Who out there knows the article game? As you know, I got my tracking certification last winter and need to get a spot in, and pass my Tracking Dog Test the end of October or it is back to square one. I’m not into tracking like Bailie, but I can do it if I have to. Lately, though, I’ve quit stopping when I find an article and that is a serious issue. [Read more…]
The tracking seminar last month was a fun and informative time for Mom and Bailie. Being held at Shamrock Park, it sounded like a lucky event to be a part of! Bailie has her TD, Tracking Dog, Title and needs to work towards her next title. Her options are TDX, Tracking Dog Excellent, or VST, Variable Surface Tracking. After the seminar, Bailie and Mom decided to work towards a VST Title. A TDX involves finding fields, woods, streams, much more difficult in our suburban area. VST works in any park. [Read more…]
On February 5th, I got certified to track! I’ve been working on my tracking skills on and off since I started tracking last April, and I really hope to get my TD (Tracking Dog) Title this spring! Bailie passed her certification test on her first try in January 2015, but she didn’t get her title until last fall. [Read more…]
A huge congratulations to my little sister Bailie who passed her TD Test (Tracking Dog Test) on October 25th! We are all so very proud of her for getting her first title in dog sports! [Read more…]
As you know, Bailie started tracking last August. Because tracking requires so much space and time, she was the only one to take the class and learn to track. Mom’s plan was for Bailie to get her TD title this spring and then let me start tracking. Well, forget that, plans out the window! [Read more…]
Today is Bailie’s day out, Bailie’s day to shine. Bailie has her Tracking Dog test this morning, so I found it fitting to post a b/w photo of her today. There are six tracks and the draw is at 7:45, so she should be all done by 11 or so depending on what start time she gets. Katie, the kitties, and I wish her a big fat TD title. Mom isn’t so sure about it anyore as the last practice days Bailie has been more interested in goofing off than tracking. She hopes Bailie gets on track when she realizes it is a test and she gets to follow a track laid by someone other than Mom for a change. No matter how it goes, they will have a fun experience together. Hopefully Bailie’s day out won’t be a disaster!
Today I’m joining the Black and White Sunday Blog Hop, sponsored by Dachshund Nola and Sugar the Golden Retriever. Remember to stop by and visit some of the other blogs on the hop to meet new friends!
Today I’m turning my blog over to Bailie for an update on tracking since she is our tracking star. Without further delay, here’s Bailie. Thanks, Emms. I promise not to mess up the back end of your blog. Tracking is really my favorite thing in the world to do. I have done it on my own as long as I can remember, and in my beginner tracking class, I picked up the new challenges effortlessly. I’m now ready to think about getting my first title which is the Tracking Dog or TD title. Today, I want to show you a bit about what goes into running a track and getting to a TD test. It looks easy peasy, but there are a lot of challenges. We were fortunate to have Laura along to take some photos of us for the blog last weekend. [Read more…]
Little Bailie is pretty proud of herself and so are Katie, Mom and I. Bailie finished her Beginner Tracking Course on November 1. Katie and I went along to class with her on that morning and got to watch her run her last class track from our car. It was kind of a blind track and around 600 yards long. [Read more…]
