For my Monday Mischief I was up to my ears in leaves! If you follow me very much you would know that my gramma kind of lives in the woods. I mean she is in civilization but it is a heavily wooded neighborhood with tons of trees, squirrels, chipmunks and other critters. We love to visit Gramma because she always has treats for us and we get to see lots of critter action out her windows which are mostly right at dog level. I never met my grandpa, but I have heard he loved animals so I am betting
that since he was a builder and actually built that house he put the windows low in case a dog would ever live there. Cats don’t count since they climb and lay on top of everything so window height is not an issue for them.
Anyway, because of all the trees, gramma has lots of leaves which her neighbor usually takes care of for her. She does not have them bagged, just piles them up in certain areas of the yard. Gramma doesn’t have
much of a lawn because it is too shady, so no worries about the grass dying under the leaves. Well, one day when we were out visiting, mom took me out to play in the leaves and she took her camera along too.
It was so much fun jumping into the leaves! They were so deep that I almost disappeared! I am pretty short, you know! Then there are those sneaky squirrels racing around in the trees storing their food for the winter – I felt like I was hiding in the leaves
and was hoping to jump out and capture one of those furry tailed guys but no such luck. Mom just watched me and snapped away with her camera. She got some good shots of me with the pretty colors and also my total focus on squirrels.
My sister did not come out to play with us since she does not like getting dirty or messy. She would not like to be in the leaves, I could care less if I am a mess as long as I am having a good time!
Thanks gramma for letting me go out and play in your leaves, it was really fun! Sorry I tracked so many into the house but those leaves just stick to my fur like glue!
Today I am joining the Monday Mischief Pet Blog Hop sponsored by my friend Snoopy! Join in the fun!
Hey Emma, Jet here. Hi Katie.
Emma, you look fabulous playing in the leaves… and chasing squirrels is the BEST. Thanks for sharing such beautiful pics since we don’t have that stuff here in the tropics. I like a girl who can get dirty and playful! JJ doesn’t mind either… does Katie’s heritage fit that behavior?
Oh my, piles of leaves that high must be about the best fun a dog can have. Litchi is getting jealous just reading this post. You look adorable, up to your ears in leaves.
We don’t bag our leave here either, we rake them up and let the pups have a roll in them and then go over them with our lawnmower, this mulches them so they can act as food for the grass.
That looks like a very fun time. Torrey would have most of them stuck to her though.
Emma You look like you had so much fun!!!! Love and Kisses
It would have been more fun if you were there too 🙂
Woof! Woof! You got me on the pile of leaves…. oh do I miss the fun of fall leaves. Golden Thanks for sharing you FUN! Happy MM. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
What do you romp in? Coconut piles 😉 You have the beach!
What wonderful leaves you have there. I want to come play!
Gramma really has a lot of leaves!
We love to play in the leaves too! We have lots of leaves in our yard and we run and jump in them!!! Your mom took some really pretty pictures of you in the leaves Emma! You are much more photogenic than we are! Happy MM!
Mom is an aspiring dog photographer – she has a lot to learn but we work on it together…maybe someday she will get it down.
You look so cute playing in those leaves. It looks like a lot of fun too.
The leaves were fun but the squirrels racing around was the biggest thrill 🙂
Wow that is a LOT of leaves! Looks like fun though:-)
Oh Emma, look at you having so much fun in ALL those leaves, I’ve never seen so many!!
They’d stick to me like glue too – uh oh, just remembered the glue incident I had, and yes I did continue playing in the garden until Cosmo’s family got home and yes I did literally have leaves stuck to my fur with the glue – Tee Hee
Hope you’re having a fun day 🙂
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Emma is soo cute, kirby has also done a similar photo shoot a couple weeks ago, and with his white/blonde fur popping out of the brown pile of leaves I must say they are two peas in a pod- Just one a little bigger than the other 😉
I will have to bound on over to your blog when I get a chance later and take a look!
Yes you must, I say the resemblance is uncanny, as much as one can be with a Maltese cross, and a GBGV can be that is!
I kind have a doodle looking face too 🙂
Oh what great fun it is playing in the leaves! How wonderful that your Grandma let you play in all of hers. You look so cute surrounded by all those leaves too! 🙂
I really had a blast!
Hey Emma, that looks like real fun! I keep chasing the leaves, my human kicks them in the air and then I catch them, but I don’t understand why they just break in my mouth. My human thinks this is funny. *wag wag wag*
You sound like a curious young dog, in time you will understand 🙂 Leaves will still be fun, though!
Oh man! I’ll bet mom and her camera were scaring off the squirrels. 🙁 Next time you’ll have to sneak out and get a squirrel.
You’re right – if I was alone I bet I could catch one if I hid in those leaves 🙂
Emma, your Grandma does have a lot of leaves Mica could have almost disappeared 🙂
