Look who is 6 today!
Yay! Finally it is my birthday, seems like I have been counting the days for sooo long! I am so excited to get even more spoiled than usual today! Can’t believe I am 6 already!
We started the day with a nice long walk on the “bunny trails” one of my very favorite places to walk because we usually see lots of wabbits and squirrels and this morning was no different. How exciting! Nothing better than lots of critters to get my day started

even at 6 I just can’t find enough critters! Mom baked me a cake last night so it would be ready for me on my birthday. She said I was not allowed to help bake because it is my birthday, I was kind of bummed because I love to help but she did let me lick out the mixing bowl to make sure I approved of the flavor. Mom tried another new recipe – she got the recipe for an Apple Cheddar Bone Cake from the Four Legged Barkery. Take a look at their page – they have lots of good tips and recipes. The cake is super

yummy, so if you would like to make one, click here for a downloadable pdf of the recipe. The recipe was for a sheet cake but mom made a bone template and cut the rectangle into a bone shape and then frosted and decorated it.
One of the biggest highlights, of course, was opening presents. I don’t play with toys, so mom got me some great made in the USA fairly healthy dog treats, gotta love a good snack supply. The biggest present I got was

from my dear friend Elvis the Yorkie, I was so surprised to get a gift from him and such a huge box. I did get it open and found it to be a new bed along with a photo of him and a little note. I love the new bed and it will match perfectly with mommy’s new bed cover in our bedroom! Thank you so much Elvis – Love you so much! What a sweetie!
After the walk, breakfast, napping, opening gifts, etc, it was finally time to try the cake. My sister Katie is in a few of my photos but

as you can see she has no interest in partying with me or anyone else – she hates photos and parties but she did it for me. I tried licking the yummy frosting first and then we got our first piece – wow – so yummy in the tummy! I wanted to eat the whole cake but mom said I had to hold back and save some for later, major bummer!
For the rest of the day I don’t have any big plans – word on the street is that we are going to go for a really fun walk before dinner, so that is something to look forward to. I have a lot of birthday photos so I put them in a slide show for everyone to see.

We actually just took a walk to “squirrel corner” so now I am ready for dinner! We named our favorite walks 😉
