Christmas is a time for lots of baking, so I have another yummy in the tummy recipe for all you pups out there! Mom’s family has had the tradition of having homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas morning since she was a little girl. We dogs felt a bit left out since we couldn’t eat those cinnamon rolls. We are sad no more since I am baking up Bacony Banana Breakfast Rolls.
As with all my recipes, this one is pretty simple…even a dog can do it 🙂
For starters, you have to fry up the bacon so it can cool and be crumbled. Be careful not to burn your paws or beard on the hot stove. If you are super short, you may want to have your human help you out.
Next you have to puree the banana. I have this simple contraption from Tupperware, but you can do it however you like.
Once you have it all mixed together, you have to roll out the dough. Try not to get too much flour on your paws as it gets slippery. Be careful too if you own a cat…my cat bro Bert was after my dough!
After you put the honey and bacon bits on the dough, you need to roll it up. Be very careful, you don’t want your claws puncturing the dough.
Have your human get a knife and cut 1 inch wide pieces off the nice dough your rolled up. This is too dangerous for dogs to do. Put the rolls in the pan and they are set to bake.
While they bake, put your paws up, and have your assistant keep an eye on the rolls in the oven. This keeps the rolls from burning and teaches your assistant some patience.
Once they are done and frosted, place them on a pretty plate and get ready to dig in. They are super yummy, so don’t be surprised if there is some drooling going on! Enjoy! Click here for a downloadable PDF of the recipe, complete with a photo of me baking!

Those foods looks delicious and yummy 🙂
Trust me, they are!
Left a long chatty comment, but wouldn’t “take.” Sigh. these really do look good, Emma!
Something weird is going on as that has happened to me on other blogs and a couple on my blog. Sorry, wish I knew what the deal is 🙁
They sure look tasty.
Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
They are…you should make some.
Wow they look yummi. I’ll think I try to bake them myself.
Good idea, they are fast and easy and super yummy!
They really look yummy. Bailie looks like she is ready to pounce.
She is not good at waiting when it comes to food, but she is learning.
I’s a pleasure to see you in the kitchen and the results are always super tasty! Please Mr. TV give Emma, Bailey and Katie their own cook show.
Wouldn’t that be pawsome! I think Hollywood is scared of me and how successful I would be!
within 6 months they would give you a star on walk of fame, I’m sure!
Emma you are sooo incredibly talented! My Mom hates to bake so do you think maybe I should take over that duty? Those look delicious and your photos are equally delicious! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
I’m training in my assistant, maybe she can do baking on the road and I can stay home with Mom.
Yummm. I think you need to come and cook for me and Torrey. Mom never does. )-:
They are super yummy!
OMD Emma, they look super yummy. I know my Mom would love cinnamon rolls too. We are all behind as trying to get stuff ready for Christmas xxooxxx
Mollie and Alfie
Our mom is super busy too right now.
Looks tasty! Did Bailie lose her position as assistant chef at the counter because she hasn’t learned not to eat all the ingredients yet??
She was busy when I wanted to bake and Bert was in her spot, but she is still my apprentice 😉
Yummy! I bet those would melt in our mouths. They look so good!
You have the best recipes, Emma. These look like they would be great for Christmas morning, but I’m also going to want to make the human version too, that’s a great tradition your Mom’s family has.
They look AMAZING!
And they taste amazing too…what my paws can do!
OM NOM NOM. Those look AMAZING, Emma! Your assistant looks hungry. 🙂
Cat bro Bert and Bailie are always hungry!
LOl Bailie looks like she just cannot wait another second. Sounds like a good recipe. You did a great job demonstrating it Emma.
She is so impatient with food!
They look yummy…poor little Bailie, patience is so hard for a pup. Love the last pic with her licking her chops! You are a fabulous chef Emma!
She did really dig in when she got the “go” word!
I bet the humans would like the bacon and banana rolls even more than the cinnamon ones in my house. Do the pups have to share?
We only share with us three dogs and we have to protect our stash from cat bro Bert! Humans could eat them but they aren’t real sweet.
It is nice that you can trust your assistant already. Some dogs might not wait until it’s cooked. Especially certain yellow Labs who happen to love bananas AND bacon. 🙂
Well, I wouldn’t leave her alone with the dough…but in the oven they are safe!
Can you believe I’m not big into cinnamon flavored stuff? So I don’t really eat cinnamon rolls. But bacon rolls, I think I could manage 🙂 Although I’m trying to mostly eat turkey bacon these days. Yummy recipe!
You could use turkey bacon, why not, it is just a couple slices crumbled and sprinkled on the dough.
OMD OMD mom is LOL over you in the kitchen baking! She thinks its not really you but someone in a dog costume! Or I’m just jealous because I can’t even see over the counter! Love Dolly
Don’t tell anyone, but I am really not that tall…I have a stool to stand on when I bake, otherwise I can get my head on the counter but that is about it 😉 Shhhhh…that is top secret!
Yummy treats! Happy holidays…
They are so good that they are almost gone. I will have to bake another batch!
