Sorting out the laundry
As you may know I am a total mommy’s girl. I love to snuggle and cuddle and I like to help out mom whenever I can. One of my favorite household chores is the laundry – nothing is better than finding and stealing dirty socks and undies! Sometimes I really have to dig down deep to find the best smelly stuff but being a scent hound I always find it! I help mom do the laundry every week and I know she really appreciates the help. If possible I like to take some dirty stuff and hide it so mom does not find it until she is done doing the laundry. For
Oops – lost a piece on the way to the washer
some reason, she does not seem to find that game to be as much fun as I do. She says that I give new meaning to the old problem of putting 2 socks in the laundry and only getting one back out – not sure what she means by that?
I not only like to help sort the laundry, I like to practically get into the washer to make sure all the laundry is in the washer and loaded correctly. These front loading machines make it really easy for us dogs to do the laundry, what I great invention! Occassionally something might get dropped on the way to the washer and I am always more than happy to pick it up and

bring it to mom or hide it until later. I was staying at mom’s cousin’s house for a few days a while back and I managed to steal some of the kids dirty undies while I was there. Unfortunately, they did not seem to appreciate my help as much as mom does and they actually thought I was being naughty and accused me of undie theft! Can you believe that??? Obviously, they don’t know anything about good laundry help!
The only part of laundry day I don’t like is the ironing. Sometimes mom has me do some of the ironing – it makes me feel like Cinderella or

something! I put on my bandana to keep my ears from getting caught under the iron and away I go. Mom hates to iron so even though I don’t really like it I do it just to help her out. Lucky for me I can adjust the height of the ironing board so I have it nice and low for me.
Time to get to some folding done and then put the clean laundry away one item at a time for mom. Can’t wait for laundry day again next week – mom has some really great smelling running clothes in the basket this time of year, a real treasure for me!

Helping with the laundry, especially helping us have less socks to wash seems to be a very fun game. No one wants to help with the ironing or folding though, so you are a very special helper 🙂

BOL! I help by picking up dropped laundry and following my Human to the washing machine…but a top load, even as big as I am, is just too hard to reach. So, I give the laundry to my Human and get my payment. (ie. treat)

Oh Emma, you are such a fantastic helper! My laundry role is to lay on all the clean warm laundry so the heat does not escape! As soon as Mommy brings it up I either jump into the basket if it is sitting longer than a second, or I jump on the clean pile to be folded once it’s on the couch! But your ironing skills are the BEST!

Rooo Emma, you’re really good at this laundry stuff! I like to steal socks and undies too, and I always hide my booty in my bed so I can sniff those smelly socks all nite long *waggy tail* My human says you can come and do our ironing any time you like!
