Ladies and Gentlemen, I have big family news! My baby sister, nine months old, joined the job market last week. Yes, she actually landed a job! At first, I will admit, I was a bit angry that she was getting a job, not me but that did not last long. I take those cushy jobs where I just have to look pretty for the camera for a few moments and that is it. Bailie had to work like a dog! It was a two part location shoot for a video, not a glamorous photo session like my jobs. I thought I would have a little interview with her today so she could tell my readers about her day on the job since I wasn’t there to see it for myself.
Emma: So, Bailie, how in the world did a puppy like you get a job? I mean nine months old, were you even disciplined enough?
Bailie: Mom got an email from the Animal Talent Pool where we are both signed up. They were looking for a dog that would wear and walk in boots. I was the right dog for that job as I wore shoes a lot this winter and it did not bother me a bit. You always put up a fight about wearing shoes, so Mom did not ask you if you wanted to apply. We sent in that cute photo of me in my coat with shoes on from one of those really cold January days.
Emma: When did you find out that you got the job? Were you nervous about it?
Bailie: I found out the beginning of the week that they chose me and I would be shooting on Thursday. I wasn’t nervous at all because Mom would be with me and how hard could it be wearing shoes and walking for a camera. We do stuff in front of a camera all the time at home.
Emma: You told me it would have been a terrible job for me, why do you say that?
Bailie: The first shoot was done at a vet clinic which is so not you. Every time you go to a vet office you tremble in fear, that would not look good on camera, and you despise boots. I don’t mind any of that, so for me it was a cinch.
Emma: What did you do for your first shoot?
Bailie: First Mom and I went to a vet clinic in Eden Prairie. At this place I had to wait a while for my turn since we were a bit early. They had a spot for us to wait in the back office area. We met lots of really friendly folks that wanted to pet me and find out all about me. I passed out some of your business cards like you asked me to as well. For my first shoot, they had a vet give me a little exam and then show Mom some stretching exercises for my legs and paws. It was super easy, the hard part was I needed to stay standing and the table was a bit slippery. I like to sit, but I did well standing.
Emma: An exam? What were you filming?
Bailie: I am one of several dogs they chose to make a web video for Novartis Deramaxx. The video will be on their website for clients to watch and learn from. I met Juan, the man that chose the dogs for the video…I think he has a crush on me! He said he wanted me for the video from the first moment he saw me in my absolutely adorable photo, and he whispered to me in Spanish. Everyone was so nice to me, but he was really nice!
Emma: So was that all you had to do? No more photos?
Bailie: Since Mom was in the video with me she couldn’t take photos so I don’t have any of my acting shots. You will have to wait for the video to come out. After the exam scene, we left the clinic and had to drive to a real nice house for the second filming. That is where I really had to work like a dog!
Emma: Oh please, what was so hard for you?
Bailie: I had to put on a coat and boots and walk. We were inside most of the time, and it was really warm. Then we had to walk like we were going for a walk but we never made it outside…how dumb is that? Humans? Mom had to take my coat and boots off like twenty times too and I had to stand there looking cute being patient. That is hard for a pup but I nailed it.
Bailie: I would like to see you do that for almost an hour and a half with a smile! No, that wasn’t it either. Once the coat and boots stuff was done I had to walk up and down the stairway in the house about ten times. Talk about silly!
Emma: I guess you did really have to work like a dog. Would you do it again?
Bailie: It was fun and all the attention was great, so I would love to do it again, but doing your modeling jobs would be pawsome too!
Emma: You told me this was a good Monday Mischief post, where is the mischief?
Bailie: Just like you, I love the camera. I like to be front and center as you know. They had one guy doing video with the camera down real low and one doing still shots. When we were doing the coat and boots scene at the house, I kept walking into the camera, I mean into the camera! Everyone was laughing. Mom tried to pull me away before I got too close, but I wanted to be sure they had a nice shot of my adorable mug! I also spotted a white squirrel on the front fence when the door was open. I was supposed to walk slow to the door, but Mom had to hold tight as I wanted to get that squirrel! Remember too, we had nose work class that night and I kept falling asleep in my kennel waiting for my turn rather than howling and carrying on as usual. That had everyone there laughing too.
Emma: Thanks for telling us about your day! Now, let’s go to the store and spend some of your money on yummy snacks!
I’m joining in the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies.
Congrats Bailie! Sounds like you’re on your way to becoming a star!
She would like to be, we will see if she gets more jobs or not. She is still just a puppy, so plenty of time.
Congratulations on getting a job Bailie. Sounds like you did a great job and had a lot of fun! By the way, you looked very cute in your coat and boots:-)
Thank you. She is adorable all dressed up. Everyone loved her look!
A star is born! So excited for you. Can’t wait to you get a modeling job together How cool would that be. What boots were you modeling Paws? When is the video going to be available ?
Don’t know if we will ever work together, but one never knows. Those boots were not PAWZ, they were serious heavy duty boots. Mom has seen them at the store up the street but can’t remember the name. We don’t know when the video will be done, but I will for sure put a link out when it is online. It may be a few months, they don’t give us any time frame.
Juan?? I am so jealous! Bailie it looks like all that training and patience from your mom has paid off, literally. I am so proud of you, it sounded really tough even though everyone thinks its glamorous to be in films. Love Dolly
It was really a lot of patience and good listening involved but I did really well and did not even have to take a break!
At first glance, I thought the picture with the boots on was you Emma! Bailie seems to have listened to you and your mom and is making a way for herself. Hooray! Congrats on being such a good big sister. Your doodle friend, Dash
I will let the youngster do those hard working jobs, I like the more glamorous stuff for my self. I am proud of her.
Baiie, you are a celebrity!!! Pawsome! You looked stunning in front of the camera. You AND Emma are naturals. Emma, great job on your blog. XOXO Sparkle the TEETHING PBGV
Mom said Bailie was amazing and especially considering she is only nine months old. She had fun too and that is important.
Congratulations Bailie. Can’t wait to see the video. Emma, now you can sit back and reap the rewards of teaching Bailie everything you know!
That is right, finally she can buy the treats and take the burden off my shoulders.
Wow Bailie! And we can say we knew you when. LOL. We better get your pawtograph.
Too bad you won’t make it to BlogPaws, you could meet us both.
That is great Bailie and we think you did a swell job. Pawsome you are now a star. Autograph please. Wonder what will be next? Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
One just never knows what might be next and that is half the fun of it.
Way to go Bailie, your first real job! I’m sure you were fabulous!
Mom said she was awesome!
Congrats – next stop Hollywood!
We still need that Hollywood connection…maybe some day 😉
Great job on the interview Emma and great job on the job Bailie! I bet it helps Mom out to have you girls out there earning some biscuit money. 🙂
I have a sneaking suspicion that the BlogPaws funds are coming out of my bank account this year 🙂
Good idea MOM!! If Emma wants to go, have her help pay her way. 🙂
way to go Bailie! I hope you’ll let us know when the web video is live!
We will let you know, but this kind of stuff takes time, often months.
Look at you Bailie – Congratulations!!! Send us your paw print when you get a chance, we’ll hang it up in Doodleville so we can tell our FURRends we know you!
If you are going to BlogPaws, you can meet Bailie and I in the fur 🙂
That is so wonderful Bailie, congrats sweetie! We are all proud of you!!!
We are pretty proud of her still being a puppy and all.
Yay!! Congrats!!!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thank you!
Wooohooowoooooo! Congrats! You are famous now toowoowoooooooo!
My sister and I want to take over the advertising world 😉
How exciting! But what I want to know is: did Bailie understand that Spanish? 😉
I don’t think so, but she said it sounded good 😉
Ooo how exciting! I love that outfit Bailie. Novartis is a pretty big company. Guess you’ve hit the big-time now! Grats!
They are a big company, so she is a very tiny speck on the wall there, but a speck nonetheless!
That is so cool!! Well done, YOU!!!!! Neat that Minnesota has things like that!
I’m sure they have those kinds of things in the Detroit area if you search around.
WOOT! We’re FURRY impressed. We can just see you mugging for the camera!
Our mommy works on the other side of that lens, as a director. Talk about weird humans (and nepotism!) – the things she asks us to do sometimes? Like pop a cute kitten head out of a backpack? Um, mom, seriouslies. NO KITTEH would be in one of these things!
We can’t wait to see your debut! BE sure to post the linky when they give it to you so’s we can all cheer you on! We’ll bring the popcorn!
We can’t wait to see it either, but it can take months sometimes to put these things together. That much we have learned.
Congratulations to the new Movie Star in your house! Paw Snaps and Twirls from The Red Man!
Thank you, we are proud of that little pup!
That is so exciting for Bailie! It sounds like she did a great job, which seems pretty impressive for a 9 month old puppy. You let her do the hard work, Emma, and you can do the easier modeling jobs….that’s only fair since you’re older.
Can’t wait to see the video!
Everyone was amazed at how mellow and patient she was. I think she is just so used to being in front of a camera, it was normal for her.
I think she has had a very good role model in you also!
I know she learns a lot of me and from Katie. We are part of the reason she is a calm puppy as we are pretty calm unless a squirrel or wabbit is in the area.
That is so exciting Bailie! We can say that we knew you when you were just an average GBGV. Congratulations, I’m sure that you will have many more jobs!
We are always thankful for each job we get since there are no guarantees for more, but we are hopeful!
Great interview, girls! Congrats on your first gig, Bailie! The first of many, I’m sure!!
We hope she will work more, but being a puppy still, she has lots of time to work on her career!
Good job Bailie…you are a working girl now!
She is old enough to contribute to the family finances, a good step forward!
Congrats to Bailie for landing the job! Sounds like a fun gig. And what a cute interview 🙂
Thank you. It really was a great job for her and she did have fun even though it was a lot of work.
That is so awesome, how very cool! Lovely interview Emma.
We are pretty happy for Bailie around here.
Congrats Bailey! 🙂 It’s super cool you got to be in a video! I hope we can see some snippets of it soon?
They did not tell us when the video will be going online, but I know there will be lots of editing and work that needs to be done, so it will be a while but I will post about it when it comes out.
Congratulations Bailie! That’s fabulous. I hope you had a super great time and maybe we can see the video too what Mr. Juan made. I bet you will get your own star on the walk of fame soon :o)
We are really proud of her, and she did a great job!
Well done Bailie – I do hope we will get to see the finished video?!!
Once it comes out, I will post on it, but it may be a while as these things usually take time.
Bailie this is wonderful news, a super star 🙂 Hope we get to see the finished video xxxoxxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
I will definitely post when the video is out, but it will not be for some time as it needs to be made and edited, etc.
Obviously talent runs in your family!
I think Bailie learns from me 🙂
Hey Bailie
I can’t believe your Mom has you out working already! 🙂 It sure sounds like you nailed it though, I wouldn’t have been able to do the whole boot thing as I detest boots! Well done you, just make sure you’re Mom doesn’t swipe any of your earnings and hands it all over in treats! 🙂
Well done for not forgetting to fit in some Mischief! 🙂
I hope you’re having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Bailie doesn’t seem to mind wearing stuff and walking, so she was ideal for the job. We are proud of her.
I am looking forward to seeing the video! How great it is to get Bailie started in a career so early. I know it is a lot of work, but fame and fortune is a lot of fun.
She is getting a early start on so many things, it is really good for her. None of us are deprived by any means, but with each puppy, Mom seems to learn more about what to do.
Awwwwe…you are precious Bailie! Can’t wait to see your video! Too cool!
Thank you, we are excited to see what the video looks like too!
Congratulations, Bailie! I’m looking forward to seeing the video.
Congrats on your first acting job, Baily! I just know you were pawsome and are looking forward to seeing your video 🙂
Thanks, we are excited to see it too!
You girls are so good, working and contributing to the household! I’m impressed with Bailie, doing such a good job at such a young age. Love the photos and the story! =D
Thanks. It is good for her to get used to helping fund the treats around here!
