It is almost time to start howling in 2013. All the humans make these lists of what they call resolutions for the new year, I never have understood that concept but this year I thought I would make a few of my own and share them with my blog community. It seems like the bipeds only abide by them for a short time so I am not worried if mine are a bit too difficult. I was able to come up with the following five:
- I will try not to knock Gramma over every time I see her (I only do it because I love her and am so excited to see her)
- I will try not to countersurf – this is a tall order since mom has such good stuff on the counter that she often leaves unattended
- I will try not to howl, bark and rip at the windowsill when my friend Fred the squirrel comes by to visit – he comes almost daily but I am still out of my fur as if it is the first visit every time
- I am going to try to let mom comb out my beard without such a fight – I simply don’t like the process but she says it has to be done
- I promise to try to be nicer to my cats, especially Sophie who is scared of me
Everyone howl in 2013 safely – dogs, remember no alcohol, it is poison for us dogs. I will be celebrating with chilled bottled water poured into my shiny silver water bowl or champagne glass.
Here’s to a howlin’ great 2013!
I have joined in the Monday Mischief Blog Hop, click here to join in the fun!
I’m pretty proud, the ONLY thing that I have to work on is Number 3! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Impressive!
Hey Emma, Jet here. Hi Katie.
Those resolutions sound reasonable and admirable to me! I’m still pondering my options!
Wishing you a safe, Happy, healthy and abundant new year. 🙂
You look quite fetching… festive … and well… lovely!
Thanks, mom thought gold, black and white matched my fur perfectly 🙂
I think you’ve made some great resolutions… but you think you can’t keep them? I bet you’d be surprised that you can!
I am going to try, but it will not be easy with a couple of them!
That’s a great set of goals. You can do it!!!
I am going to try but not howling at Fred will be rough!
Great resolutions Emma, but don’t worry, none of us ever keep them! LOL Happy New Year to you!!
I am going to try my best but some are going to be pretty hard! Happy New Year!
Very ambitious list there Emma but I know you’re the dawg who can do it. I’m with you on the beard-combing thing…I don’t like it at all but mom sez it’s impawtant……Happy, healthy & loving new year to you and your fambly from Beth & Gizmo
Happy New Year from mom and I to you both!
I’m sure you can show us bipeds how easy it is to keep resolutions 🙂 Happy New Year!
In that case I should have resolved to catch a squirrel, something more fun 😉
I think that your list is very attainable Emma, I think being nice to the cats is going to be the hardest!
Happy New Year!
Actually, relaxing with Fred around will be the worst for me I think!
I think the not knocking Grandma over should be your top priority…at least according to her 🙂
I know but it is a hard habit to break as I am so excited!
Happy new year!!
Happy 2013 to you too!
Happy New Year to you! That is a fabulous picture. You know what they say–New Years resolutions are made to be broken. I guess it will be good material for Monday Mischief. 🙂
Me? Mischief??? Ok, I guess mischief is my middle name! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! Eat more cookies!
I can sure do that!
Really great list Emma. Maybe I can get my dogs on board to try making some resolutions this year too….? Especially the not knocking people down or counter-surfing ones! Have a Happy New Year, and enjoy that bottled water!!
Thanks! I already missed the one on Fred, had a howling fit about him this morning and got myself a time out 🙁
You’re so cute! That’s a good list of goals. Rita might have to try #2 as well! And she is going to try to not growl at Grandma… She’s a bit afraid of her sometimes. So embarrassing…
Definitely no Gramma fear here, just love her a bit too much 🙂
Hey Emma,
You’re gonna be busy with all those resolutions buddy!! I’m with you on the beard thing, I hate that too!!
Have a howlin’ New Year, Big wags to all of you,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Sold another book last night…pawing forward one book at a time! Happy 2013!
Holy moly! Those are some big resolutions! Especially you and Fred. Good luck!
Correct, have already had failures on the Fred one 🙁
A very Happy 2013 to you and your sister, Emma!
Thank you, happy new year to you as well.
