Yes, we did, we really did…we got us a doublewide! No, we haven’t moved, we have our super duper agility tunnel and it is helping us big time with curing our cabin fever! I call it a doublewide because often two of us are in it at the same time. Since we are always running through at high speed, mom made a slow motion gif so you could see me a bit better.
The tunnel was originally for Bailie because when she was really small, she loved to go in the cat tunnel. Now she has outgrown it but still tries to fit into it. She also tries to drag it downstairs all the time, so Mom decided to go online and order an inexpensive agility tunnel.
What we got is an 18 foot long 2 foot diameter tunnel that, luckily, is easy to fold up and store. Everyone fits into it, even Katie! Bert loves it, and Bailie loves to chase him if she catches him in there. The chase is way too fast to film, so no shots of that.
Why is this tunnel a fit for FitDog Friday? Because it gets us running and chasing through the tunnel. Mom is also using it to teach commands like sit/stay, down/stay and then come.
Another problem we are having is extreme cold weather. We go out for walks in all weather, but when it is below zero we can only be out for 10-20 minutes and we can’t play in the yard more than that either, so the tunnel is something fun to play with indoors. We are used to cold, but this winter has been extremely cold for several weeks already, normally we don’t see these stretches below zero until mid January. Because it is so huge, it is very practical that we can just fold up the tunnel when we are done.
Bailie and I wrestle in it, nap in it, we just love it. We can use it outdoors too. It came with stakes for anchoring it in the ground…that won’t happen here for many months but we can wait. We did take it out in the snow on a warm day and that was fun. I tried out my Sony Action Cam. The second shot from inside the tunnel in the video was taken using that. My hope it so use my action cam a lot more this year, but it shouldn’t really be used outdoors when it is below freezing, so right now that is quite limiting.
Hope you enjoy the video, we are speedy, so you have to watch quickly. We sure recommend such a tunnel to keep pets entertained and moving around! It is a blast and can be found with this link on Amazon! I have no connection with the company that makes the tunnel, we just like it and thought some readers may want to order one.
I’m joining Fitdog Friday, the blog hop sponsored byΒ SlimDoggy,Β Peggyβs Pet Place and To Dog With Love! Stop by and see what other dogs are doing to stay fit. Also, don’t forget to join in the Move Your Mutt Challenge Jan. 1-4! We are participating, you should too!
Those are some great shots of the pack in the tunnel. Funny to see big Katie in there also.
The key question is: does Mom go in there?
Oh yeah! Mom has been in it too. Everyone goes in at one point or another. It is lots of fun!
That sure looked fun and we loved the music. Enjoy. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
Thanks, the music was perfect for our racing endeavors in the tunnel!
Great video, Emma, you were having so much fun! It was fun to see that everyone went in too, We are definitely getting one of these, thanks for sharing the link. The price is better than I thought it would be!
Mom thought we would need to spend $50 or more but it wasn’t that much and we got free two day shipping with Prime…great investment!
Emma, that is so cool! What a fun idea! =D
Mom has to get creative when our high temps are below zero because if she doesn’t Bailie and I will play chase and wrestle in the house until something breaks!
That looks like so much fun! I love that the entire family fits in. Good place to keep each other warm!
It is sort of like a tent when we aren’t running through it, and the blue reminds us of water.
Ha! That looks like SO much fun…I’m going to see about getting one for Daisy! We don’t have to deal with cabin fever from the cold weather down here but we sometimes get so many rainy days that it’s great to have an indoor option for activity!
It is awesome that it just folds up so we have it out for a bit and then it goes away. Being so big we can’t just leave it up all the time.
How fun! I’ve always wanted a tunnel for Sherman and Leroy but I don’t think they would be as excited about it as me! Love that Bailie still tries to go through the small one and I could just picture her trying to take it down the stairs!
We are expecting some really frigid weather in the next few days that will keep us inside too!
Thanks for the idea! I may just try to capture her with her moving service this weekend! It is pretty funny!
BOL!!! Emma, you and Bailie are having such FUN in that tunnel!! I had to laugh when Bailie wrestled you down…she is a stinker. I am so jealous you have a gigantic tunnel. I wish Ma would get me one. I hope you have hours and hours of fun in your tunnel. I cannot wait until you can take it outside and get crazy video!
*Cairn cuddles* and happy weekend,
Oz
Bailie is a stinker but we have a blast and I love her. You should get a tunnel, you would love it!
Our teacher brought out a tunnel in puppy class. Honey was the only puppy who hated it. But she’s gotten braver over time. Everyone in your house makes it look so fun, maybe I’ll give it another try with her.
Bailie was a bit intimidated since it is so long, so Mom tossed a treat in the middle a few times and the fear disappeared. We have a blast in it!
This post really made me smile. You guys look like you’re have an absolute blast in that tunnel. I actually had to take a hammer to smash the ice around my door so I could open it this morning, so I know how you feel. My apartment has become a homemade agility course to keep Eko from getting bored.
Mom has had to do that to get the garage door open after an ice storm. Now it is above zero but such nasty wind I think below zero was warmer! Try to stay warm and don’t get too bored!
How fun!! love to see video of you!! How cool!!. at my house we would not play that nice. My Brother Ozzy is crazy about toys…
We just run in and out and sometimes I block the tunnel and don’t let Bailie in but we play nice together.
So Coooowoooowooooool! Maybe Mama can find a very cheap one of those fur us!
She should check around, it is simple, cheap, fun! Even Mom goes in the tunnel.
Oh, that looks like so much fun. I love the picture of Bailie with head and tail poking out of the cat’s tunnel!
She is nuts about that tunnel for some reason. Even though she has fun in the big one, she still keeps going back to the cat tunnel to drag it around.
Hahaha the cross was a great shoot π
Thanks π
OMD, you girls are so cute! My sis has one of those for her pup and he LOVES it. Unfortunately, Rita is afraid of it. No amount of treats would get her through that thing, so no tunnel o’ fun at our house. π Looks like a fun way to keep fit! (Nice jab at the end there, Emma! Keep that puppy in line!)
Sometimes a little sister needs a good whop! We do love it, bummer Rita is scared of it.
Rooooo its a totally pawsome pack tunnel! *Waggy tail*
Thanks!
I have a little tunnel myself, and I love it. So I can see why you guys like it so much π
It is fun, but if you have fur siblings to play with in it, it is even better!
Boy! Y’all hit the jackpot with this one!! Enjoy! Enjoy!!!
Mom had a winner of an idea!
OMC! This tunnel is the bestest! I gotta get my human to buy me one!!
In the meantime, Emma, I have nominated you for the βBest Moment Award!β
http://texascatny.com/blog/2014/01/03/awards-wrap-up-day/
You can get a kitty one, they have fun stuff for kitties like holes to pop out of and stuff. I will go over and check out the award. Thank you!
That tunnel looks great! I wonder if Vlad would fit through it? I hear your pain about the cold weather and your cam. I got a new camera for my Birthday, but it’s too cold to take it outdoors. Dying for Spring to get here this year!
We enjoy cold and snow, but it has been so extreme with any days not even reaching zero. Spring can hold off but just above zero temps would be perfect π Katie fits in, she is an 80lb Kuvasz. She can’t stand up straight, but she fits in.
This is just so cool guys! I’ve never really thought about a tunnel for dogs before… I’m not sure Shiner would like something like this. I’m sure my human baby would though lol.
My mom goes in it with us and on the weekend the two eleven year old nieces played with us in it. It is so much fun!
That is an amazing super tu
Oops, paw slip…super tunnel!!
Paws and keyboards aren’t always easy to maneuver! It is a super tunnel!
I’ve wanted to get a bit of agility equipment for inside play on rainy days. My friend gave us her cat tunnel but it’s too small even for 10-lb Gretel.
Cat tunnels are fun because they usually have more than the two end openings. We love this thing and since we can just pack it up in a minute, it doesn’t matter that it takes over the room when it is out. Lots of fun!
We had a good giggle over your wrestling match at the end! I guess you got the last word in, Emma! I think we’re a little too tall for that tunnel, but it does look like fun. Right now everybody is warning us not to go outside any more than necessary. It’s so cold we can barely put our feet down long enough to go potty. They’re saying it hasn’t been this cold around here in a long time. Having a tunnel to play in this weekend sure would be cool!
Bunny
You would be too tall. Katie has to bend over a bit even, I guess sometimes being short is a good thing! Starting tomorrow night we are going to have the coldest weather in 18 years…highs of -14 or so, quite chilly. A walk around the block is all we can handle. We love winter but extreme cold isn’t fun. Back to our tunnel I guess.
How cool and oh so much fun to have!!!! Emma, you are ALL absolutely adorable!!!! Hugs
Thanks! I’m blushing I think. Our tunnel is so much fun, a great present from Mom.
That looks like a ton of fun. We are going to make sure our mom clicks on the link so hopefully she will order one for us.
Millie & Walter
You would love one and it is so easy to fold up when you are done playing, can be inside or outside too. Inexpensive safe and healthy fun!
Love the photo of you guys sleeping in it, so sweet! It looks like a lot of fun. I’ve been wanting to get one for Petal, I’ll keep this one in mind! Great video, by the way. π
Thank you. With these days on end with highs below zero we really are getting a lot of use out of it.
Cute! What a great idea. I think I’ll unfold Pierson’s tunnel for him to play indoors. π
That is the beauty of it…they are not pretty but you can just set them up and then fold them up when you are done.
That is really cool and looks like a lot of fun. Excellent idea. Cute video. π
Thanks! We are really enjoying it.
OMD (oh my doodle) Emma, ever since we saw this post, we’ve been asking our Doodle Mom if we could have one. She finally said “YES”, can you ask your mom to send the link where she ordered it from? With all this cold weather, we could have some extra fun in the basement. Thanks Emma, you’re the best!!!!
You would have a blast! The link to where I got it on Amazon is at the end of the post. Have your mom click there π Don’t forget to post your fun if you get one…I want to see it!
That tunnel looks absolutely awesome! My four would love it! Have a great weekend!
It is a ton of fun. I’m sure we will wear it out one of these days!
Looks like you’ve got that cold weather sorted with lots of inside FitDogging activities. We’re thinking of doing the same only with the airconditioner on!!
Maybe we could meet in the middle and not need heat or a/c? Crazy world!
great video but my favorite part was the “bonk” at the end! priceless. BOL
wags, bailey unleashed
LOL! I was waiting for someone to notice that! You have to put a little sis in her place now and then!
We love your tunnel and it looks like you and Bailie have a blast playing in it. Tyler use to love the one at agility, they had theirs in a U shape so I had to go in first to show him it was safe. Then he loved running thru, and Lexie loved the one at agility when she was smaller. We are going to the below 0’s too!! Have fun π
This tunnel is so long we can bend it into a zig zag or a u, but we tend to like a nice straight run through. Stay warm…our temps are even getting to cold for Newfs and that is saying a lot!
Looks like great fun!!
It is a blast, we really have a good time.
We love your tunnel, Emma! And you have totally reminded us that we have two tunnels hidden away in the basement. They’re coming out tomorrow!
(Sorry it took us so long to get around the FitDog Friday hop! Stay warm, all of you!)
That’s great that it reminded you of your tunnels…have fun, they are a blast especially when we aren’t able to go out much because of the extreme cold!
