Today I’m excited to be co-hostess of Follow Up Friday hosted by Jodi at Heart Like A Dog! Thank you for letting me co-host! Jodi has a fun blog that you should take a peak at if you are not already following her! Follow Up Friday is a blog hop that lets you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend. Being a special day on my blog it makes it even more fun.
This is a big day! Two years ago today I published my first blog post. This photo was me working on my new blog…I think Mom’s photography has also improved over these two years. For one thing, she learned to not use a flash! How can a pup look decent with a flash – don’t know what she was thinking back then! I was a newbie, such a newbie that the url title was hello-world. If you work with WordPress, you know exactly where that title came from, LOL! I had no clue! I started my blog just for fun, to promote my breed, learn about how social media interacts with blogs, and really had no plan. I’m still not sure that I have a real firm plan, but the blog has definitely evolved and will continue evolving. Of course, I wish it was bigger than it is, but I am also happily shocked by all the friends and fans I do have. I am so thankful to each and every one of you that stop by to read my blog, maybe comment, like, or even share my posts. So much has happened in these two years, mostly things I had never imagined, like my modeling career, a book, a little sister, making some good friends online. I’m a very fortunate dog, and I hope that reading my blog continues to bring laughs and smiles to my readers, along with an opportunity to learn something new about dog health, safety, my breed, or whatever else I may be blogging about. My readers are what makes my blog a success and I thank you from the bottom of my paw pads to the tip of my hound nose!
I have another exciting announcement to make. This Saturday and Sunday, November 9th and 10th, my eBook will be available for free download on Amazon.com. If you haven’t read my book yet, or you are wondering if it would be a good book to give to someone as a gift, download it and take a look. Christmas is coming and it would make a great gift for kids, teens, or dog lovers in any age group! If you read it and love it, please write a short review on Amazon for me. Reviews really help move up the status of a book. Go to TalesofAFrenchScentHound.com for more info.
Tuesday I was at the vet to get my stitches out. Boy do I dislike going there, it scares me so! Everyone is so nice and friendly, but I don’t like the way they mess with me. The photo is a before and after, that piece of my lip is no longer hanging down 🙂 I did have the problem on both sides of my mouth, but the left side was the worst, so Mom chose that side to photograph. I did really well with the removal of the stitches and am healing up nicely. I need to go back for a follow up check in a month. I have my paws crossed that the dermatitis issue is gone for good! Mom says that my lips look “normal” now and don’t sag, so that is progress right there!
Tuesday night into Wednesday we got our first few inches of snow for the season. We were excited! Bailie was a bit scared of it at first, but then she found out it was edible and her world was okay again. I will post more from the first snow on Monday.
That is a wrap for this week! Stop by and say “woof” to some of the other blogs on the hop!
WoooooHooooo Emma have Blogaversary and many many more years to come 🙂 We love you. Your lip looks great. Have a fun weekend xxoxxx
Mollie and Alfie
Thanks you guys…time sure cruises by!
Congrats on your blogiversary! And what looks like successful surgery 🙂 Looking forward to more snow photos.
So far so good on my lips but it is still too early to know for sure if it worked.
Love your blog Emma!!
Thank you! I love all my fans and have so much fun writing my blog!
Congratulations on your 2 year Blogiversary! WooHoo! So glad you are feeling better and your lips have healed! Have a great weekend!
Thank you…now I can start giving kisses again!
Happy Happy Blogversary 🙂 Golden Glad to be bloggie friends. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Thanks Sugar! You are one awesome dog and you have an awesome mom too 🙂 Happy Friday!
Wow….happy blogaversary!! And we will check out your book too. We enjoy your blog and your photos very much, Torrey and I are glad to be bloggy buddies with you and your pack.
Mom and I love your blog too and seeing all your adventures.
Great follow-up Emma, I can’t thank you enough for co-hosting this week. I have to be honest, I still don’t know what I want from my blog most days. 😀 But I do know just how much I enjoy the interaction with everyone! For me it is the best part of blogging. My serious blog did not have a tag line. I in fact, did not know what a tag line is. But the amazing community of Blogville will always help. You have helped me many times this past year with tips and tricks, so thank you.
Snow? Already? Yes, my husband told me we may get some next week as well. Dang! I was hoping to wait a bit longer!
Have an awesome weekend and thank you again, you’re a wonderful co-hostess!
Thanks for having my shaggy self as a cohost. It is scary to think what will be in two more years! Some of our snow is still hanging around, but it will be gone this weekend. We are ready, Mom is too. We all love winter!
Thanks for being the FUF co hostess, your did a great job for your first time. Congrats on 2 years of blog writing and I love the first picture. Will be stopping by amazon tomorrow to check out your book, congrats on that also. Your lips look great, good luck with the suture removal. Enjoy the snow, I am dreading it heading our way. yuck
We figured why not try something new and be a co hostess and the two year blogiversary was the perfect day to do it 🙂 Definitely check out the book, I haven’t received any complaints yet, everyone loves it so far. We still have some snow but it will be gone this weekend. We love winter, so feel free to send your snow our way!
I have your book, but I’ve only read the beginning. I hope to get a reading day in the not too distant future, and I will absolutely review it. (And LOL at Bailey finding out snow is edible!)
Have a wonderful weekend, Emma!
My book is easy reading…you can read it if you are eight or eighty, so it won’t take long once you get going and if you write a review that would be awesome! Bailie’s breeder gave the pups ice cubes sometimes, so she likes that frozen water thing 🙂 TGIF!
Happy Blogoversary!!! You are just the best Emma!
Thanks…that means a lot coming from a cat!
HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY 🙂 ! We love your book and have it both in paperback and Kindle. Your surgery is looking so great and how do you keep your teeth so nice and clean? Wowza they are nice! While I was at the doggy spa the mom checked out Target again, and they still had NOTHING featuring your modeling career! Jeepers what kind of store are they?? At least they did have the Iams Shakeables at a good price. I digress…I WANT something with my buddy Emma’s picture on it from Target! I hope that happens before I, well you know I will be 14 in January… Love your blogs, you, and all your family Emma.
Maggie the very tired PBGV
Thank you! We brush our teeth every night before bed, gnaw on antlers and sometimes other bones, but that is it for dental health. When exactly is your birthday? Do you love the shakeables?
I love the Shakeables! The mom bought me all flavors, but I have to share with the Boston terriers. My birthday is on January 30th (I was born on Super Sunday when the Super Bowl game was played in January!)
I have to always share with my two sisters, but at least I love my sisters most of the time. Maybe Mom will sneak an extra one or two to you 😉
Happy anniversary! Who could have guessed that two years later you would have your own book and a little sister with her own rabbit?? Glad to see you’re feeling better too, that lip looked painful.
Thanks, the lip was painful but it feels much better now and Mom is happy the odor is gone too!
Happy-Happy-Happy Blogiversary, Emma!!!! Woof-hoo!! I am so glad you started your blog so long ago because then I was able to meet you and learn about all the fun things you do! And…oh dawg…you got snow already?!? I bet it was loads of fun to play in!
*Cairn cuddles*
Oz
Thank you! Mom is really happy I got into all this stuff too because it is a lot of fun and we have met so many nice people and dogs in just two years. Today the snow is melting away, but hopefully we will get some more this month…we love snow!
Congratulations all the way around Emma! Happy 2nd Blogiversary! Congrats on the book and on the snow! We had a few flakes fly this morning but nothing that amounted to anything!
The Newfs would have laughed at the miniscule amount, but it was better than nothing. We love snow and are ready!
Congratulations on two years, Emma! That’s PAWSOME! I think you’re right, that your mama has advanced beautifully with her photography. You’re still as beautiful as ever, though. And I’m very jealous of your snow.
Thanks, Flea! We are so happy to have met you and discovered wabbit jerky. I guess we could just stop now that we have accomplished that, but I will keep pawing at the keyboard because I enjoy it. The snow will be gone later today, but I’m sure we will have more soon.
Congratulaions to your blogoversary, Emma. I will cross my paws too that all will be well when you have the next vet appointment.Have a super friday and stay warm&comfy.
Thank you! I really hope my lips just keep getting better and better!
Congratulations on your two year blogiversary! That’s a big landmark since most people don’t blog for more than a few months. 🙂
Glad Bailie enjoyed the snow, once she figured out what it is. I’m sure you have plenty more to look forward to this winter.
Mom knows lots of real estate bloggers and they are pitiful, once in a blue moon maybe a post, they start out strong and disappear. You are right that most bloggers don’t keep it up. It is a lot of work and sometimes does cut into my nap time, but it is worth it.
Happy bloggyversary Ems! Here’s to many more!
Thanks, Misaki!
Congratulations on your 2-year blogiversary! That’s quite an accomplishment. And you’ve certainly accomplished a lot in those two years. Our 1-year blogiversary is coming up in December – we’re pretty excited! So glad your lip has healed and is better – I agree the vet’s can be a miserable place…ours gives out treats at the end of the visit, so I suck it up and deal with the poking and prodding.
We get treats non stop when we are there but it doesn’t help me out much. Time sure goes fast when you are blogging!
Happy Blogiversary!!!!
Thank you!
happy blogoversary!
yay, no more stitches. i’m sure you’ll be as good as new in no time 🙂
wags, bailey unleashed
The lips are good, now we have to hope the dermatitis doesn’t reappear.
Happy Blogiversary, Emma! I think you have come a long way and accomplished a lot in your two years. Here’s hoping for many, many more.
So glad you got your stitches out and are healing well. Yay for first snow too!
Thanks friends! I have done a lot in just two years…especially for a dog!
Snow! Wow! Your lip looks much better! Glad to hear you are healing up. Happy Blogoversary! You just made me realize that my 3 year went by without even a peep outta me. Oh well! We bought your book before and will leave a review as soon as I have time to finish reading it!
Didn’t WP send you a message on your blogiversary date? I got one this morning. I still have to read your book, but I think the end of this month I will get to it 🙂
Congrats on your blogiversary! So glad to hear the stitches are out. Sounds lie you are doing well. Tell Bailie not to each too much snow. Sometimes all that cold makes a dog puke. We know…we have done that. teehee
the brown dawgs
For us that usually happens if we haven’t eaten yet. Bailie pukes when she drinks water first thing in the morning, but we think she has learned not to. Katie eats snow all the time, me, not so much. We’ll see how it goes when we really have snow, thanks for the tip, though 😉
Happy Happy Blogoversary to YOU!!!
Thank you!
Happy Blogiversary Emma! (And so glad you got your stitches out. Hope you have no more issues!
Snow? SNOW? I’m not ready. No. NOOOOOOOOO!
So far it is going good with my lips, let’s just hope it continues. Time will be the ultimate test.
Happy Blogaversary Emma! We are glad to see that your lips are feeling much better.
Millie & Walter
Thank you! I’m doing much better.
Congrats on your blogiversary Emma! That is an awesome achievement. I think your mom does excellent photography. I am still learning, and have heard not to use the flash, but my house isn’t always the most photography friendly without it. I try to take a lot of outdoor pictures when I can. Hope the cold weather doesn’t interfere!
We are working on indoors without a flash, that is the sticky thing for us. We have been trying a higher iso which does help. Some day we will have it figured out. You can also shoot raw files so you can adjust the lighting better later, but so far we haven’t done that.
Happy Blogoversary! I am so happy to know I wasn’t the only one who didn’t understand “Hello World” – now I know I was in good company.
LOL! We had that big newbie label right there on the blog! That’s okay as we laugh over it now. Everyone has to start and be new at some point.
Well, a Big Week for you! Happy Times! Glad that lip is healing up like it should. Here’s to another busy year ahead!
I better get my furry little behind in gear!
Snow already? Fun! Although I wouldn’t mind if the snow stayed away for a bit longer, Maya and Pierson would love it. I’m happy your recovering. I’ve never heard of such a lip condition before.
Happy Blogiversary!
It is usually with big slobber breeds like St. Bernards or Newfs. They can actually do the procedure to get the drool/slobber thing to stop. I didn’t drool or slobber, just had the irritation that turned into an infection. Hopefully I am done with it.
Hi Y’all!
That was great. My Human is going to download your book. Some of the great nieces would love it, I’m sure.
I hate the way the vets mess us! It’s fun to meet other pawed friends in the waiting room, but not fun anymore when they take you into “The Room”.
Have a great weekend!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
I don’t like seeing the other dogs in the waiting room because I am so nervous, I snap at them. The whole place gives this pup the creeps 🙂
Happy blogiversayy. I do hope your lips continue to improve so you don’t have to go back to the vets!
So far, so good. I have to go back in three weeks for another check up, hope they continue to heal and not be infected.
Congratulations on two years of blogging!
I hope your lip continues well, it certainly looks fine.
Mom says it looks good, it feels good to me, but we will see what the vet says in a few more weeks. Hope it is all fine.
