My ears are tied up, my Garmin is on, hydration is strapped around my waist, and I am heading off to K9 Kamp!
I am super honored and excited to be a featured blogger in the K9 Kamp hosted by Kol’s Notes and Peggy’s Pet Place! As you know, my Kuvasz sister Katie, mom and I love to eat but we also love to stay fit and we feel so strongly about keeping pups fit that so this is a great opportunity for us! Thank you so much to Kol’s Notes and Peggy’s Pet Place for allowing us to be a part of K9 Kamp. Stop by their sites for the whole scoop on K9 Kamp!
It is super important that you have a fitness routine with your dog. Fitness is a marathon, not a sprint, so you need to be in it for the long haul. In our home it has been a bit more challenging as I am a short and long breed and my sister is a big dog with long legs and she is also 4 years older than I am. Since the day I arrived mom has made sure to include fitness into our routine on a daily basis and it is something that we just do and we enjoy! I think it also strengthens the bond we have with mom. Now with my sister being a senior dog and having some arthritis issues our routine has changed. We no longer run with mom. Sometimes I run but she finds it just as easy to run alone and then walk with us. Mom tries to find more soft ground areas for our longer walks as it is easier for my sister. Sometimes Katie skips the midday walk and I go alone with mom or if we have a friend staying with us the friend and I go. Walking is our main activity but there are so many things to do and options out there that will keep your dog and you fit! Fitness is easy and fun, you just have to put that first paw out the door and get moving!
I look forward to posting some of our ideas, suggestions and routines with you in the coming weeks. Even if you aren’t a featured blogger, any blogger interested is welcome to join in and post about why you’re joining in Kamp, what you do to stay fit or what new things you are going to try.
Since K9 Kamp is all about staying fit, I am of course joining in the FitDog Friday blog hop sponsored by SlimDoggy, Peggy’s Pet Place and To Dog With Love stop by and see what other dogs are doing to stay fit!
Golden LAUGHS on your hydration system. LOVE it! It is very important to hydrate. Happy walking with your mom and Katie. Golden Woofs, Sugar
Mom let me borrow her marathon stuff and I love to drink water…hard with the paws to open those bottles, though!
Love the shorts and the watch. Your mom is right! Exercise is so important!
Thanks, we love exercising together because it is fun and healthy and then we can eat more snacks 😉
Emma you are up for the challenge for sure! That hydration system of your rocks and I just love your attire in general! You are just something else Emma! Love you!
Thanks…mom says I need to be prepared so I try!
Oh Emma we just spat out our coffee, you look wonderful..BOL You are too funny, love the ears tied up.. Happy keep fitting 🙂 xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Sorry about the coffee mess 😉 I love running, walking, all that outdoor stuff so it will be fun!
Emma, you’re looking a little like Olivia Newton John in “Let’s Get Physical”…you go girl. Maggie is a little jealous of your cute scrunchy. Guess mom will have to get one for her. Thanks for joining the Hop – we are psyched about Kamp too – see you there! I’ll be the on with the sweatband 😉
Yay! Exercise rocks!
Emma, you have the cutest workout gear I’ve ever seen! I am super jealous!
Also, congrats on the move to being a self-hosted blog! We saw the announcement, but we’ve been super short on time lately.
Bunny
I know, mom has been crazy busy with work, my usual stuff and then moving to self hosted…stressed out! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Emma, you look awesome! I will have to check out the K9 camp, looks like something we would fit into perfectly.
You guys would fit perfectly. It is all about staying fit and you sure do that with all your hiking adventures!
You sure look all set and we are looking forward to hearing all about it!
I’m one ready hound 🙂
Thanks to you, I started the day with a great big smile!! Now I’d say you definitely got dressed for the occasion! Is that a sports bra you’re wearing?! OMD you are soooo adorable!! Thanks for joining K9Kamp and I know we’re in for a treat having you aboard!
Fun is my style and yes, it is a sports bra, but they don’t sell them for dogs so some of my “stuff” is not covered…oh well 🙂 Looking forward to the Kamp challenge!
LOL Looks like you’re all set! I love your outfit lil one! Have fun!
I am ready to roll on out…mom wanted me to be totally prepared!
OMD! You are so funny!! I’m still laughing. Rocco is long and short too, but smaller than you are. We’ll need to find a good scrunchy now!
Mom saw him around at Blogpaws, I am 40 lbs, so I am bigger and maybe a bit taller…have to have the ears up for a good workout!
You look fantastic in all your workout gear! Can’t wait to see you around at K9 Kamp!!!
Woof!
OMD! You look radiant in your workout gear! I wonder if Luna wants to put her ears up too. See you at Kamp!
It actually feels good and sometimes I do it just to let them air out…when I am napping 🙂 Soft scrunchies don’t hurt or anything.
Emma, your outfit is priceless! I just love the ears especially! I am sure it has brought a smile to everyone’s face that has seen it, here and on Facebook. Can’t wait to hear your ideas and suggestions for K9 Kamp. You and your family have been a big inspiration for our crew, you have already helped motivate us to get out there so much more.
Yay! I love to hear that. The great outdoors is a wonderful place for the mind and the body! I have heard from lots of folks that they enjoyed my outfit 😉 I am just one crazy pup!
Cute pic, Emma! You look like the hubs when he was training for the Ironman (back in the days before he messed up his knees!). Well, minus the scrunchy holding your ears back anyway.
We love to eat and (try to) keep fit too! It’s all about calories in/calories out.
Exactly with the calories 🙂 Good you said he didn’t need the scrunchy for his ears…mom has seen some men with large ears but not that large LOL!
Your shorts are just too cute!
Thanks 🙂
Love the picture…lol.
Thank you, have to dress for success!
Oh wow, looking all geared up! I think you’re going to do great! 🙂
I am ready for sure!
HOLY WOOF! That picture of Emma ROCKS MY WORLD. I love it and her and you. You’re amazing. I am so glad you’re joining us for Kamp!
Arroooo…it’s not just what you do, it’s how you look! I am ready for this challenge! Happy Kamping!
Hey Emma,
It’s great to see you at Kamp buddy!
I feel totally unprepared now I’ve seen you though! Look at all your gear, you sure won’t go thirsty! Love your watch and as for your hair, don’t give my Mum any more ideas! 🙂
Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Well, it is really my ears that are up in a pony, my hair is not that long 🙂 I love to drink water so I have to have plenty with me. See you around Kamp!
You look prepared for anything, Emma! 🙂
My mom runs alone and walks with me, too. She has short legs, but mine are way shorter so it works better that way!
Finn
If your mom had short legs like a dog I would be worried 😉 I like it better walking with her than running anyway!
You are so cute Emma! Awesome outfit!
Thanks…have to be ready for fitness you know!
Great post about staying fit with the pups. I am with you on the challenges of exercising dogs of different heights, ages, and athletic abilities! I suppose the answer would be to take them on separate hikes–don’t usually find the time, but I’m working on it!
Mom doesn’t like to exclude either of us, so that is why she is running alone mostly, but for now we still all walk together, we just go a bit slower for my older sister.
Tasha the dog here; Mom and I always walk. I like walking at night or early morning. I have a black coat so can’t take the hot sunlight.
Wow that picture – there are no words!! The way you suffer for your blog – i hope you got extra treats!
Oh, no suffering…when mom says photo shoot I come running, doesn’t bother me a bit…I like to be a goofy pup 🙂 Yes, I get plenty of rewards, that’s why I have to work out!
Wow, you are super prepared! Are you trying to get brownie points for the Kamp counselors? Ha, ha.
A girl has to do all she can and sometimes being cute and/or fit might not be enough 😉
Love your hydration belt, my girls make us carry all the water and they drink a lot! Have fun on your walks 🙂
I love to drink lots of water and that for some reason makes my mom happy 🙂
Absolutely love your outfit!!
Thanks…mom and I wear the same size so I can borrow her stuff! Amazing!
You look more than ready to go Emma!
I’m always up for the next event!
