Finally we were able to go and get into some mischief at the dog park again! First it was too much rain, then it was too hot and finally we had a good day! As “dog parkers” know there are all kinds of dog parks, fenced, unfenced, partially fenced, with water, with gated water, with trails, just a play area etc. Our favorite one is the Cleary Lake Dog Park– 28 areas of fenced in trails and a gated pond. In the winter they even groom the trails so we can walk there yearround. Mom, Katie and I like big parks where we can walk and sometimes swim with plenty of tall grass and trees. This park is 28 acres fenced so that is
pretty nice! We don’t care much for parks where the humans just stand around and watch their dogs play as I am not much for playing with strangers, mom wants to walk and Katie is having issues with being older and not being able to play as much as she would like to. It makes her growly with other dogs that are too wild so we like Cleary Lake because we can walk, explore, sniff with others and move on. There is a pond too where we can swim but right now with the heat the water is bad (too much bacteria) so we can’t go in but it is gated,
so no problem. Mom buys us a yearly pass every year so we can go as often as we want to – yay!
We usually start our visits off with a walk around the perimeter trail to get warmed up for the trails in the middle. Katie and I walk on the path a lot but sometimes I have to jump out into the weeds because I know that there are little critters in the tall grass.
Sometimes there is something really nice and smelly on the ground which me, being a scent
hound, finds right away. I love to get on my back and just really roll in it. Mom has a fit and comes running after me screaming for me to get up but I don’t care – rolling in smelly stuff is so much fun and I feel so good afterwards!
We have so much fun just smelling the smells, seeing the critters and birdies and having a nice walk. Sometimes Katie and I each do our own thing and sometimes we check things out together or we even get a game of chase and wrestle going.
This park also has water on site so when it is not freezing out we can get a drink if we need one. The only bummer is that there is usually a mud puddle around the water station which I just love to lay down in but mom does not let me. My favorite time to do that is right before we are leaving and heading for the car. It is so funny to watch her reaction if I manage to make it into the mud puddle! I know, I am mischevious but it is so fun! Mom has been working more with her camera and took another class so she took over 100 pictures on our visit. I could not put all of them on my blog but I did decide to put a few of my favorites in the blog and also a short slide show of all our fun here and the end of my blog. That was our mischief at the dog park!
This blog is on the Monday Mischief Blog Hop, check out the other blogs here.
What a great dog park! You’re so lucky to have a place like that to romp, walk, play and of course roll in things.
We sure love it and we don’t go too often so it makes it more fun when we do go!
Hey Emma, Hey Katie, Jet here.
Um… I can’t help writing that you both look fetching in those pictures! I ahem… Mom and I now have a way better idea of what you both look like!
What a pawesome park, wish we had such a fabulous place to go! I’m not sure Mom could ever get JJ and I to go home if we went. When we went to the dog park (before the “tragic, electrocution incident”, Koko and I would get nice and muddy right before we left, too… irresistable!
Hard to believe but we are ready to leave after an hour – we get pretty worn out!
Did you take a wonderful nap?
Glad you finally got some good weather. That looks like a nice park but I can’t take Chester and Gretel to places like that because their small little selves will run into dense brush after stuff and possibly not come back. Once I thought I lost Gretel for good. It’s only wide open spaces for these pups. Like you pointed out, I am glad there are different types of parks to fit everyone’s needs.
We don’t go to the nice one with the wooded area because my sister took off once and mom could not see her and panics.
Hey Guys,
That looks like an awesome Park!! I’ve never heard of one where you get a pass, sounds like a good idea!!
Love your mud puddle Mischief!! I think my Mum would freak out if I did that, I imagine Cosmo (my buddy) might do it as he loves to roll on the grass, I just watch him and wait until he’s ready to continue on our run!! 🙂
Wags to all
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Lots of the parks in our area have yearly passes, helps keep them up I guess.
Dog park mischief is the best! Your Mom’s pictures are great!
Thanks, I will tell her 🙂
I’m so glad you got to go to the dog park to have fun and get into mischief. Getting out and just walking, smelling and rolling can always be so much fun. We managed to get out for a walk and swim finally too. We came home muddy so even without the puddles you can make it a great day 🙂
That looks like a great dog park! My 2 boys would love a place like that. We don’t like going to the regular dog parks too. The only problem is I don’t think we have a park like that anywhere nearby.
OMD, a dog park with nice smelly things to roll in?? That sounds like my like my kind of park!! BOL!!

That looks like the kind of park me and my dogs would enjoy! Where is it? LOL
