Well now, who is that adorable little puppy? Debucher Baguette (aka Emma)? Oh yes, I was going to post about milestones today and today is a big milestone at our house. Exactly eight years ago today, Mom flew to London to meet me for the very first time and take me back home to Germany with her. Hard to believe that was me as I look totally different now! If you want to find out more about my early years, see my GBGV parents, and find out how I ended up in Minnesota, of all places, check my About Me page. [Read more…]
It is Follow Up Friday time here in the blogosphere. I have one very important holiday shopping tip for my friends, and a few things to recap from the week!
Next Friday is Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year. I thought I could help you all out by offering a few fun gift options you can simply order online. Seriously, what could be better than giving the gift of Emma? Have you tried shopping with the kids? We always end up at the toy department and have a fit if you want us to go anywhere else. Today I’m excited to be co-hostess of Follow Up Friday hosted by Jodi at Heart Like A Dog! Thank you for letting me co-host! Jodi has a fun blog that you should take a peak at if you are not already following her! Follow Up Friday is a blog hop that lets you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend. Being a special day on my blog it makes it even more fun.
The last weekend of October, Bailie and I had some PR work to do. I am trying to get out to events to promote my new book, but I also like to promote my breed since most people have never seen a GBGV and do not know anything about us. When I am out working I wear my Doodiepack with my book in one pocket and my business cards in the other.
Here we are again posting about fall K9 Kamp hosted by our friends Kol’s Notes, Peggy’s Pet Place and You Did What With Your Weiner. These days, keeping all of us fit and worn out has not been an easy task. It seemed that since Bailie arrived, the only worn out one was Mom, but we now are getting the hang of our new life. Just when we were figuring out an outdoor action plan, the weather turned and sent us K9 Kampers into the house. How do you wear out dogs in the house? With a four month old puppy, a seven year old, and an eleven year old, there are all kinds of requirements and restrictions when it comes to exercising so it was a challenge getting a plan together. Before getting to the big announcement I have to apologize. Normally I have everything planned out and it gets done. Well, on Monday, I totally forgot to announce the winner of my week four book contest as there was a lot of stuff going on at our house that day. Yes, Sally Jesse Raphael was the answer to my red glasses look alike. Congratulations to Pam of Words with Wieners the winner of a pawtographed copy of my book! Yours was the last entry to be eaten by my baby sister! Don’t panic, Bailie was not allowed to actually eat any of the entries but we let her choose one.
Today I am formally announcing the release of my book
Tales of a French Scent Hound!
Tales of a French Scent Hound is available as a paperback and an ebook. The list price for the paperback is $19.97, however Amazon.com is currently offering it at $11.21. I have no control over their pricing, so I don’t know how long it will stay at that price (it could change today). Remember it is a book with 120 color photographs which do cost considerably more to print, thus the higher price for the print version of the book. It is also available for $5.99 as an ebook.
Click on the links below to purchase Tales of a French Scent Hound:
- Amazon.com – paperback and ebook
- Amazon.co.uk, – paperback and ebook
- I know I have many fans outside the United States and my book is available to anyone that has access to Amazon worldwide.
Please feel free to share this post with friends and family. If you do order a book, I would really appreciate some good reviews on Amazon as they are very important in being successful on Amazon!
If you are wondering if this is a good book for kids, take a look at the video review my blogging friend Jen created with her young son. He loved it!
I hope everyone enjoys my new book and it is a howling success!
Today I’m joining 2 Brown Dawgs in the This ‘N That Thursday blog hop!
It’s a little of this and a little of that and everything in between…
A huge GBGV thank you to all my friends for all the birthday wishes yesterday! I had a pawsome day, and so far seven is working out well for me.
I wanted to mention a few more things about my book. [Read more…]
Thank you to everyone who put in a guess on my question last week to win a copy of my book! Congratulations to Molly and Alfie who were spot on with 120 photos! I guess they will be the first ones in my home land, the UK, to receive my book, how exciting! This week the game shows were missing but Will and Eko, and Jackie Bouchard had different secret formulas and both came up with 44, which, sorry, was incorrect.
Today I have a little video preview that my good friend Sugar the Golden Retriever put together for me! Sugar and her mom make the best videos, they are amazing! Take a look for a fun short preview of my book.
Thank you to everyone that put in their guess on the page count of my book! The correct answer is 140 pages and the closest guess was 137 by Deb Smith! Deb, I will be sending you a copy of my book once it is out in three weeks! It was fun to see how many pages everyone guessed and why! I love how The Price is Right came into play with Will and Eko vs. Slim Doggy! Very creative but sorry to say…neither made the showcase showdown!
Today I am revealing the cover of my book! What do you think? Mom and I think it came out perfect! I am so proud of having my own book I actually thought about eating the proof copy but Mom said I should not do that. A huge thank you to Debbie at GloGirly for designing such a perfect cover and to Karin Newstrom for that perfect cover photo of me! You both nailed it! [Read more…]
Today I am sharing some exciting news with my readers! Four weeks from today on September 19th, I will be officially releasing my book Tales of a French Scent Hound. Mom and I can hardly wait! We sure hope you all love it as much as we do!
I was hanging out on my deck cot yesterday when Mom brought me my mail. Yes, in the box was the review copy of my very own book. I was a bit scared to take a look – you never know if it will be great, or a disaster. I slowly stuck my paw, and eventually my head, in the box, and I have to tell you – at first glance it looks pawsome!
Many of my readers have mentioned that they are really looking forward to my book so I thought I should have a little trivia contest each week until my book is released. You know at dog parties we always like to play guess how many squirrels are in the tree, or how many wabbits are in the hole. Well, this week I am asking you to guess how many pages total are in my book. I am talking about the count Amazon displays (including title page, forward, backward, etc.), not the actual numbered pages. The person/animal that guesses correctly, or closest to the correct number, will win a copy of my book. I will send out your “winner’s copy” once the book is released. Sound like fun? Who wants to play?
Each Thursday until my book is released I will offer some fun facts about the book, and I will have a contest with one lucky winner. If more than one person/animal guesses correctly, I will put the names in my food bowl and choose one.
Rules and Eligibility:
- Only one guess per week per person/animal.
- A person/animal may only win one book over the course of the next four weeks, everyone should have a fair chance.
- The contest is open to any person/animal living on the planet earth – I know I have fans all over the world and I will ship to anywhere, but if you are outside of the USA, shipping may take a bit longer.
- Anyone who has worked with me on my book is ineligible as you may have insider information creating an unfair advantage for yourself, and I have something special planned for my helpers anyway.
- All entries for the contest this week must be received by Saturday, August 24th at midnight central time.
- Winner will be announced in my Monday blog post on August 26th.
- Winner will have 24 hours to email me with their shipping information or I will move on to the second place finisher. My email address can be found in the “Meet Emma” section of my website.
Here is one hint to get everyone started: The page count is between 1 and 1000!
I think this will be fun! Good luck, may the best guesser win!
