A few days ago a miracle happened and spring actually remembered to come and pay a visit to Minnesota! Unfortunately, the visit lasted only 5 days and then winter came back. Hopefully spring will return again in a few days and stay for good! On one of the first really nice days, mom took us to a place we had not been to before – Thomas Lake. We love exploring new places and sniffing all the new smells.
Since the snow had just melted everything was still pretty much brown and dead, so it looked almost more like fall than spring but we did not care, it was 70 degrees and we were enjoying it! As usual, I was the pack leader walking way out front on my flexi leash. If someone is coming by I go back to mom and walk by her, but when we are along it makes exploring so much more fun since I have lots of room to move around and for some reason, mom is not into off road hiking like I am. My sister tends to stay back by mom since she is older and not quite as speedy as I am.
The place was called Thomas Lake because there is a smaller lake there and they had a little fishing pier we could go out on. I really wanted to skip the pier and just go in the lake but mom doesn’t like me getting all wet at the end of a walk unless it is really hot out. The ice was off of about half of the lake, so that was also good to see…I can feel the beginning of swimming season!
That was another fun fitness field trip with mom and my sister. We all love getting out and finding new places to walk and play, it keeps our walks interesting!
On another subject, my friend Kirby nominated me for the “I am part of the WordPress Family” blogging award! Thank you so much for thinking of me Kirby! As always, there are some rules that come with the award, I have done the first two, but I just don’t know who all to nominate, lots of my friends that I have thought of already have the award and then I have so many friends that I love that don’t use WordPress, so I am going to decline to nominate 10 blogs. If you are my friend and don’t yet have this award, feel free to take it from me!
1. Display the award logo on your blog. done
2. Link back to the person who nominated you. done
3. Nominate 10 others you see as having an impact on your wordpress experience and family
4. Let your 10 Family members know you have awarded them
5. That is it. Just please pick 10 people that have taken you as a friend, and spread the love
Today I am participating in the very important FitDog Friday blog hop hosted by SlimDoggy, Peggy’s Pet Place and To Dog With Love. Dogs and their humans staying fit is a topic that is super important to my mom and we hope this blog hop will encourage other pet parents to get out and exercise with their furry ones! Show your support on this topic by stopping by the hop and saying “woof” to a few other blogs or better yet, join in the FitDog Friday blog hop yourself!

Mollie and Alfie
Thanks guys 🙂
I wish Michigan would learn from so many states that have “pet-friendly” gorgeous parks. You wouldn’t believe the number of parks here that are GORGEOUS that do NOT permit pets! You are so lucky! Congrats on your WELL DESERVED award too!
You guys are so lucky that mom takes you to beautiful places and that you get such wonderful exercise. I think mom should open a human/doggie spa. Katie and I can come visit.
We have a guest room and always invite guest to come along with us 🙂
It’s good to lead isn’t it Emma? I always take the lead with Momz so I can make sure there’s no scary stuff up ahead…Glad you had some nice weather finally and hoping that Spring comes back real soon…Congrats on your award
Watching it snow again right now but starting tomorrow it should be warming up again.
What a pretty place for a walk! You have such wonderful scenery there!
Lot of woods and lakes 🙂
Wonderful pictures – looks like such a fun time for the family!! Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks, happy weekend to you as well!
Emma, so glad you got a taste of summer. I feel pretty lucky to live in California, so we have pretty good weather all the time. That looks like a cool park – I love parks with water. Say hello to Katie for us – thanks for joining the Blog Hop!
thanks for hosting! We are totally up for promoting fitness!
That looks like a great place for a walk. I love the lake. I am so glad you got some spring, if only for a minute.
A minute was about it as I watch it snowing right now…but Monday 70’s, so there is hope!
Congratulations on the award! We had a little spring too and now it is cold and rainy. We wish it would just get nice out and stay that way! Have a great weekend!
Woof! Woof! YES saw in the news that you guys got some new snow. Glad you enjoyed some sunny days. It’s a beautiful place to go for a walk. How come katie is not wearing her Pawz? Stay Warm. Happy FitDog Friday. and Park Day 2.0. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
It is snowing again right now…so tired of that! Katie has 2 kinds of shoes, and she only wears it on her back left paw. We have a heavy duty one for longer walks because the way she drags her paw her claw saws through the pawz shoe quickly on longer walks. Mom also tries to keep the shoe out of the pics, Katie would be embarrassed because she is the fine lady type of dog 😉 She wore her pawz shoe this morning, just depends on where and how long we are walking.
Congrats! Love the pictures. This trail looks beautiful!
Thanks, it was fun and lots of good sniffing!
“The ice is almost gone.” No way no how you’d find me in that lake. 🙂
Crazy isn’t it…and it is still snowing…hello, it is May 3rd!!! I may move to the North Pole for some better weather!
I was worried the snow might never leave you guys alone! Looks like you had a blast.
It was only 5 days and now we are on our 3rd day of May and the 3rd day of snow…Help!
I’m so glad spring has found you and hope it sticks around! Here we have tulips and daffodils blooming and my lilac bush is blooming. Spring is so much fun for people and dogs!
Oh we love lilacs! That is the only time we see mom actually sniffing around like us dogs! Hopefully starting Monday it will be here to stay!
I am glad you finally got a visit from Spring. I am sure the bushes will start sprouting soon and won’t be so brown.
It will happen all of the sudden, brown to green overnight I bet!
That looks like a beautiful park! You sure got some wonderful pictures with the blue sky. The brown dawgs would have wanted to swim too…lol.
I just don’t see why mom doesn’t want me to swim, I am not too cold but she has an issue with it.
Emma the brown dawgs don’t get to swim long if there is still ice on the water, even with their fancy vests. 🙂
It sure looks like you and Sis had a mighty fine bark in the park!!!
Woof!
Being outside and going on adventures is so much fun and you get fit at the same time! Yay! 🙂
Wags to all,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Aroooo!!!
That looks like a very nice new park you got to visit, Emma. I love the photo of you singing.
Hopefully you will be able to swim soon!
I love to sing, not sure if mom loves it or not 😉
What a lovely place to visit:-)
Congrats on the award Ems xx
Thanks, Misaki!
Thanks for sharing another fit dog park hike, Emma. What lovely blue skies and blue waters.
Thanks! We are always out pawing around somewhere, so why not share!
I love exploring new places, but it can be hard with Delilah as she has her sniffer to the ground and goes like the wind. (I’m the kite behind her.)
My sniffer is pretty busy too but I listen pretty well when mom says heads up, and I like to keep pawing forward so it all works out for us.
