It is November and the cold weather is hitting Minnesota. Along with the cold temperatures comes that white stuff, otherwise known as snow. We all love snow. Snow is a blast to play in, you can even eat it if you want to. Last Wednesday we awoke to the first 2-3 inches of snow for this season. We were excited to get out in it, but Bailie had never seen snow before. She was a bit more cautious and did not really know what to do with it at first.
I have been telling her that it is going to get extremely cold outside and we will get a lot of snow, but she really doesn’t have any idea as to what I am barking about. When she first gets up Mom rushes with her outside to use the bathroom, but with the snow, it took forever. Bailie did not know where to go, or if she should go. She was busy sniffing, tasting, and digging. I did tell her to leave any yellow snow she might find alone. I hope she paid attention to that!
Here we were checking it all out. Katie is a Kuvasz, which is a guard dog, Bailie and I are the scent hounds. Can you tell our breeds by our actions in this photo? Katie is sitting watch while we sniff out the situation – LOL!
I put together a short video of Bailie checking out our backyard with snow for the first time.
We are looking forward to the first big snowstorm. It will be so much fun! Lucky for us Mom is a winter lover as well. Hopefully we can get snowed in at some point this winter!
I’m joining in the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies
This IS fun but I have to say “snow” and “fun” are oxymorons….BOL!!!!! We have a chance of getting our first snow today …UGH!
We love the cold and snow! Feel free to send it back our way.
I had to share your video on my facebook – just to let my friends know I still remember what snow is! Your three doggies are so adorable.
Thank you for sharing! We love snow and can’t wait to get a nice load of it soon!
Cute video! Love when the snow ends up on their noses. Nothing cuter than a puppy with snow on their nose!
There was a lot of that. She loves to eat it and sniff in it, so we may rename her snow nose.
So cute. Emma you knew exactly what Bailie was thinking in that video!
She loved it! We got a dusting last night and her nose was down sniffing our whole walk this morning.
Hi Y’all!
Please don’t take offence, but you 3 remind me of the wild geese! How? They always post a guard who stays alert and watches while the others put their heads to the ground. My Human says the others are eating.
Y’all come by now!
Hawk aka BrownDog
Wow, no one ever said we looked like wild geese before, no offense, we find it funny 🙂 Opinions are always fun! Our breeds have their jobs and we stick to them! Happy Monday!
Snow much fun LOL. Can’t believe you have snow already. It is really still nice and mild here.
Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
It all melted two days later but we got a light dusting again last night.
Love the photo of the three of them getting their dog on – so accurate. And Bailie – puppies and snow are just fun to watch – thanks for sharing since 1. I don’t have puppies and 2. we don’t get snow!
Glad my puppy in the snow is entertaining. We feel sad that you don’t have snow, though, because it is so much fun.
Oh, that video is precious. Love the dot of snow on her nose! =D
She always has snow on her nose since she is always sniffing in the snow.
Emma did you or your mom shoot the video? Great background music. The mom kept telling me it sounded kinda like “Fee Fi Fiddle Yi Oh.” Pawsome! I think I would like snow but my poor joints might not like the coldness. Wishing you more snow! Maggie the PBGV
Mom is the photo/video being for my blog, I have her do that stuff for me. The cold may be tough for you, but on the other hand, Katie has no problem with cold and her arthritis.
Ya for snow! That looks like the heavy wet stuff! We’re suppose to get some snow overnight. I’m hoping it sticks so the boys can have some fun!
Hope you get some for the Newfs! We need a good load of it but it will take some time I think.
Wow, you have snow already!? Bailie looks a little unsure in the second photo. I bet you guys will all have fun this winter.
It was only here for two days but we got another dusting overnight. We are fine with any snow we can get this time of year.
Bailie is going to have a LOT of fun this winter! Keep warm, you two!
I think we will all have more fun than usual in the snow!
What a cute video. Have fun Bailie! I’m not really a fan of snow, the only thing I like is, that I see it better when I make a mispelling while writing autographs :o)
What! Not a fan of snow? That is a bummer. Send your snow to me, we never have enough 🙂
If you want, no problem :o) Do you need rain too?
No, we aren’t rain fans, like the frozen stuff much better!
Oh how fun! Bailie in the snow is such a hoot! I’ve never see snow so I probably would not know what to do either. Enjoy your wintery months, Emma!

Oz
She really loves to eat it, but then again she eats anything she can get into her mouth!
Bailie is so adorable dashing about in the snow. I’ve forgotten the wonder of first snow. Happy Monday!
We all get excited with the first snow, but with puppies, it is special 🙂
Cute video! Rita’s never seen snow. Maybe some day we’ll take her on a trip – but her momma’s not a huge fan of the white stuff! (It’s crazy-hot here! I wish it would cool off at least and feel more like fall!)
We all love it including Mom. Nothing better than an early morning walk in the dark with fresh snow. It is so peaceful. We are all much happier in winter than in the summer.
That video is amazing! Watching puppies discover new things is one of my favorite things to watch. The first snow is especially hysterical.
Mom loves to watch her discover new things. She usually jumps on them first and goes from there!
We have snow too but we keep it up in the mountains where we can visit it when we want to. We never want to.
That is too bad, snow is so fun, but we are kind of an oddity being such winter lovers.
How fun. We don’t get much snow in the City where we live. Chester and Gretel like to play in the snow but not pee in it! When it does snow, we have to shovel a snow free path in the grass for them. We should be getting snow in the mountains soon though and plan to go play.
I’m kind of a tomboy type, so I poo and pee wherever, but Katie has issues with the first snow, she never knows where to go and now that she is older, she can’t climb the snowbanks like she used to. Once and a while she will go in the street which makes her look so sad, but she will figure it out, she does every year.
What super fun I love the snow but Daddy doesn’t cos he can’t work in it 🙂 Great photo’s and video Emma ..I am on my way over to play with you 🙂 xxoxx
Mollie and Alfie
Snow is no fun if you have to drive in it, but we love it when we are home. Come on over!
Have fun everyone! That did make my whiskers shiver though!
I think Bailie may be shivering a bit this winter since her coat is still rather thin.
Yup, looks like you got about the same amount of snow as we did, Emma! I love the video, and I also love the photo of you two scent hounds doing your job, and Katie doing hers!
That photo was a total accident but came out great! Sadly that snow melted so we have to wait for the next load.
Oh Emma. I’m so jealous of your snow! I’m only hoping our total snow accumulation this year is more than that! We never get a good, heavy snow anymore. 🙁
We have our paws crossed for a few good snowstorms this winter. We love lots and lots of snow!
How FUN! Its currently snowing here … and we’re suppose to have more tomorrow. So much FUN to play in the snow. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
You are so lucky! It is just darn cold and windy here.
Playing in the snow is always fun. I love to flick it up with my nose and try to catch it in my mouth.
Dina
Wow, that would take some talent!
Wow you had snow already. YUCK! My dogs love it but I don’t!. Love the snow on Baileys nose. cute.
It seems that most humans are not big fans of the cold weather and snow, but we are lucky that our Mom loves both. We do so much more stuff outside in the winter, summer is our least favorite time of year. We are a bit weird, but at least we know it 🙂
That video was so cute, she looked so confused and so sweet! 🙂
I’ve never seen snow and I’m 3 years old! Heck, we hardly ever get any rain, so I can’t imagine we’ll ever get any snow, I’ll have to live it through you guys!
Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Don’t they have snow is Northern Cal, or maybe you could go to Nevada or somewhere to find some. You would love it.
Love those photos and the video, too. They forecast snow for last night… Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie are so disappointed it didn’t happen.
I think Mom gets more disappointed than we do. Snow season has started, so we are hoping for some whopping big storms this winter.
Snow! I can’t wait! I want some!
Ours is gone now, but more will be coming, we are sure of it!
Bailie is really fun to watch in her first snow. We got a little today (Tues) Mica is still a puppy when it snows a little more than the dusting we got. She jumps straight up in the air she gets so excited:)
Wow, snow already!! Loved the video it looked like Bailie was having the most fun!
She was really investigating, trying to figure out what it was. Katie and I are more excited when we get a bit more of it.
I can’t wait to see more snow filled fun!
Hopefully we will have a lot of it!
I definitely love the pic of you two sniffing while the Kuvasz stands guard! So typical, right? I miss the snow. I recently moved from North Dakota to California.
Oh Mom would not like that. She loves winter too and used to miss the snow when she lived in Northern Germany where an inch was a blizzard, LOL!
Bailie looks very cute bouncing around.
You’re all safe to play because Katie will notice any danger in the area!
She is our great protector! Even as a senior, she is always there to guard us and we are thankful for that.
We can’t wait til we get snow! Awesome!
We are ready for a real snow storm now, that was just a teaser!
