Last weekend mom took me to see Santa. She only took me because Katie said she did not want to go, she thought it was a dumb idea. Fine, so miss fancy pants, the good dog stayed home and I got to go all alone with mom. A few years ago mom took both of us to see Santa which was interesting but we had to wait a long time to see him, today it only took like 10 minutes.
I have to say, and I don’t want mom to know, but I am suspicious of this “Santa”. See in the photo how I am not really looking sure about him? I feel like he may have been some kind of an imposter. For one thing he never once said, “ho, ho, ho”, he also was not real happy looking but the biggest thing that makes me wonder is that when I got into his lap, his whole beard fell off! He had to fix himself up before we could take a photo! Now thinking about this, it is very practical having a beard that you can just take off. Mom could take my beard off, wash and comb it and then put it back on me rather than fight with me to get the dried food out of it. But, I have never heard of real beards that are detachable. I am thinking that Santa was too busy this time of year so he sent his brother or something in his place. Whatever the case, I told him what I have on my list and that I had already mailed my list to him so he would not need to remember everything I barked into his ear.
After the photo, mom let me do some shopping in the store. I politely sat down and smiled at a few choice items that I liked, kind of a hint to mom as to what she might want to buy me for Christmas. The jumbo rawhide candy canes reminded me of my very first Christmas. We were in Germany and Katie and I got a 3 foot long rawhide with a knot on each end to share. Since I was a baby it worked well, we each chewed at our own end and I could watch how Katie worked on it and I learned from her. I also saw these cute good dog pillows. Since I am
a good dog it would be a great reminder for mom in the event that I am in some kind of trouble and I could see them being a comfy thing to rest my chin on.
It was a quick trip but I had fun and I got several free treats. Everyone asks about me when we go shopping since I am a rare breed, so we also gave out several of my cards with my website to people so they can check me out. Now all I have to do is wait for Santa to get here…how many more days, mom???
He didn’t say Hohoho? and his beard came off? Oh no!!! Well at least you got to tell him what you wanted and got to go shopping Emma! Hopefully he’ll pass that on to the REAL Santa! I think your picture looks cute!:)
That Santa was up to something – not good!
I love the pictures of you!! I have never seen you so happy. I hope your Mom can see that and buy you everything you want. after all you are a star!!!!!!
I know, I like to close my mouth for pics and be serious, have to work on smiling.
The pic of you with the candy canes is sooooo cute!
Now I just need one delivered to my house 🙂
How cool that you got to go shopping with your peoples. I would have been suspicious of the santa too. Maybe he is actually a zombie!
He was a bit odd I must say!
Woof! Woof! What a FUN photos .. Happy Friday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Happy Friday – enjoy the weather – we are waiting for snow this weekend 🙂
Emma, Gwennie and I think you have GREAT detective skills. You know how to sniff out a real Santa from an imposter! Gwennie is getting lots of good ideas for her Christmas list from your posts. She says she wants to have a bully stick more than anything else! <3 Gwennie and her Mommy
Yummy – we order a big bag online and mom makes them last a long time – hope Gwennie gets some, she has been a good girl!
You do look a little suspicious sitting on Santa and a removable beard is kinda strange. We do not go to see Santa. First we cannot sit on his lap and second we do NOT like beards. Glad you got to shop and pick out some presents 🙂
You should come with me – I can rip the beard off and you can take it from me and run with it – LOL!
OH that would be so much fun Emma, but he would think we are all naughty. LOL
Sometimes I think the crime is worth the time 😉
Roooo Emma, I don’t think that was the real Santa Paws – you were right not trusting him! I wish I could get one of those massive rawhides, they look pawsome! *Waggy tail*
I have my paws crossed that mom gets me one 🙂
Our mom is jealous that you are such a good doggy and your mom gets to take you out to all kinds of cool places! We just leave pee mail everywhere so mom can’t take us anywhere:( You are so cool Emma! By the way, tell your mom to come visit our blog and enter our Angry Birds Dog Toys (that’s a mouthful!) giveaway! We think you would like them!
Ok, I will tell her – you guys have to get the pee thing under control 😉
Hey Emma, Jet here. Hi Miss Fancy Pants.
Emma, I think your observations were dead on… we noticed he was missing those proper Santa Specs, too. Hope your Mom gets the rawhide cane hint, you sure looked happy enough in front of it! Glad you enjoyed your outing…
It’s great that you got to see Santa but I’d be suspicious too. Especially if he didn’t “ho, ho, ho”!
I’m glad to see you got to meet Santa but I’d be suspicious too. Especially if he didn’t ho,ho,ho!
And that detachable beard was a killer too 😉
