When I dig, my mom always asks if I’m digging my way to China. Seriously, China is not a good place for dogs and they make dangerous dog treats, so why would I dig my way over there? To humor her anyway, I decided to tell her I’m back from China when I popped out of my snow tunnel.
I amΒ joining the Black and White Sunday Blog Hop sponsored by Sugar the Golden Retriever and Dachshund Nola. Sometimes photos are simply more fun in black and white!
That is awesome π

Did you have Chinese food while you were there? How was the Great Wall?
Unfortunately, I did not tunnel to the Great Wall, but Mom has seen it from the air and been to it, says it is amazing especially when you consider how long ago they managed to build it. Maybe my next tunnel will end there.
How fun that you have a snow tunnel. Stay warm!!
I think I need more than a tunnel or igloo the next few days…I will stay in the house most of the time and hope my tunnel survives.
What a lot of snow, and that snowtunnel looks fun to play in. But China … you are clever to stay away, they eat dogs. Oohh.
My mom has been to China and knows about the dogs thing…scary!
This is new to me. Maggie the PBGV was my writer in your blogs. You look beautiful, Emma. First cry of the day…I miss her so very much. XOXO
Mom and I are so sad for you and we miss her too even though we only knew her through the internet. She is now pain free and running with Mom’s first dog Trine who is a real sweetheart that would look after Maggie really well. Thank you for visiting.
When I was in China I never ate a thing. I called the food spare parts since I could never tell what part of the animal they were cooking with or what animal it was. In New York, I love Chinese food- one of my favorites.
By the way why did you pick Minn. to live. It is so cold there.
My mom is from Minnesota and loves the area, people, and yes, the winter…maybe she had brain freeze as a young child? Mom was in China a lot too and only ate at her hotel in the American restaurant. Many crew members got ill eating other places. It was a great place to see but she saw enough.
LOL! That’s awesome. Do you really dig holes in the snow banks too? My dogs aren’t diggers. They prefer to look for treats in the snow or play ball. Stay warm today Miss Emma. We’re hunkering down inside today.
We just had our 15 min walk and are now cozy inside. I do dig in snowbanks, but Mom likes to help me make snow caves if we have a big enough pile. They are fun to hang out in. I’m not a big digger but I do like to help out when Mom gets started.
I love to dig in the snow too, but I’ve never made a tunnel.
Millie
You should give it a try. I love to go in tunnels on the end of driveways that kids have made, they are fun. Mom helps me at home with building a cave or tunnel when we have a good pile from shoveling the deck.
bahahaaaaaa that was funny! great picture.
Thanks π
Great picture! We got a little bit of snow last night but nothing like that!
These kind of piles come from shoveling, they are lots of fun to play in and on!
BOL!!! My Mum asked me the same thing when I dig a big hole!!! Maybe I’ll see you there sometime…
My mom said I should come and support you, because they have cheap i-pads in china. Is it possible to send my mom on maidens voyage when the tunnel is finished?
I’m sure they do have cheap ipads in China…my Mom found that stuff all the time being sold out of a funny car or truck but it might be spelled differently like ipat, they always mess that spelling thing up! She is welcome to give it a try if she would like.
I think she would like an ipat and an ivone – in worst case she could write a funny post about her experiences :o)
That would be the case for sure!
That’s a lot of snow you have!! Brrrr….
The snow is nice but the -10 high today and -16 high tomorrow are getting under my fur!
LOL you dig to China. I dig to Australia. Think I got the better option. Have a serene Sunday and get on some big easy today.
Best wishes Molly
Hey, want to swap tunnels? I would much prefer Australia…wonder if it is too late to change the direction I am digging?
What a big heap of snow! My wee sis Ellie hasn’t seen snow yet so we’re all hoping we get some soon. Every puppy should see snow in their first year and dig tunnels!
Bailie has seen lots of it. I wish we were having snow storms instead of cold snaps as that would be much more fun!
You look very pretty there, but it makes my whiskers shiver!
Cat bro Bert is always trying to run away from home…every time a door to the great outdoors opens he tries to run out…now with the temps well below zero, Mom opened the door, left it open, Bert ran over thinking it was his lucky day and then we heard a screeching noise. It was his cat brakes trying to stop his body before it went out into the freezer. We all got a good laugh out of it, but then he did the same with the front door. I guess cats don’t know that the weather is the same on all sides of the house – LOL!
You’re a pawesome digger Emma! Woooooowooooo!
Digging in snow is good clean fun, even my mom doesn’t mind.
That is so funny! Are you wet when you get out of your tunnel with all of that snow? It looks like fun but very, very cold!!
Not wet at all, it is nice dry snow. Way too cold to be wet around these parts of the country!
I betcha digging that was really lots of fun…but probably cold, too!
Great snow tunnel! For all of Dina’s annoyi…I mean delightful quirks I am glad digging isn’t one of them. Did you see the Great Wall??
I only dig in the snow sometimes, not a big digger otherwise. I missed the Great Wall, something went wrong with my calculations but Mom has seen it and told me all about it. By the time I got there I think it would have been too long of a walk anyway. π
My kids used to love digging snow tunnels when they lived at home. My terrier Rosie used to help. Finally, permission to dig!

Really, Mom is the one that wants to play in the snow and dig, I just help her out!
What a great pic!! Happy b&w Sunday!
((Husky hugz))
And #35 in the hop!
Thanks, woof!
Wow, awesome tunnel, Emma! Sheba loves to dig in the dirt, but for some reason she doesn’t dig in the snow (which would be preferable)!
We don’t dig much but sometimes Mom and I like to dig together in snow. Not sure who works harder but it is fun.
Oh how fun!
Aarroooooo!!!
You need to hide some bones in that tunnel, and then when everything finally thaws in spring it will be like you hit the bone lottery!
LOL! With three dogs it is hard to hide anything from anyone π
LOL! I say that too. π Great picture! Glad you returned home from China safely! π
Thank you, it was quite the journey!
HA!!! Genius and that is one PAWSOME snow tunnel my furiend! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Thanks pal, maybe you will have enough snow to dig one yourself…I hear MI got lots of the white stuff.
Making a snow tunnel sounds like a great way to have fun in the snow! We don’t have enough snow to dig a tunnel, though.
You have to find a nice pile from shoveling or plowing, that is the best place.
Oh my dog! Did you really did that????!!!! You are a snow tunnelgenious!
BTW, you commented on our blog that you are glad that you don’t wear clothes, but you DO! When you bake! You wear a chef’s hat and an apron!!!!!
Paw taps and snuffles,
Livvie and Kessie from MatildasJourney.com
I wear a few things for my photos, but I would never be seen around town in clothes…nothing wrong with dogs that need to wear stuff to stay warm, but I have my fur.
Oh My, I know what you mean. We got lots of SNOW too but I am not allowed to play. We are going to experience MN weather. Be Safe and Stay Warm. Happy Black n White Sunday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Yeah, -26 right now. We will not be out for long today, that is for sure. Mom already had Bailie so bundled to go out she could hardly move! Hopefully you will feel better soon and be able to get back to some fun activities. I have my paws crossed for you.
We would love a tunnel Emma, but it rained all day so no snow. This is preparing us for Arctic cold temps?!
Come on over, we have -26 this morning…let’s just say it will be a super quick walk this morning around here!
What super fun Emma, I love your blue tunnel. Wez back from our hoildays so lot’z of catching up to do’z xxxooxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
The blue tunnel is a blast, but this snow tunnel is something fun to do outdoors.
LOL cool tunnel!
I like it π
cool snow tunnel, but BRRR!!!
wags, bailey unleashed
Actually, if you are in the tunnel it is nice and warm compared to outside, but we are bigger dogs with lots more fur than you have.
It looks like you have loads of snow! Your tunnel is brilliant!
I like it, kind of like a cave atmosphere.
Wow, Emma – you’ve got some serious snow there! Send some of it to me!
Garth
We need a fresh load, it is all crusty and smashed after our polar blast.
