This is the final week of K9 Kamp! Not only has the fitness regime heated up, but the summer temperatures have too. Since there is nothing better than a refreshing snack after exercising I decided to post these healthy yet tasty K9 Kamper Snacks. The basic recipe is nothing new, just the form to make them in is new. Because of their size they are practical for all sizes of dogs. ***Note, keep a close eye on your cat…he may try to steal ingredients while pretending to be helping you!
My mom learned how to make lots of different chocolate items from Gramma, but one of her favorites is making chocolate covered cherries and this is where I got the idea for these snacks from. I thought, why not use the yogurt in place of the chocolate and then add fresh fruit instead of the sugared up cherry stuff mom uses. The photo below shows the 3 stages, painted exterior, add fruit, cover fruit. So simple, even a dog can do it!
Simply polish up a cherry mold and using a paint brush paint a coating o plain non fat yogurt in each shape. Put the mold in the freezer to harden. Add a piece of fruit like a blueberry and cover with more yogurt. Put back in the freezer for an hour or so to harden.
Remove the mold from the freezer and pop out the yogurt covered fruits in their pretty bite sized shape. These are great for dogs of any size since they are pretty small. We eat them outside to avoid any mess if the yogurt starts defrosting.

Enjoy!

OMD, you are killing me..BOL, counter surfing yesterday, wonderful cookery class today, you rock Em xx00xxx
Mollie and Alfie
Emma – looks to me like mom is endorsing the counter surfing. Those treats look pretty tasty too – going to have to get mom to try them.
No, she does not like counter surfing but when I am baking or cooking I have to be at the counter 😉
OMD that looks delicious. Oh, NEVER trust the cats 🙂
I know, my cat was just waiting for me to leave so he could steal!
The key to to use the right “mold’ So cool and we love the idea. I see your little “kitty … Happy Tasty Tuesday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
That is Bert, he is always wanting to help in the kitchen but we can’t trust him…he steals all the time! 🙂
One thing I know about you Miss Emma…you’re always cooking up something good!
That’s right…I love to eat, so I have to keep on exercising to keep my GBGV figure 🙂 Mom says we exercise so we can eat more!
Love the recipe and the outfit!
Thanks…I love to help in the kitchen and I sell my aprons in my store too 🙂
Great idea and great recipe too! What’s the point of working so hard at Kamp if you end up stuffing your face with stuff that is bad for you?
Well, a bully stick here and there isn’t that bad…just have to walk or run a bit more now and then 😉
Hold on, how are you not going to mention that I’m looking at a photo of you wearing an outfit that you are also wearing in another photo that is on your apron. My mind is blown.
I have my aprons for sale in my store…had to buy one for myself…child size for me 😉
Yum!! And Mom loves treat making this is pretty simple like that! We hope to have fresh blueberries and strawberries from our garden so we can give these a try!
They are great and refreshing!
What a clever idea Emma…Momz sez we don’t have cherry molds but we do have a bunch of mini muffin tins that are about the same size so we’re gonna freeze up a batch! Thanks for the great idea
My mom has a bunch of candy molds so I can use those if I want to but there are many ways to get a similar finished product.
Oh my dog, Emma! These would be a great snack for kids, using vanilla yogurt! Way cool!
You mean kids without fur??? I bet that would work great for that too!
Those look delicious!! Once our kitchen is no longer in boxes, Luna and I will have to make some!
Oh heck, just buy a paint brush, cherry mold, yogurt and fruit, make them and serve on top of the boxes! Post photo too 🙂
Those look tasty!
Nola
Believe me, they are!
These look delicious and you and your photo-bombing kitty are hilarious! Love you Emma!
Your pals,
Diane and Rocco
That cat bro Bert needs to get his own cat life…he is always trying to be a dog like me and it sure gets on my nerves! Thanks for stoppin’ by 🙂
Wow those look great and very easy. Our dogs get yogurt with every meal. Maybe someday I will organize myself to make those.
Wow, what luxury! We get to lick out the yogurt container with breakfast but no yogurt with dinner – we love yogurt!
We started because Thunder needed the probiotic after his bloat surgery. Better than a drug. It really helped him so now they all get it as a probiotic. 🙂
So what you are saying is…if I make these…I’m supposed to share with the DOGS?!?! Hmmm..not sure if I can do that! LOL
If you use plain, low fat yogurt you will…if you use vanilla yogurt, you won’t 😉
Such a great idea. Will deffo try these:-)
Yummerz!
Wow! Not only do they sound delish, they look so pretty!
Perfect for a summer dog party 🙂
What a great idea – and so easy!
Easy and yummy!
Pawsome treats! We are definitely going to serve those at K9 Kamp!
They are yummerz!
I can see that cat sneaking in while you were concentrating.
He is always sneaking around when food is involved…the cat is obsessed with food!
