As I mentioned in my post last Sunday, I had another modeling job with Target. I have always gone to a studio in Hopkins, but this time it was a studio in Minneapolis called Orbit.
The photographer that I work with asked if we could bring Bailie along so she could meet her, and we did. Bailie will probably go to the next photo audition. I wanted Bailie to see how it is when you have to work as a dog because she has said she may want to try modeling one day.
We were there a bit early as snow was coming and we didn’t want to run late. We just hung out waiting and watching some other dogs model various items. It seemed like everyone was modeling beds on this day. The good part about waiting is that all the people there wanted to meet us, pet us, and know more about us. I got to pass out some more of my business cards too.
Finally it was time for me. I was going to be modeling two different dog beds. Target is very secretive about what they do, so I could only take a photo on the set when the product was gone. The shape on the floor is where the bed was positioned. They don’t tell you when the product will be coming out either. Lucky for me, Mom loves Target so whenever she is there she checks for me. It might take as long as six months until these beds appear in stores, but I will let you know when we find them.
Bailie said the whole thing was a total bore. She was jealous of another dog that got to play fetch while waiting and she had to sit still. We had someone hang onto Bailie while Mom helped me with my shoot and she about wore that guy out. She was not happy being separated from us and she was just plain bored. I think if she was modeling she would like it much better.
That is it for my glamorous life this photo shoot. Time to go home and get myself dirtied up a bit!

I can’t wait to see the new Target ad. Just think you abd Bailie could model Twin Beds next time. How exciting!
Oh that would be so cute, but I think they only make that stuff for tiny dogs. We do have matching cuddle beds at home π
How awesome. Wouldn’t that be exciting if you both got to model?
I think she will get to do it too because she is really good with the camera already at six months. She loves it almost as much as I do.
That’s pretty exciting Emma! I may have to check out this modeling stuff, seeing as I am one handsome dude! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
You have to find a photographer in your area to work with that does ads. We found Barbara just by accident through google, so you never know. Then we found our other photographer that did our pictures and my book cover through Barbara’s fb page. Karin’s dog models with Barbara…like everything, it is a small world, you just have to get your paw in the right door at the right time and for us, luck was on our side, so it was meant to be.
Can I have your autograph Emma? So I can say I knew you before you were rich & famous…oh wait…you already are!
A little famous, but still waiting on the rich part. I mean I am rich in my lifestyle and family life but not that green paper stuff that humans value so highly.
That is so exciting Emma. We too must get your pawtograph. Have a super Saturday.
Best wishes Molly
I have pawtographed copies of my book, but that is all I have pawtographed so far π it is not easy pawtographing you know.
It’s pretty cool to see you at work, Emma, and I hope I will find you in Target one of these days! I’m sure Bailie will find it more fun when she gets to join in and doesn’t just have to wait. Since she looks up to her big sister so much I’m sure she will work hard to be just as good as you!
It’s pretty cool to see you at work, Emma, and I hope I’ll find you in Target one of these days too! I’m sure Bailie will enjoy herself much more when she’s modeling like her big sister, instead of just waiting!
well you have to give your autograph to me to :), Nice to meet you and welcome to my blog π
I can get you a pawtograph π
I’m having trouble commenting, so I hope you don’t get this three times! (not just your site but some others too)
It was pretty cool seeing you at work, Emma! I bet Bailie will enjoy herself more when she can be a model just like her big sister.
There was a big WP update the other day which I installed today. Maybe that is the problem. I will have to look into it since yesterday things were working fine. Thanks for telling me.
Wow Emma, that does sound like hard work!
It is a tough job, but some dog has to do it and that dog is me π
You’re such a pretty model Emma and I bet Bailie will make a beautiful model too!
Hopefully she will get into it since she likes the camera too.
Oh Emma! I am so happy and proud of you. You even make that rug on the set look good my friend! I do think it is super cool that you are modeling and I am sure Bailie will love it just as much as you do. I model for Mommy all the time…wonder if someone around here wants to hire a little mini Schnauzer? Heehee!
Lots of love, Pixel
You are like me, a natural in front of the camera and you love it too! Thanks for stopping by!
How exciting! Looking forward to seeing the final result π
Me too, but it takes months…hard to wait but we have no choice π
It does sound boring having to sit and stay while people take a ton of photos. But I can’t wait to see them. So exciting!!! π
It isn’t boring, though, if you are the dog that is on the set π
It seems like it would be hard modeling for a product that you weren’t actually. How can you look comfortable laying in a product that is not there? But I’m sure you did an excellent job. Can wait to see the real thing π
For this one the beds wee there, that is just a marker so they know how to position them. We are not allowed to show the product, so I could only take my photo for personal use on the marker. I have done kennel shots with just a marker and it works really well actually.
I think I would need plenty of treats to keep me focused or there would be lots of shots of the back of my head! Well done you
LOL! Not me, I love to look at the camera and I often work whether there are treats or not.
Good job Emma. You are a hard working doggie and it is a good thing Ballie has you to show her the ropes!
I like to have someone to boss around a bit π
Thanks for the behind the scenes look at your job! Pretty cool!
Actually it is hot with all the lamps π
Hmmm. I guess it would be. And you have that big thick fur coat too. My buddy Walker would love the heat lamps, but he doesn’t like getting his picture taken. Have a good Christmas!!
