I was recently contacted by WellPet to see if I would be interested in trying out their new CORE Superfood Protein bars. Being an active family, this sounded perfect for us…I mean you humans have your protein snacks, we dogs should too! WellPet is home to the family of premium pet food brands including Wellness®, Old Mother Hubbard®, Eagle Pack® and Holistic Select®. They have over one hundred years of experience delivering on the promise of making the healthiest natural products for pets.
I do need to explain right off the bat why I say they are dangerously tasty. My sisters and I are fortunate to taste lots of different snacks, we almost always like them, but some really make us wild because they are extraordinarily tasty. Mom was photographing my sisters and I as we were tasting these protein bar snacks. They were so yummy! It was Bailie’s turn for a photo, Mom had a snack in her hand and not thinking, put her hand by her face to adjust the camera she was holding in her other hand. Bailie could not wait and jumped full force into the camera causing it to smash into Mom’s nose. Ouch! Mom now has a black and blue swollen lump on her nose. I think she learned her lesson, and luckily the camera was not damaged. Good help with some common sense is so hard to find these days!
I got the WellPet’s CORE Superfood Protein bar packages out of the box and had to immediately defend them from my sisters. Somehow, they knew these were going to be good, so I gave them the “get lost” look. I received Turkey & Duck with Kale Recipe and Beef & Bison with Blueberries Recipe. They also have Chicken & Turkey with Sweet Potatoes Recipe and Salmon & Whitefish with Pomegranates Recipe.
Dogs need a source of animal protein in order to thrive and lead healthy, active lifestyle. That means treating us to tender, savory meat! The all new Wellness CORE Superfood Protein bars have unique protein-packed flavors and superfoods rich with essential nutrients that will have even pet parents salivating! These snacks are grain free for my friends that are on grain free diets, all natural, made in the USA, and best of all, they are under 21 calories a piece! For my family, they are bite sized pieces, but if you are a small dog, they can easily be broken into smaller pieces.
We decided to try out the Beef & Bison with Blueberries Recipe first. Absolutely top in taste is the rating I give these snacks! Moist, chewy and full of flavor!
Once we cleansed our palates with a bowl of water (we learned that in nose work class) we tried the Turkey & Duck with Kale Recipe. They were super tasty too, just as moist and chewy, only a lighter color.
I am proud to recommend the CORE Superfood Protein bars to my friends. Make sure and order a few bags because they are out of the dog house pawsome and six ounces is gone before you can wipe up the drool! It is hard for me to believe something this healthy for dogs can be so good! On a side note for fun, can you guess which flavor is our favorite and caused the nose injury to my photographer?

It is Tasty Tuesday, so naturally I am joining the Tasty Tuesday blog hop sponsored by Kol’s Notes and Sugar the Golden Retriever. If you are looking for tasty ideas, take a look at what other dogs are baking and eating!
I’ll guess that your favourite was Turkey and Rice, while it was Beef and Bison that cause Bailie to go on her mad rampage. (Give your Mom a good snuggle to help her feel better)
Mom is doing okay, she just can’t wear her sunglasses without some pain. No matter, those treats are great and that is super important!
Wow, these sound good. Great review, Emma!
They are amazing and healthy too!
Wow they really loved them a crushed nose during the photo shoot???? Hope it is feeling better. Have a great day.
That accident is something none of us ever thought could happen, but it you are putting such a tasty treat by your face and your subject is a food monster puppy, it can happen.
They sure sounded good. Have a terrific tasty Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
They are great…sadly those bags will soon be empty.
Ouch is right…that youngster Bailie and her darn enthusiasm! These sound like pretty yummy treats – the flavors are like people food! Thanks Emma.
I bet even Jack could eat them and they are great after a run or other workout 😉
Yum! Those sound so good. I wonder if the mom will order me some? I need to discuss this with her. I graduated from puppy class Part 1 last night. I deserve the CORE Superfood Protein bars as my graduation present! XOXP Sparkle the PBGV
That is a great idea! I think Chewy.com has them. We are going to order more for sure! Congratulations on your puppy class graduation, good work!
It worked!! She ordered me some!!! XOXO Sparkle the pBGV
You will just love them!
yummmy!!!! Dangerously yummy!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!

With all the tasty treats you review, some days I wonder how you have the strength to go on and try another tasty one. It’s got to be deliciously exhausting, nice work!
Treat testing is a hard job but I am ready and willing to do it for all my dog friends out there 😉 There is a reason why we walk so much and I am running again…have to make room for treats!
I’m surprised you don’t have your noses halfway down the bag in some of those pics! Look tasty!
If Mom left me alone with the bag I would be in it, believe me!
I hope your mom is feeling better! I have had the same thing happen to me before.
Those bars look awesome! Ace would definitely love them too. I agree with Olive, you guys have some major self-control skills to hold off from helping yourselves to the entire bag in some of those pics!
I think we all understand the photo concept and if we wait we get rewarded, except for the camera incident, it works well.
Those sound tasty indeed! We love dangerously delicious treats!
They are out of this world good, really!
What?!? No wabbit?? Well I’m glad you liked them anyway!
Wabbit is something special…if we had wabbit every day, it would lose the pizzaz…although catching wabbits daily never gets old!
Beef, bison and a little blueberry, yummy
Exactly, that is the absolute top flavor! You boys would go wild with them!
That was a great review. You always get the best goodies coming you your place!
I’m lucky that companies realize the wonderful taste buds we have at our house…I do my best to provide a fair and honest test with my sisters.
Very nice review
Thank you.
Lucky Emma we wanted to try those too but didn’t get picked! They look super yummy and want to give them a try. Love Dolly
You should order a package, they are so good! Beef and Bison is my favorite!
Obviously these protein treats are much better than the human kind, because I don’t think any human would get that excited about eating a protein bar! After seeing your Mom’s post on FB, I couldn’t wait to find out what treats you were trying, because I think we need to get some.
I’m guessing the beef & bison were your favorite….there’s something about the look in Bailie’s eyes in that photo series!
Yep, Beef & Bison won out. They are really awesome, we rarely got so crazy for treats and Bailie’s eyes were the giveaway!
Those sound and look super tasty guys! I have been seeing more protein bars for doggies lately. I will have to remember your mom’s camera incident because sometimes I do that with Shiner and she does like to jump up and steal the treats.
It is still real tender a few days after the accident. She will definitely be more careful from now on!
Glad you enjoyed so much this treat. The Turkey n Kale sounds DELISH! Happy Tasty Tuesday. Golden Woofs
I can see Sugar loving the Turkey & Kale. We love the Beef & Bison the best.
Those treats look yummy! Hope your mommy’s nose is okay!
It is still sore and colored but the swelling is down. The hazards of working for dogs!
I expect Bailie will learn to control her enthusiasm. I hope your mum’s nose feels better soon!
She better! I don’t like Mom getting hurt.
Those look super yummy and healthy. Too bad about your Mom’s nose. Occupational hazard I guess.
At least it was not broken, just swollen and a new color. Main thing is that the snacks were awesome!
