This has been a busy time and I think it will continue for the next month or so. We have so much going on with my B&B, Mom’s birthday is coming up, I’m trying to finish up my book, and all the other stuff I usually do like wabbit and squirrel hunting.
My friend Buddy spent 10 days over the Fourth of July with us. We always have a great time with the little fellow! As a surprise, cousin Lena ended up spending the long holiday weekend with us, so I had 2 dogs at my B&B! We had so much fun together, but by Sunday we were four dead dogs! We taught Mom how to walk four dogs at one time. She did really well except for the first block or two every walk when we all needed to “use the WC”. This is the best photo she could get since she needed long leashes to get us in the pic and she could only hold 3 flexi leashes in one hand, and she needed the other hand to take a pic. I will have more on my B&B guests on my Mischief Monday post.
I won a Frosty Paws backpack set from my friends at 2 Brown Dawgs! Thanks friends, I love it and so does Mom! I wasn’t expecting too much, but was looking forward to the Frosty Paws ice cream. The backpack arrived and Mom and I were amazed! What a great thing, an insulated backpack – super cool! There is a water bottle, a water bowl that folds into a zipper pouch, a box you can freeze and use to keep things cool, bone shaped poop bag dispenser, and a coupon for free Frosty Paws. Mom wanted to get the Frosty Paws when my friends were here – four dogs, four ice cream treats, but she came home from the store with devastating news! Can you believe our entire area was sold out of Frosty Paws!!! I almost dialed 911! Mom checked the stores that usually carry Frosty Paws and they were all out. They also checked other area stores and all were out! Sorry, no photos of us eating Frosty Paws, just me and my cool backpack and supplies.
Another surprise was winning a $25 gift certificate for Elk Antlers from Dachshund Nola. We have never had antlers and being rather expense we never thought to try them. Using my gift card, I ordered up a couple for my sister Katie and I. They arrived in a few days’ time and we tried them out. I was so excited I tried to eat the package! I will post a review on how those antlers faired on Tasty Tuesday.
My sister is getting her moment of fame in Two Pear Design’s Inspire magazine this month. Karin Newstrom Photography submitted one of Katie’s photos from our photo shoot last winter and it was chosen. Go big sister go! (No, that dog nose under the fence is NOT me.)
***I am finally on Instagram! Just set up my account yesterday. Come and follow me, my name is no surprise – mygbgvlife
Last but not least, I received the “My Favorite Things Award” from Kirby’s Dog Blog. Thank you so much Kirby. As part of this award I need to list 6 of my favorite things, so here it goes and most will not be any surprise!
- Wabbits
- Squirrels
- My stuffie Bunny
- Snuggling with mom
- Swimming
- Eating snacks
That is all the follow up for this Friday! Have a great weekend!
Today this post is a follow up Friday blog hop participant hosted by Heart Like A Dog and cohost Donna and the Dogs.
Katie and I feel like couch potatoes after reading how busy you and your Mom are. Well done. Hope you get some well deserved rest this weekend. Wish you lived closer so we could visit your B&B.
I wish you lived closer too. I am sleeping a lot, pretty tired out but mom has to keep going like the Energizer Bunny!
I think Mom should buy me some of those Frosty Paws! I’m sure I would love them! I’m a big chewer so Mom bought me one of those antlers when I was teething. I don’t use it too much, because I prefer things with a little flavor. Have a great weekend! 🙂
They do have flavor, I could smell them through that bag but they are a lot of work!
Congratulations Katie! That is awesome! You guys sure are busy! We don’t know how you do it! Have a great weekend 🙂
I do a lot of napping to keep myself resting but mom has to keep going and going!
Oh my goodness, you sure are busy! Congrats on the nice award too!
Thank you. July is going to be jam packed so my cats are teaching me how to cat nap for energy 🙂
Wow, it sure is fun having friends over for the holiday like that. Congrats on the frosty paws pack, that’s so awesome. And congrats on the award too! Have a great weekend!
Having almost too much fun around here! Hopefully we can find some actual Frosty Paws around here again soon.
Woof! Congrats on all your winnings and award! You’re in such a lucky streak that we hope you’re buying lottery tickets!
Oh yes…good idea. I better tell my mom that.
Wow…so busy. But what fun you have going on. Have a great weekend!
A fun overload I think!
Hey Emma, great FUF. Thanks so much for joining us!
I can’t believe mom managed to walk four dogs, I can barely manage two! The worse part is the poop patrol. Someone stops and I go to pick it up only to realize the other someone is doing the same thing a little ways away!! I bow to mom’s superior dog walking skills. 🙂
We got a frost paws pack too, it is a wonderful prize and we are excited to use ours.
Have a great weekend!!
There are so many hops on Friday I try to juggle them for what fits best 🙂 That Frosty Paws pack is amazing! Now if only we could get our paws on some Frosty Paws!
Wow what a busy time you have had.. my Humom finds it hard to walk be never mind 4 BOL.. Have a wonderful Weekend Emma xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Sometimes it was quite funny 😉
Your B&B is busy-busy this summer!! I bet it must be lots of fun having extra dogs around to play with!
It is lots of fun but we are always happy when we have mom all to ourselves again. Guest dogs seem so needy at times 🙂
What a great post! Busy is GOOD! Congrats to your sister!
Thanks! My sister is so beautiful so she deserves some fame too!
That first photo is intense, mom is a champ! Also, I won’t show Eko your frosty paws swag or he will get jealous – FP are his absolute favorite summertime treat, thanks for reminding me to go pick some up.
Hope you have more luck than my mom did…she is going to check again this weekend to see if they are stocked again. Mom says just walking the two of us has gotten so easy after having 3 and 4 for a while.
Wow, that’s a lotta exciting news! Congrats on your winnings! And congrats to Katie on getting in the magazine. That first photo makes me think of “Ghostbusters” – “don’t cross the streams!” That’s what me and my sis say when we are walking our pups and the leashes criss-cross. (But then, we’re odd…)
That is good advice! Sometimes we did cross and that was the beginning of leash salad – LOL!
Great week Emma! Momz sez no way she could get a photo while walking that pack…Love your Frosty Paws prize…you’re very lucky to win that! Sorry about the temporary outage but I’m sure they’ll be back in stock soon…And that picture of Katie is so beautiful…You are two of the most photogenic dogs I know
It took lots of practice and 3 days before she could get us all in one hand and the camera in the other but then she realized that the dogs on the shorter leashes were barely in the photo…best she could do but not bad one handed with 4 leashed dogs!
Wow….lots to catch up on here…glad for Follow-up Friday. Very cool wag swag you won there…and tell Katie congrats on her photo debut.
I gotta hand it to your mom for walking four of you at once…most times I can’t even manage to walk two at a time!
She got pretty good at it pretty quickly. I think we could sense her attitude was serious, so we didn’t pull our usual tricks 😉
I think your Mom needs to find a hands free leash, Emma. I can’t imagine trying to juggle all those leashes and take a photo too! I have enough trouble with one or two!
Yay for all your prizes and awards, and Katie getting in that magazine. Boo to the stores being out of Frosty Paws!
Oh boy, with a hands free leash she would be flat! Something like a squirrel goes by and she would topple in no time 🙂 Hopefully Frosty Paws will be restocked soon!
Good one, that just made me laugh out loud, Emma! I’ve been thinking of trying one, but now I wonder….we saw a deer on our run yesterday, and Sheba was pretty excited!
Your mom is pretty HANDY! Your were a big winner all around this week! Yay for you! You’ll like that antler – we have antlers here all the time. We get them from our friendly hunters. They last forever which is a good thing around here. Good luck finding the Frosty Paws. Maybe you should just make your own!
We do make our own ice cream but we got the coupon for free Frosty Paws and we wanted to have some with my cool new Frosty Paws gear. The antlers do sure last, that is for sure!
Goodness Emma, you and your mom sure are busy! I’m tired just reading this post. Wait. A book? I didn’t know about that!
Looks like you got a bunch of great Frosty Paws stuff from 2 Brown Dawgs. Free swag is the best, right? Too bad you didn’t get to eat any that day. That’s okay. I’m sure mom will make it up to you with some awesome homemade treats. She’s a whiz in the kitchen. What? Oh right, I mean you… you’re the master chef. What was I thinking?
Hope you got some split antlers, those are supposed to be the best… since the tasty marrow is already exposed.
Yes, I am putting my book out this fall, it will be fun! Still no Frosty Paws in our area…at least we have homemade ice cream 🙂 I love the antlers, they are a lot of work, though.
Emma, can’t believe I didn’t get over to visit you this weekend…wow what a busy week you had, so many cool things going on. Poor mom, walking four of you must be tough, my momz can barely handle the two of us. Are you going to share all your goodies with your B&B guests?
Mom has taught Katie and I to always share. In a multi-pet household, as you know, it is a necessity. We are fortunate to always have plenty, so sharing is okay with me 🙂
I am catching up from a weekend away. I love your photo shoot for the Frosty Paws pack. Very nice. I am glad you liked it, but bummer on the sold out Frosty Paws. I’d mail you some, but, well…
Love Katie’s pic in the magazine and your Mom’s picture of 4 dogs at once on a walk. She is really gifted. 🙂
Finally, congrats on your award! Well deserved.
Mom finally found a package of Frosty Paws yesterday. With all the hot weather, I guess lots of dogs have been asking for them 🙂 We have our homemade ice cream, so it is not a total disaster when they are all out.
