What is mischief times seven…read this post to find out!
WARNING!
Post contains extreme cuteness!
I have some really exciting news! I found out about a week ago that I became an aunt for the first time to 7 adorable bouncing baby hounds, GBGV hounds that is, 4 boys and 3 girls. I have a half brother, Greffier, who is a year younger than me, we share the same handsome daddy, Debucher Yorrick. Greffier lives in Missouri and although I have never met him, I have seen lots of photos and know that he is a lot like me. Greffier lives with Nancy who has actually been to England to visit my breeder and has brought over a couple GBGV’s from there, one of them being Vivien, named after our breeder, Vivien Phillips. Well, Vivi and Greffier got real friendly with each other and created these 7 beautiful
babies that were born on December 14.
Not only am I thrilled to be an aunt and just so excited over their cuteness, we finally have enough GBGV’s registered in the USA to have the GBGV breed recognized by the AKC. You need to have 150 dogs registered (not necessarily still living) to be recognized, so this is great news! We are still very rare but at least we will be recognized so next year when I get my dog license they can check me in on the correct breed for a change!
Nancy says that Vivi is a wonderful mommy to
her babies and they all are super happy…well, GBGV’s are always happy which is why they call us the “happy breed”. Since Greffier and Vivi are both Debuchers and came from “across the pond”, England, the litter has been named the “smooth sailing” litter and the little ones were even born in a boat shaped whelping box! Thank goodness we love to swim with those circumstances, woof!
According to Nancy the puppies are really starting to get to the fun stage now…look out, 7 little cuties moving around! Not all the pups
are spoken for yet, so if you are interested in adopting a “mini-me” pup, this is your chance! Litters are few and far between in the US.
Sticking with the nautical theme, Nancy is looking for suggestions as to what to name the seven. Her kennel name is Ethos GBGV, which is the reason for that part of the name. So far she has Ethos All Hands On Deck, Ethos Hook Line and Sinker and Ethos Whatever Floats Your Boat. If you have any fun creative ideas please share them with her.
The only sad part to the story is that they are a
good 8 hour drive away, so I will not be able to visit them. If only I could drive myself but mom needs the car so I can’t. Mom had a serious case of puppy fever when she first heard about the litter. Well, actually, she still has it but has decided that now is not the right time to get me a little sister. We would love the pitter patter of little paws in the house and I would love to show a little sister how to go through life as a GBGV but mom says we have to wait a bit. I guess that means she can continue spoiling me more which is a good thing.
Now that they are four weeks old they have moved from their houseboat box to a cottage with a poolside view! Look at them toddling around…mischief in the making :)Aroooo!
If you are interested in adopting one of my nieces or nephews or have name suggestions, please email Nancy at: nancy@lifeisgrand.us
Hope you enjoy the little cuties, hard to believe I was like that a few years ago, just too adorable for woofs! For now, Auntie Emma is signing out 🙂

They are too adorable for words!
Thank you, I am a very proud aunt!
What gorgeous little pups!
Aren’t they just precious!
Oh my goodness, we’re over-cuted! Such adorable, sweet little puppies!! I’m sure they’ll find some very nice homes. 🙂
I know they will since they are adorable and the breeder is very good at finding great homes.
Congrats on becoming an Aunt, and on being able to get your breed recognized by the AKC. The pups are so cute!
Thank you, I wish I could hang out with them!
How cool!! you need to have a party to celebrate that you are an official GBGV!!!
I know, we are really excited! Sometimes the US is so slow, the rest of the world has accepted us for years!
Thanks so much for the cuteness overload.
🙂
Woof! Woof! Golden Thanks for sharing adorable puppy cuteness. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Woof, aroooo!

Rooo isn’t it just pawsome to see those little puppies *waggy tail*. Now remember its your aunt duty to teach them all the mischief you know *waggy tail*
I need to get myself a little sister to totally corrupt with mischief!
Hey Emma, Jet here. Hi Katie.
Wowee wow wow, Congrats Auntie Emma! Does Katie feel left out?
Oh those little ones are beyond, adorable. I love the little pups myself… let alone Mom and Little Miss… hmmm… considering her bouncing and pouncing… maybe we won’t tell her yet!
Great names and congrats on your AKC designation. One day we hope to see your heritage at Westminster!
Katie doesn’t care much for puppies since she is older, I love puppies and I love teaching them, mom says she learns from me – LOL!
Oh man, extreme cuteness is right! Congratulations on all the good news. Does that mean we should start calling you Auntie Em??
Sounds like something from the Wizard of Oz – LOL!
That’s a great blog Emma ! I enjoyed looking at all the puppy pics 🙂 you are a wonderful aunt!
Sent from my iPhone
Thanks, they are just so cute!
Awwwwe Emma, they are precious!
🙂
*SQUEEEEE* *SQUEEEEEE* They’re adorable, Emmadog!
Thanks, I think so too!
Soooo cuddly cute! and this unofficial Dorkie is honored to know an official GBGV!
It will be nice once everyone gets GBGV on their lists!
I can almost smell the puppy breath.
Mom and I just want to dive in there and snuggle up!
What the…..so much cuteness, I might explode! Kirby better not see these little ones oh no, his very own cuteness-pride may take a hit when he sees me gushing over these pictures. I also think the GBGV is getting much more recognition recently. I just saw a episode of pick a puppy, and the GBGV was one of the families choices of dogs they wanted to see. And congrats on finally getting recognized in the AKC! You know it should have happened a longtime ago, when I knew about these guys way before I even heard about half the other breeds that are already on the list!
It’s just a numbers game with the AKC, but now we are “real” in the USA finally!
Yes that is almost an overdose of maximum cuteness Emma But seriously, condogulations to you and the GBGV breed on ‘coming of age” with the AKC!
Thank you, friend 😉
Congratulations Aunt Emma! The puppies are so adorable! I bet their puppy breath smells so good!
I wish they were closer so I could really sniff their puppy breath!
Very adorable puppies and congratulations to you Emma on becoming an aunt. It is a shame you cannot teach them all some delightful mischief before they go to their new home. I’m sure they would be so much fun to play with.
I really like puppies so I know I would have fun, but one of these days mom says I will get a little sister and I can teach her what I know.
Oooh so cute!! How about Ethos Aye Captain?
It’s great you’re gonna be recognized in the US now, woohoo!! It may be a while before you see a keychain in a store for your breed though, it’s still virtually impossible to see one for my breed – doh!!
Wags to all,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
I will have to create my own products in my zazzle store, unless you are a lab or a golden retriever it is slim pickins with merchandise!
Thanks for sharing. We like your blog a lot.
