As you know I live in Minnesnowta where July is the only month on record without a snowfall! Yikes! Sometimes I have to wonder why we moved here! Normally we plant our pretty flowers by mid-May but this year since we had snow until May 3rd, things were a bit delayed. It has been exceptionally cold, so mom wanted to wait to get our flowers and then she went off to Blogpaws so we had to put it off for yet another week. Finally, she went out and got flowers so all that was left was for me to plant them in our pots for her.
We have several larger pots on our deck, so I figured the best plan of attack would be to load those plants into the wheelbarrow and take them around back that way.
I use my old pool that has some leaks to put my dirt mixture in so it doesn’t make a big mess on the deck. I can mix it up nicely in there and then easily scoop it into my pots.
After I get the dirt, the plants and some more dirt in the pot I need to get my paws in there and pack it down a bit to keep the plants in place.
Yep, the first one is done! I think it looks pretty and it kind of matches my gardening outfit and tools. Now I just have 3 more to plant on the deck and 2 out front.
Once you finish planting, don’t forget to stop and take a moment to sniff your hard work!
Welcome to Monday Mischief – The pet blog hop that wraps up the weekend! This Blog Hop is brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies and Luna, A Dog’s Life
That is just too funny Em, you did all that without help, you sure are a super clever girl, I could of come over and helped with the mud..BOL ..Love your flower pot xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Emma- you are the best. Your potted plants look almost as pretty as you!
I don’t think that is mischief at all! I think you are one great helper/gardener! Your photos are always just so fabulous!!
Thanks Dakota, but getting my paws in the dirt can be mischievous!
Em you are great. You should be
on the model catwalk, I mean runway!
You did a fabulous job and your mom sure took some wonderful pictures! Hope the snow is over for you for a bit. 🙂
Golden LOVE it Emma. Wish we live closer. Gardening is FUN. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Emma, so much hard work. I hope mom rewarded you with some nice treats…or better yet – a trip to the BEACH!
You had some great tips in this Emma! Love the idea of putting the dirt in the pool!
We were delayed in getting our flowers and garden planted this year too!
Believe it or not last night outlying areas had frost warnings…but at some point you just have to plant!
I must say Emma, you are the best looking gardener I know!
Awww…thank you 🙂
Wow! Concats! That looks great!
Purrs
Thanks, I bet you kitties would like to dig around in the plants a bit, my kitties get in trouble for that a lot 😉
You look just so pretty in your gardening outfit. The flowers are beautiful too. NIce planting job!
It is not just what you do, it is how you look you know…a girl needs to be stylish 🙂
Emma, you did a wonderful job, so beautiful!
I can’t wait until they grow a bit.
As Luna always says, the sniffing is the best part. Great job!
Especially for us hound types 😉
Nice work! Glad to see your yard green, I was worried the snow might never melt.
Believe me, we have worried about that too!
Emma,
You look great in your gardening outfit! We hope you got treats and belly rubs after all that work.
Bella and DiDi
Oh yes, mom always pays me well for my help!
Emma, what pretty flowers! The planters are pawfect. I hope those flowers bring you smiles all summer long.
*Cairn cuddles*
Oz
They will be great once they grow a bit, but for that we need some sun and warmer weather!
Emma, you need to come visit and give Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie some gardening lessons!
I would love to…it is so fun and easy 😉
Great work, Emma! We could use your keen eye around here! 🙂
That’s a pretty impressive stat to have had snow in every month but July. What a short summer you have!
Well, we have usually 4 good summer months this year is a bit extreme!
EMMAAAAAA! You were MADE for photos!!! And gardening.
Thank you, I just love doing modeling for my mom!
Oh, Emma, you are quite the gardener!! I absolutely adore the photos…two of my favorite things, a cute dog and beautiful flowers. Great job!
Thanks, I love to garden!
Snow until May – yikes! That must be the reason your grass is so green! 🙂
Usually we don’t have snow after March much but this year was extreme!
They were putting you to work this weekend! The planters are looking great, though!
Thank you. Playing with the dirt is more fun than work!
Cute! 🙂
Thanks 🙂
Great job Emma! Your plants look lovely! I live on the same property as my family’s garden nursery. Just got done planting 3 flower beds – so fun!
Wow! you must get some great deals on great plants!
luv the pink hat and the apron as well…we’ve never seen any pooch look so good on gardening attire
Emma I never cease to be amazed by you and how you look so perfect in every photo you take! Your Mom is one brilliant photographer and you are the perfect model!!! You make us smile everytime we see you!
You are one talented girl! I wanna borrow you to help in our yard!
Such a cute, flowery garden hat! 🙂
Thank you, mom picked it out for me 🙂
I love your gardening outfit and your results!
Woof! You have to dress for success…I think I saw that on cable tv?
Wow I am very impressed, as is typist – she loves the paddling pool idea as she was complaining about getting soil everywhere when she was doing her pots last week!
It is quite a good idea that mom had as she hates having to sweep up a mess. Now we can just dump the pool in the grass when we are done 🙂
Emma, these photos are soooo realistic! You are a dog of many talents 🙂
I work hard at my tasks 😉 And what do you mean realistic? I am a real dog doing a job!
You are definitely an experienced gardener Emma and a very neat and organized one too…You can teach my Momz a few things 🙂
I try to keep the mess to a minimum although planting and playing in the mud would be much more fun!
You look so cute in your gardening outfit and did an excellent job with the planting!
Thank you, I just love to be in the middle of everything!
That’s so nice that you are so helpful. Rita just tries to stand in between me and the pots. (Maybe she’s at least *trying* to help.) I can’t believe July is the only month on record with no snow! Yikes! But, on the bright side, you don’t have to work in the yard all year ’round. 🙂
Lawn mowing is more of a hassle than snow shoveling, that is for sure!
Our mommy needs you at our house! You are such a good helper!
I try to help out but I manage to cause trouble and get into mischief too 🙂
Roo Emma I don’t know how you could resist just picking up those plants and shake them about! *waggy tail*
No, I’m not into eating flowers so I didn’t think about doing that.
Eleven months with the possibility of snow. Yikes is right! Nice job planting though…love the idea of using the kiddie pool. And to think we threw ours away last year when Toby “ate” it. 🙁
Oh my, there is always a use for a pool, even one that is broken!
i am sooo impressed with your gardening skills Ems!
I try pretty hard to be a good helper dog 😉
Aren’t you clever! I mostly just bury sticks and small logs, and big logs, in fact any kind of stick at all.
I bury the bottom parts of the flower plants, but I am not big into burying things since my sister would just dig them up and steal them.
Emma, I could sure use your help, I’m not much of an outdoors/gardening type of gal. 😉 Anytime you want to head to Stone Manor, just give me a shout.
We just have potted plants, no garden so we keep it simple and easy 🙂
You have been busy! They’re lovely photos. Was Katie grabbing a nap while you were doing all that?
She is the laziest dog! She just hangs our and looks pretty while I work my little furry behind off 😉 I guess she feels that since she is almost 11 she deserves a break.
Ha ha! But I’m sure if she saw a threat to you, she’d be straight into action!
Oh yes, I actually cause a lot of trouble because I call her to action a lot which mom does not appreciate! She would kill for me or mom, no doubt 🙂
