Getting everything ready to bake cookies!
It’s that holiday time of year again. My family and I celebrate Christmas but I know lots of my friends celebrate other holidays and/or religions. Part of the fun of having all my online friends is learning about what everyone does for their own holidays or in other places around the world. I only post about Christmas because that is the holiday that I know about. Maybe you can use my recipe for cookies for your holiday if it is not Christmas 🙂

I got my letter to Santa written, helped mom decorate the house, the tree comes later and now it is time to get on with the Christmas baking. Did I say baking – I so love to bake! Dogs love self-rewarding behaviors and baking is definitely in that category! Nothing better than tasting some cookie dough or cake batter, then comes the great smell from the oven as the items bake and then the chef always has to try the items to make sure they do taste good. A truly no lose, all win situation! Arrooooo!
We do a lot of baking this time of the year. Since we don’t have many humans around, we bake mostly for dogs – I am not arguing this point. I have found out that most dog moms don’t let their dogs bake or the moms themselves don’t bake for their dogs. This makes me sad since we just love homemade treats, they are so yummy. Because I like to share, and sharing at this time of year is extra fun, we bake cookies for all the neighbor dogs and for our dog friends.

Mom started doing this when she first moved to Germany and the dogs just loved it so she has continued on. I do the baking and mom delivers, so the system works well and the dogs love us!
For my post today I am baking Peanut Butter Banana cookies. They are super easy to make (most of my recipes are since I am a dog), they are healthy and most important, super yummy! You can bake them anytime of the year, I just picked them for my Christmas cookies this year. For my Christmas cookies I always choose a recipe that has dough to roll out so I can use my cookie cutters. I make stars for smaller dogs, then I have snowmen, Santa heads, bells, Christmas trees and a gingerbread man.
When I do holiday baking I like to wear my Christmas apron with the fancy fur on the edges…kind of a Mrs. Santa Paws feeling and I often wear my Santa hat in place of my chef hat as it really sets the holiday mood.

that sounds like a great treat you can leave for santa paws! after seeing how you could look into drawers by standing, i’m thinking of asking santa paws for longer legs this year. i want to get into more stuff, and longer legs would help me. i think you look so cute in your outfit btw!
Actually, I have short legs, wish I had long ones like my Kuvasz sister 🙂 It is amazing how one can stretch when necessary 🙂

I don’t usually let my dogs bake. They sneak ingredients when I’m not looking. It’s bad enough that they eat chicken poo when I put them out to do their business …
Awww…that is sad, so we sneak a few things – I see mommy sneaking ingredients herself when she bakes human stuff 🙂 I’ve never tried chicken poo.

WOW Emma, we stopped backing after all the kids left home but I’m glad you and Mom make dog cookies. What a great recipe to pick this year, hope they all turned out good. We love you in your apron;-)
