Valentines Day is only a couple days away! Are you looking for something tasty to bake for your favorite dog? How about some Strawberry Banana Luvcakes? Today I’m going to show you how I made these scrumptious, to drool for treats!
I decided that until my baking assistant matures a bit, she can only help me with getting supplies and checking on the oven. She is such a food obsessed girl, she always tries to eat my dough or batter and I can’t have that when I am baking. I had Bailie get the ingredients we needed out of the refrigerator first.
Then I had her find the silicone heart pan and dog paw pan. As you can see, she is in that teenage stage and is getting a bit of “attitude”. I wanted to make both shapes of Luvcakes. You can use any size molds you like or make them with liners but I wanted small cakes for my Luvcakes.
These are really easy as you just toss all the ingredients into the bowl and mix them up. I always like to have a
taste test of the batter to make sure it doesn’t need anything else.
Once the batter is thoroughly mixed, just pour or scoop into your molds so they are about 2/3 full. Boy, these are going to be so yummy in my tummy!
Put your pans in the oven and begin the tough task of waiting. I suggest having your assistant keep a watch on the baking process so you can get started on making your frosting and decorations.
When a toothpick in the middle comes our clean, take the Luvcakes out of the oven and then out of the pans to cool on a cooling rack. Try not to eat them at this point as they are hot and will burn your whiskers! Remember not to drool all over them either or they will get too moist.
When they are cool, frost them and decorate with strawberries. I used strawberry hearts on some and diced strawberries on others.
Now for the best part…eating! Sorry this photo isn’t the best but my lame photographer forgot to adjust her camera settings and she did not download the photos right away, so when she realized her mistake it was too late. I managed to fix the photo up a bit, but the colors are still not as they should be, but you can still see we are ready to dig in. We all chowed those down in about two seconds flat! They are to drool over and howl about!
Those look super yummy. All of you did a great job, including the photographer. 🙂
Thanks, but she has to watch herself and her settings or I will have to replace her!
LOVE your outfits! Emma, you remind the mom of Julia Childs. Those look yummy! We will not get any. 🙁 The mom is going away for the weekend, and then on Monday she is flying off to someplace called Duluth. I am not sure what a Duluth or a Sparkle is yet. XOXO Panda the Boston

I am going to make sure Mom makes these this week! They sound fabulous and we have a paw print pan that is begging to be used!
You girls all look adorable in your holiday finery! I like how you made Bailie an assistant to keep her out of your way.
Bunny
As you know with Flattery, those little sisters can be more of a hindrance than a help sometimes! Keeping her busy is the secret. Hope you enjoy the Luvcakes as much as we do!
Oh those look yummy! I bet there are a few dog hairs in them! Love Dolly
I think I forgot to put dog hair on the recipe…it adds texture!
Love look fantastic and I love all the pictures!
Thank you…they are fantastic!
They look yummy Emma, don’t talk bad about your photographer though, (unless you have another one waiting in the wings!) – Harley doesn’t like bananas. he’s weird….
Poor Harley, but I understand, I don’t like sweet potatoes, but bananas are like water…something you are normally born to love!
Oh, you always have the best Tasty Tuesday! I have to remind myself to read because I get lost just looking at those adorable furbabies of yours! Thanks for sharing your Valentine’s Dog Treat Recipe – this may be on our list of things to try.

Oh boy! I’m guessing wabbit??? Mom says she has a wabbit surprise for me for Valentines Day! I will stop by later. Yes, Bailie is really just interested in the eating part 😉
you both look ADORABLE!!!
Thank you 🙂
You guys need to open up your bakery, these look great (and so do you guys!)
That would involve working all the time and we don’t really like to work too much 😉
Tasty Tuesday always makes my tummy smile!
I don’t know if kitties would like these, but they do like the frosting 🙂
PAWsome Emma. 2 of my favorite ingredients, banana n strawberries. You are very lucky as your oven is low and you can see it. Glad to see Katie. Happy Tasty Tuesday. Golden Woofs
Our kitchen is pretty dog friendly 😉
I don’t know what I love best, the snackies or the cute outfits, although I am glad they are on you guys and not on me!!!
Well, we don’t wear clothes normally, but we don’t mind dressing up for photos and if you want to be good bakers, you need to have the right attire on 😉
These look so yummy and super cute too! Thanks for sharing Emma! We’ll have to make them some time. 🙂
Great photos! Bailie is definitely giving you some teenager attitude in that fourth picture, LOL! That is hilarious!
Yes, she is really getting the attitude going – quite challenging at times.
Those look yummy Emma!! I loved the look Bailie gave, that is definitely a teenage attitude!
She is really into the teenager trouble time right now. It keeps us and Mom on our paw pads!
Oh my gosh, Emma, these pictures are beyond adorable, especially Bailie and her teenage-‘tude look! And these treats–YUMMM-MEEEE! I need to get my cook working on these now!
You cook should get going as they are so tasty and pretty healthy.
Oh goodness!!!! All of it is just toooooo CUTE!!!! Love it!!!! You are so blessed to surround yourself with all that puppy love each and every day Emma!!!!
Thanks. Some of that puppy love can be irritating too…she is a total teenage dog these days.
You’ve inspired me to bake for my doggies. Great pictures.
That is great! I always bake stuff that is tasty and easy for dogs to bake since I am a dog!
Oh my goodness! These photos are too much!! Love them all! Those treats look amazing. Happy early Valentine’s Day to you! Much love, The Scottie Mom.
Thanks. We really enjoy baking at my house. You should make some at yours.
Oh my gosh, I’m ODing on cuteness right now! XD I love the pic of your sis Bailie giving that “whatever!” look, simply priceless!
Bailie is in that defiant teenager stage, but I just tackle her now and the to set her straight 🙂
So delicious and Emma is so precious! It looks like she has Bailie on a tight leash!
Lately she has some attitude, so I do have to keep my paws on her all the time, but she is mostly a good puppy 😉
These do look mighty fine Emma! I LOVE bananas and strawberries! I can’t wait for my Mom Person to try some of these. Thanks!
Hope she does bake them for you because you will love them!
Emma, you’re so good at baking, I wish you could come help around my house. =)
I would if I lived nearby!
OMD these look so good! I bet they didn’t last very long 🙂
No, they were suddenly gone! Very tasty stuff!
Those look yummy!
They are super tasty and pretty healthy too.
You should have your own cooking show!
