This past weekend we went to Gramma’s house, thus mischief at Gramma’s house! Yes, we go to Gramma’s house a lot but we, of course, love visiting her for so many reasons! Gramma loves us granddogs, always has good stuff for us to eat, has lots of critters to watch since she lives in a wooded area and when we take walks there, there are so many great smells! Oh, I almost forgot, her cat, our cousin Bowie, just loves us visiting too! We don’t see much of him when we are there but we are sure he totally appreciates us stopping by!
Gramma always has such nice decorations on her front door so I had mom take a shot of me at the door waiting for her to come and open it up. She is all ready for Valentine’s Day later this week! Once we had our walk around the area to check on the critter situation, we returned to Gramma’s and she gave us a nice Trader Joes dog cookie…they are so yummy and they are healthy too! Now it was time to assume my post in the living room
window looking for squirrels in the trees. They love to race along and jump from branch to branch…I go absolutely nuts! Since we are not allowed on the furniture I have to stand up to see out the window. Sometimes there are wabbits racing around on the ground and once and a while there are even deer out in the yard! When we first moved back from Germany and stayed with Gramma I could sit and look out at the wildlife for hours, it is like a live reality show for dogs!
Gramma had decided to make a turkey, so I asked if I could help out in the kitchen, I just love helping in the kitchen. I am a pretty good chef myself and I can make sure the floor stays squeaky clean! The only problem with turkey is that it takes forever to cook! As you can see, Katie and I finally gave up and just decided to lie down and wait…who knows when that bird would come out of the oven!
Once the bird was done Gramma put it on the counter and I took it upon myself to give it a good sniff over to make sure it was just right…I did have to be careful not to burn my nose! Katie and I got to sample the meat and some of the other parts that mom and Gramma do not eat and I have to say it was mighty tasty! Unfortunately, we did not get to eat as much as we wanted but what we did get was scrumptious!
After everyone was finished eating it was time to clean up the mess and I felt that since I had helped Gramma get dinner ready, the least I could do would be to help her clean up. I happily worked on the pre-wash cycle for her with the dishes in the dishwasher.
What a super fun day at Gramma’s house! Thanks Gramma! I love you and can’t wait until we come visit again hopefully pretty soon!!!
Welcome to Monday Mischief – The pet blog hop that wraps up the weekend! This Blog Hop is brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies and Luna, A Dog’s Life
Woof! Woof! WOW Turkey and its not even Thanksgiving. You sure had a great FUN times at Grandma … Happy MM. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
It was a nice treat, but we usually have a bird 2-3 times a year because we like them.
Your Gramma’s house looks so charming and you look so happy and relaxed there, she sounds like an incredibly special lady and I can see why you love her so much! What really caught my eye was Trader Joe’s has DOG COOKIES????!!! I have to tell Mom to check those out! She LOVES Trader Joes!!! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
What is wrong with your mom! They have a small pet section and I think there are about 4 kinds of cookies – all super tasty! They have some other treats and food too but mom always gets the cookies…they are fun shapes too! Fire hydrants, shoes, sofas, cats, squirrels…yes, squirrels and they are the biggest ones in the package!
There is just nothing better than a visit to Grandmas house. And you are so lucky getting turkey, and cleaning the dishes.
I know…she spoils me and to think she did not even like pets when mom was little…she had to learn how to like pets since mom was a pet nut!
What a lovely house Gramma has and what a lovely helper you are Emma!
Thanks, Grandpa, who I never got to meet, was a builder and he built it. I wish I had met him since mom says he loved animals, especially shaggy dogs!
Going to Gramma’s house is so much fun! We might not be cooks like you but we are experts at cleaning the dishes!
Good clean up help is always appreciated!
That doesn’t look like mischief to me, sounds like you were the perfect kitchen helper 🙂
Well, I am not supposed to prewash dishes in the dishwasher 😉
Love your Grandma’s Car!! I know you didn’t show it. Love you and You are the best!!
This time of year is not the best for a convertible…I will love it more in the summer again!
Gramma’s house is the best place to get into mischief!
Yep…and she defends me against mom too!
No one house can contain your mischief, glad you got to spread the love!
🙂 Thanks!
I love visiting Grandmas i get spoiled, i only get turkey at Christmas though.
Sheba.
Well, once a year is better than nothing!
I’m going to go visit my Granddad this weekend Emma…wonder if he will make a turkey for me? Wouldn’t that be super! He’s a good baker too, so maybe there’ll be cookies…Oh Dog I can’t wait…Hope my weekend is as fun as yours was!
Oh I bet it will be super fun no matter what kind of food you get…I am sure he will spoil you 🙂
Emma! You are so lucky to have such a wonderful grandma that gives you healthy treats and lets you get into mischief aty her house AND cooks a mighty fine looking turkey!
I know, we are so lucky to have a super gramma!
It sounds like you have a super nice grandma! And, to get to taste some of the turkey she made is really nice!
We are spoiled…mom and gramma always let us “sample’ stuff 🙂
Oh Emma, you look exhausted waiting for that turkey to cook. Why do those silly birds take so long in the oven, anyways?! Glad to see you got right in there for the pre-wash cycle. That is the best.
*Cairn cuddles*
Oz
It was exhausting waiting for it to cook and is smelled so good too!
How awesome that you get to go to Grandma’s house. Bailey used to one of his Grandma’s until she moved to FL. Katy never got to visit her house. Now they only get to see the grandparents when they come here.
That is a bummer but at least they come and visit! When we lived in Germany we never got to see the family either.
Sounds like a wonderful day, especially the wabbits and the turkey!
the brown dawgs
It was!
Major mischief for sure.
😉
Oh Emma,
How did you resist eating all that Turkey buddy? You were so close!!
Good jobs keeping an eye on the Squirrels and cleaning up for everyone – you’re such a good doggie!!
Wags to all
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
That turkey was piping hot…otherwise I would have done the nab and run – LOL!
Aww you guys looked like you had so much fun at grama’s house! I can’t get over the chef hat, never will, too cute!
Thanks…I kind of like wearing it 😉
It’s nice to know that you’re as enthusiastic as I am about keeping the kitchen floor clean!
Oh, I clean floors at any house!
Grandma’s house is so much fun, and we love Turkey Mom always gives us some. You guys had a fun day:-)
Grammas are great at spoiling us 😉
