The last weekend of October, Bailie and I had some PR work to do. I am trying to get out to events to promote my new book, but I also like to promote my breed since most people have never seen a GBGV and do not know anything about us. When I am out working I wear my Doodiepack with my book in one pocket and my business cards in the other.
Lucky for me I was contacted by Build a Sign. I was so excited, as they offered to send me some products of my choice to review. I ordered up some business cards and some magnets. I have been sharing a business card with Mom for a long time now and it is finally to the point where I feel I need my own business card, so that is what I ordered. The magnets are just like my business card, only a magnet. People love magnets! Crazy as it sounds, I put my magnets in the candy bowl on Halloween and the kids all wanted one! The cards were easy to design, I submitted my order and received my cards and magnets in no time! Build a Sign did an awesome job – they look great! If you need cards, signs, or other business items, I would definitely recommend Build a Sign.
Bailie has gone to a dog chiropractor a couple times now at the Minnetonka Animal Hospital. They asked Bailie to come to their open house and bring me along. I don’t like to go to any place where vets are for any reason, but I agreed to go with Bailie and Mom for promotional reasons. The clinic is not far from Gramma’s house, so we left Katie off there as three dogs would be a bit too much. The open house was really nice. They had different displays throughout the clinic so we could learn about everything from fleas, to surgery, to therapy. Very informative and well done! You might also notice the leopard bandanas that we are wearing. They passed those out at the open house to. We like the wild look!
We hit the table with the food first off! We grabbed some samples and learned a bit more about food and what would be good for us.
I checked out Mr. Pumpkin on the reception desk, he didn’t have much to say.
We toured the acupuncture room…poor Scooby, this kind of creeped me out! I asked Bailie if such things happened to her but she assured me that no one had done put needles in her, and the people at the clinic were friendly and gentle.
Bailie got to choose a toy to take home with her. She picked the Gecko and loves it!
Here we were back in the car with the bag of goodies they gave us. Yes, Bailie now has her own seat belt, the same kind Katie and I wear, and she does really well with it. Another safe rider in the family.
There was also an event at the Union Depot in St. Paul that I wanted to attend called the Doggy Depot. Since I had just had surgery, Mom did not think I should go, so I sent Bailie in my place. Mom dropped me off at Gramma’s on her way to St. Paul. I told Bailie to pass out lots of my cards and try to promote my book. She was happy to go, but she does not get to wear my DoodiePack because:
- It has my name on it, Emma in clear lettering.
- She is way too small, it would not fit her at all.
- The DoodiePack is mine, end of the discussion.
Bailie sure looked small in that big open room!
She found the treats at the radio station table and went wild trying to get all of them! Food monster!
Our friends at Sidewalk Dog.com were sponsors of the event, so she stopped by to give them some kisses and loves. If you are in the Twin Cities they are THE place to go for information on dog stuff – events, places to go, reviews, etc.
Picking up after your dog was a big theme at the event, so Bailie posed by one of the signs for me since I am involved with Sugar the Golden Retriever in the #scoopthatpoop campaign. She was a bit embarrassed but Mom talked her into doing it for her sister.
Now for those of you that think dogs lead an easy life, you can see that this PR work is quite the job!
Disclosure:
Build a Sign sent My GBGV Life business cards and magnets to review. I did not receive compensation for this review. These are my own opinions based on how I feel about the products I received.
I’m joining in the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies
You two have been busy doggies. It is a good thing that treats are available at these places. Love all the pictures.
the brown dawgs
I enjoy a nice treat, but Bailie is absolutely crazy for anything edible (or non edible in some cases).
Oh great and treats too. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Dogs should never work for free 😉
Whew! At least you got paid well for your efforts!
Exactly!
What a busy time – and you still recuperating. But PR is important, so you gotta get out there and do it. At least you get treats and now you get to send Bailie sometimes in your place if you feel like lounging instead of working 😉
I’m learning how to use a little sister to my advantage 🙂 I was a bit sad I missed seeing some friends at the depot, though.
Love that backpack! I don’t know how you guys do it! You are one busy family!
Mom says I am like a full time job for her and then there is the rest of life, but I’m special 😉
You works hard for the money, ummm, treats! Looks like you had a busy Saturday, and I bet your gramma spoiled you so much Emma (and Katie!) <3 you, Maggie the PBGV
Gramma always has good snacks at her place!
Those look like great event to promote yourself. And fun too. Well, maybe not the vet so much. BOL. At least you weren’t the patient that day.
That vet thing made me nervous, but aside from petting and snuggles, nothing happened!
I love you wearing your Doodie Pack and carrying your book and cards Emma…You look so professional…You and Baillie are great marketing reps and I know everyone who meets you will want to read your book and will like it as much as I did…Build-a-Sign is a great company and i was very happy with the magnets and business cards I got…we need to trade magnets 🙂
We can trade magnets, I still have a lot of them. I love wearing my DoodiePack and people love it too. I do the best marketing for my own book I think.
You look amazing Emma in your back pack, hasn’t Bailie grown 🙂 Love the photo’s and how swell you got treats and a toy 🙂 xxoxxx
Mollie and Alfie
Bailie is getting huge fast…I won’t be able to sit on her much longer!
You guys sure have a hectic schedule!! I’m glad you have an assistant who can help you out with that busy workload Emma, and I’m super happy you don’t have to share your business cards with your Mom (how embarrassing that must have been!) – Those magnets sure sound cool! 🙂
Hope you’re having a fun day 🙂
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Yes, I am turning into my own business dog with Bailie and Mom working for me. It is working pretty well 🙂
You always have the funnest weekends! Bailie is growing so fast!
We love to have fun and get out to do things with Mom. It is a bit easier taking Bailie and I around than it would be to take 2 Newfs, but add in my 80 lb sister and it gets more challenging.
Your cards are great! No wonder that all kids want one :o) I feel sorry for Scooby too … the whole time at this place together with vets… but at least they have a lot of treats there :o)
Poor Scooby. I think Bailie may try to steal him at some point when she is there.
You do some amazing stuff! Your mom is so lucky to have all the great help. Magnets for treats – brilliant!
Thanks, we like to do new and fun stuff when we can.
Emma, you are a PR princess! I am glad to see that bailie is willing to help you out from time to time. I love the photo in front of the ScoopyPoo sign…Bailie looks miserable. Doesn’t she know how important it is to #ScoopThatPoop?!?
*Cairn cuddles*
Oz
She is only interested in what goes into her mouth, not what comes out the other end, but she will grow up and understand one day. 🙂
Nice work – literally! You guys know how to hustle. It’s nice to have an understudy as well.
I have to get her trained in so I can put my paws up now and then and let her paws do the pavement pounding…that’s what little sisters are for, right?
Great business cards! And I love the blue gecko!
Thank you, I helped design them! Bailie loves the gecko, carries it all over the house.
Wow, busy busy! It’s a good thing you have your new assistant for when you are not feeling up to working. It’s good that you can “call in sick” when you need to! Hope you’re healing up nicely!
Tomorrow is the doc visit, stitches out…we will see what he says. Bailie is learning, she loves helping me out which is nice.
I like your business cards Miss Emma! Bailey is so sweet and did a very good job in your place.. better keep an eye on her!
She knows I am top dog around here…she likes to do everything I do, so helping me out is not an issue.
You made me tired just reading your post! I think your magnet business cards are a swell idea…I’d order some, but my only business in finding the nearest mud-puddle. 🙂
You can give them to dog friends to promote your blog???
You better watch out Emma, Bailie looks like she’s a natural.
She has an excellent teacher 🙂
Wow, you’ve been busy, Emma! I think it is a very good thing you have a little sister to help you!
She is quite useful at times, but other times she can be real pesty!
What great fun! Really glad to see both of you wearing a dog seat belt!!! 🙂
We are a safe rider family!
Yes, Emma, you are certainly one hard worker! It’s a good thing you had your little sister to help you out when you needed her too. I love your doodie pack and I can see why you would not want to share that! You have to have some things of your own.
Oh, and that was a great idea to put your magnets in the trick or treat bowl!
We were shocked at how much the kids loved them!
You sure do have lots of fun good stuff going on!
Us dogs are pretty busy, need to sleep a lot to recover!
Roooo Emma your new business cards look pawsome and your’re doing a great job promoting your book! And little BAiley is following in her big sisters footsteps – pawsome! *Waggy tail*
Thanks Alfie! Hope you are enjoying life in the USA!
What a bunch of fun pictures. Love the business cards!
It was a fun day 🙂
Ha ha! Food monster – like Kayo! LOL!
Great post and pictures and it’s exciting that you’re moving around promoting your book! We’re working with Build a Sign too and I’m excited to see what they’ve got once we finish our Work the Walk challenge! Happy Mischief Monday!
They showed up at the perfect time for me. I will be joining your hop next month, have it on my calendar. I wanted to see what it was all about first. Happy walking!
Looks like a great day! =D Love the photos! =D
It was fun and I had fun with Gramma when Bailie went to bat for me.
I love seeing pictures of dogs out and about! It’s amazing that we live in a world where we can take them everywhere. Congratulations on the book and the promotion tour 🙂
Thank you! We miss living in Germany where we really could go just about everywhere, but we will take what we can get.
It looks like you had a very busy day. I love the photos.
Thank you…that PR stuff is hard work for sure!
Those pictures of your dogs look great!
Btw, I love BuildASign too. They make it so easy for us to custom design our own signage and their prices are pretty good too.
