Come on mom! Get up it is your birthday!

Yesterday was my mom’s birthday so naturally, I had to get into some birthday mischief!  I am not really sure how old mom is, but I know she is really old – she told katie and I that she was older than all our paws and toes combined so we know she is really up there, but for her age she seems pretty young and frisky still 🙂

I wanted mom to enjoy the whole day so when she was still sleeping at 5:30 I got into bed to wake her up but she did not want to get up so early she said – humans!  Of course, I was

relentless and did get her out of bed fairly quickly, she can’t resist me when I want something!  After some time at her computer and feeding the cats we took mom out for her morning walk.  She expects us to walk her every morning and her birthday was no different.  She really enjoys the morning walks but oddly, she never goes to the bathroom when we are out, just Katie and I do.  We told her to start marking stuff up for her birthday but she was not interested.

decorate myself as a present.  Mom likes all those party things, streamers, hats, balloons, etc, so I tried to include all those in my outfit.  Even if I do say so myself I came out looking pretty darn good.  Mom just loved it and could not get over how darn adorable I looked – and as all dogs know, if mom is happy, pup is happy!

I could not really cook or bake for mom since our house rule is that I am only allowed to bake and cook with her help so I did not know what

to do for food.  Then it hit me – mom loves corn on the cob.  A few miles down the road there is a corn stand that she likes so I got on my walkin’ paws and trotted on down there to get some corn for her.  I am not allowed in the store because they have food items so I figured I could use the drive thru corn window but just walk through.  I like corn too, so I was licking my chops thinking about a lot of corn.  I got us a nice bag of sweet corn and brought it home.  Then I had the hard work of getting it all husked so mom could cook it for dinner.  That husking is a major mess!  I had husks and silk

all over the place but mom did not care!

All in all I think mom had a fun day.  Us pets all tried to be well behaved for the entire day and we all just enjoy hanging out with each other and that is what mom likes too.  So, happy birthday again, mom!  Remember, my birthday is next…hint, hint, hint…
