The yearly vet visit at our house always takes place in September. Mom loads all of us dogs and cats in the car and off we go. Except for cat bro Bert, no one wants to go to the vet. We went through a lot of vets before we found the Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital. In my opinion, all vets are bad news, but this clinic seems to really know their stuff. The humans are all over the top friendly, and not at all stingy with passing out the treats. Mom likes them because they care about us pets more than making a fast buck. They don’t perform unnecessary tests, or administer shots that we don’t really need. The vets explain everything to Mom so she can decide, and do what she feels is the best for us. This is so very important! Before I get into all the mischief we five caused in our two hour visit, I want to say that we are all healthy. Katie had senior testing done and everything came back great. We are all at a good weight, good muscle tone, and pretty decent teeth. Well, Bert is the exception, he needs to go in for a cleaning but he is the only one. No one in our family has ever had to have teeth cleaned, but on the positive side, he lost about 1.5 pounds since last year and is no longer overweight.
Katie, Bailie, and I were ready to roll as soon as we were called, the cats are in a carrier, so someone has to bring them. I wore my DoodiePack so I could carry my book and business cards to promote my new book to the people at the clinic.
I got involved right away to make sure that I did not get any extra shots or anything. The vet and the tech obviously needed my help.
Bert found the dog treat jar right off the bat and was determined to steal treats for himself. He is such a menace!
Sophie did not really want to come out of the carrier, but since I was there she tested the area a bit.
Bailie found the garbage pail right away and started hauling trash out of it, so we had to put it on top of the desk…puppies, how embarrassing!
I decided the best thing to do would be to hide. No one would find me in the corner under the desk!
Bert continued his naughtiness walking around the keyboard. Who knows what he was going to type into our records! You can see the guilt on he face!
Rats! I was found under the desk and had to get examined after all!
Well, that was fun…not…hope we don’t have to see you nice folks again until our heart worm tests in the spring! I know you are all nice but I still prefer to steer clear of the vet. Bailie will have to go back for shots and to get spayed, but that is not my problem, thank goodness!
I have heard that some people are having ads pop up when they go to comment. If this is happening to you, can you tell me what the ad is for and has it been happening for a while or is it something new? I don’t want that to be happening.
I’m joining in the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies

Bawahwhahwa you guys caused a riot in there. Bert after the dog bikkies, too funny. I hate the vets but that sure looks a nice FOR a Vets..BOL xxooxx
Mollie and Alfie
It is a nice place, but it is still the vet, so I don’t like to go there. Bert has the time of his life and looks forward to going there!
Did not know you had 2 cats. Oh My! Did you get a new car too. I see that Bert found where are the Tasty Treats. Golden Glad everything was GOOD. Happy Monday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Yes, we have cats. The house is now full! No new car, enough new stuff right now without a new car. We are all happy to be healthy. Bailie has to go back for a shot today but I get to stay home, nice for Katie and I. Happy Monday!
We have taken all our animals to the vet. It can be quite an event…lol. Looks like everything went smoothly and I am glad to hear that all are healthy. The pictures are great and I am impressed with all that going on your mom got pictures.
I have not seen ads.
It was two hours of chaos with Mom trying to take pics when she could. The vet and the tech are super nice and don’t mind everyone running around, so it was fine. It is an event but once a year it is worth it.
you have one brave Mama! Taking all 5 to the vet at once? Wow! I didn’t know you have cats either! You need to be reading my other blog too! http://www.catchatwithcarenandcody.com we have a litter mat give-away going on now 🙂
Mom was originally a cat person, had four cats for many years but then she got into dogs and things changed. Now we have both and it is nice that way. We read few cat blogs but mostly dog blogs. We saw your cat blog when we were talking about the review. I will stop over and take a look again.
You are pretty brave to take all of them at once. I won’t even take my two alone…and make S come with me. I haven’t seen any ads on your comments…but my comments were broken this am…fixed now. Comment devil out and about…
I think it may be an issue with the person commenting as I had some funny stuff show up when I was commenting on blogs this summer but I got rid of it. Just want to make sure my readers aren’t irritated as I don’t want that kind of advertising and as far as I know I don’t have that kind.
That is some mischief at the vets. I think next time I go I should play up and maybe I won’t have to go again. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
You would think all the mischief would make us unwelcome, but the people there love us, and it makes them like us even more. Not good.
Oh my gosh, that is a lot of pets to take at one time to the vet. Mom thought her hands were full with two of us.
It is quite a job, but Mom is used to it. We aren’t adding any more pets, so this will be the max 🙂
Oh wow, I’m impressed with the idea of taking all the pets to the vet at the same time. My gang has to go one at a time, LOL! You’d better watch out with that cat – he might type stuff into your journal to make you go back!
He is just that kind of a cat…always have to keep an eye on what he is up to. Bad enough I took the fall for two years for chewing electrical cords when he was the one that did it!
Yay! Glad to hear that you all had a good visit! I give your Mom credit to taking everyone at once, that is hard work!
I haven’t had any ads pop up.
We all came home and took a nap!
Wow, that’s a lot of pets at the vet at one time… I’m glad you’re all well behaved or there could have been some chaos huh? And, I’m also glad that you’re all so healthy… yeah!
It is a form of sort of organized chaos 🙂
Wow…all five of you at once? I bet your mom had to save all year for that! 😉
Glad to hear you are all healthy, and great idea doing a book promo at the vet. 🙂
We all have to go once a year no matter what, so all at once just makes it easier.
What a crew! You guys sure know how to make an entrance. Glad to hear everyone is healthy.
You are right about that…we do kind of make an entrance and take over the place!
What a handful! I love Emma checking out what’s on the counter. Baile looks so scared can’t wait for her to realize what a wonderful family she feel into.
She is just scared of new stuff. At home she is a happy pup 🙂 She still loves that squirrel in a hole toy. Her latest is that she sticks her entire head in the top and it gets stuck so she wanders around for a bit with the thing on her head, pretty funny.
You look like you you have fun at the doctor! I would not be so good! Wooo!
I would be afraid to be bad, they might give me extra shots or something!
I’m glad you all are healthy! That’s always the best: to come home without bad results from the vet! The desk is not really a good place to hide, I always try to run upstairs when I’m at the vet, because he has his crib above the office. They need hours to get me out there:o)
Wow, quite creative! I thought they would just forget about me if they didn’t see me, but no luck!
Holy smokes…what mischief you all caused at the vet’s office. I don’t trust Bert around the keyboard at all, Emma! I hope you checked what he wrote in your chart and deleted all the baloney he typed!
*Cairn cuddles*
Oz
That room was upside down by the time we left! I do have to watch that Bert because he is quite a naughty fellow!
wow that is quite a room full of cuteness! Kelly hides when we go to the vet’s too. And then she stares at the door to go out. But our vets are super nice and take good care of them.
The vet people are super nice, but I still don’t want to be there. My sister Katie stood by the door the entire time just trembling. Nothing really bad ever happened to us at the vet but we are just scared. It is the same whether it is our first visit ever or the 100th.
All 5 in one tiny exam room looks chaotic! But it’s nice to have vets that are good about it and let everyone get comfortable.
We find that it works best for everyone since no one is singled out only to return home with the “vet smell”. The vets are super friendly, so we just do our thing.
WOW! Thst is quite the Vet pawty!!!
Maybe next year I should bring the doggy beer???
Cute pics! Good idea to hide! Too bad it didn’t work. It was worth a shot! With that hoard in the office, you’d think it would be easy to get lost in the shuffle!
And no pop up ad here – but then, i have pop-ups blocked on Firefox!
Thanks. I think it is this thing that I had get on my computer for a time and when I went to comment on blogs it popped up, but I wanted to make sure it wasn’t something I was causing.
That was my master plan, but they managed to keep track of all of us, darn it!
That looks like a wild but productive visit to the vet! I love how your mom captured everyone’s personality in the photo’s! Looking forward to your next adventure!
It is a crazy time getting us all in the car and then into the exam room, but overall it works well and Mom only has to remember yearly check ups once a year, so no forgetting! Thank you for stopping by 🙂
What “fun”!! 😀 I take all of my cats to the vet together, which at one point was all eight of them, so I feel for you
Mom used to have four cats and a dog. That was a bit easier since the cats were in carriers. It is best doing these things as a family.
Your mom sure had her hands full with all of you. We really like our vet and don’t mind visiting them even if we do get shots or they steal our blood.
Millie & Walter
We don’t know why we are so worried about the vet since nothing really bad ever happened but we are all just scared.
Sounds like a great place to go! I like our vet too because they don’t do unnecessary tests or over-vaccinate. I always thought our pets needed annual shots. How nice to learn that they don’t, and from our vet no less! 🙂
That was one of the first clues that this was a good clinic – on our first visit they asked why we had all the shots on our records from the other vet. They really care about our health.
OMD Emma! Your mom is so brave and industrious to take all five at once. We barely manage taking two at once! And all the great pictures!
I see that your tail is wagging while the tech is getting the Post-It Notes. Clearly she needed help and you were ready to jot down some important stuff for her, especially to ignore anything Bert types.
Good job hiding under the desk… too bad they found you after all. Oh well, at least you don’t have to go back for shots like Bailie.
P.S. I know what the pop-up thing is about… will email you on it, though.
Well, it is one big yearly family affair! Bert is a guy that we all need to keep an eye out on…trouble, capital T. I will check my email.
Vlad & Barkly think their vet’s office is one of the best places on earth. It’s treat heaven–even if it’s only a training trip to be walked around the whole office and say, “Hi!” to everyone. If you act like you’re really happy to see them, you get more treats. They’ll give you treats even if one of you has an appointment and it’s not your appointment.
We get a ton of treats, but I would rather stay home and get less treats, just not keen on the vet place.
Your Mom is ambitious to take you all at once, Emma, but I think that is the best way to do it. Do they give you a multi-pet discount? We usually only take ours two at a time. Sheba always tries to find a place to hide too! I’m glad you have a place to go that your Mom is comfortable with, that is very important, and it sounds like they take good care of you.
We do get the multipet discount which is nice 🙂 This clinic really is great and we are happy to have found it!
Hey Emma
I’m glad you all made it back out of the vets ok, scary stuff! Love your hide under the desk strategy and I love how you like to promote your book and take your briefcase everywhere! Pawsome! 🙂
I’ve been a bit elusive as the humans did the dirty and went on vacation without me and I got shipped to Cosmo’s with no notice! 🙂 I’m gonna snoop around your blog to see if you’re book is available online yet? I really hope so, cos I’m excited!
I hope you’re having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Wow, that is low just leaving you and going on vacation! I would lay a thick guilt trip on them for doing that! My book is available, click on the book on the sidebar 🙂
PS – I just found it and ordered it from Amazon – hurry up mailman, I’m doing my happy dance! 🙂
Wags to all
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Uups…reading comments in order…glad you found it 🙂
OMD! Looks like your mom had her hands full, but it I’m sure the five of you made the trip to the vet entertaining!
It is more fun when we are all there together!
I loved that you are all just loose to roam around the place!! Hiding under the desk was a brilliant idea, usually I press myself up against the door – they don’t get the hint!
My sister Katie does the press against the door technique…she did it for the entire two hours with no results!
Pawsome Emma – you and your pack sure gave the vet a good run for the money *Waggy tail*
We do keep everyone busy as long as we are in the building!
Wow! All 5 at once! You are brave. Ours all go solo. The only pop up is some kind of survey ad that pops up as soon as I begin reading your blog. Sorry, not going to click it to see what it’s about.
No, don’t click on a survey. Thanks for the info. Yes, all five at once is stressful but the best solution.
Brave warrior!!!! It’s really the only way to woof…Trev sends a BIG high paw your way!!!!
I try to be brave bet it is tough at the vet! Woof!
Brave warrior…It’s the only way to woof!!!! Trev sends a BIG high paw your way Emma…that was one busy day!!!! But the best part, is indeed…it’s DONE!!!! Way to woof!!!!
Dog bless your mom Emma. I can’t imagine taking five to the vet at the same time. I steer clear of that, and juggle mine one at a time. Two big dogs are more than enough for me to handle at one time.
I’m glad everyone was okay though!
In Germany she had two big dogs and three cats and took them all at the same time too. I think we can sense that we need to behave because we normally do pretty well.
That does look a friendly place. Hiding did you no good! Katie looks like she was ready to escape through the door if she got a chance.
Katie always leans against the door the entire time and trembles in fear. Nothing bad ever happened but she is terrified!
