Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other’s eyes for an instant? Henry David Thoreau
Beauty in my eye is the ice melting off the frozen body of water, with glistening morning sunshine.
Beauty in my eye is the return of the Canadian Geese even though we don’t like having them around because they are mean and messy, they are beautiful. These Canadian Goose photos are for my friend Flea. Miss Flea loves these guys and had one at her house last year. She also had a great blog all about healthy, tasty dog treats, stop by and give her a woof!
Beauty in my eye is seeing the Seagulls return and share the ice with the Canadian Geese.
As much as I love winter, I am ready for spring to bring the beauty of flowers, trees and green grass.

Thank you.
What great shots! Every time I try to do closeups…all I get in blurry photos. But I have a camera from the Flintstone era, so that’s probably why.
Beautiful! The mom wants to know if you get hummingbirds up there. She LOVES those hummers, but she does not see many in Florida. Her flower beds are butterfly and hummingbird friendly. Have a fantastic Friday! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
We do have them. We don’t have a feeder but as a kid, Mom’s family had a feeder for them and a lot of folks do. They are cool little birds!
Beautiful and we love the eyes. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
I’ve got an eye on you!
Oh Emma, you made our mom cry a little this morning. She said your post is just beautiful. She loves winter too, but she really loves the sunshine and brightness of spring. On our walks lately she keeps saying “ahhhh, it’s spring.” Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine! (We have the geese too and they are a bit nasty here–they hiss at me and Lilly.) your doodle friend, Dash
Those geese are gorgeous but we wish they would all leave town as they are nothing but trouble. Spring is definitely in the air around here…lots of fun stuff for us to sniff. Bailie is really excited because for her it is all really new! We saw 5 wabbits on our walk this morning, so it will be a great day!
I agree there is so much beauty in your eyes! And to see how the nature wakes up after hibernation is beautiful too. Have a wonderful friday!
Most importantly, the wabbits are coming out but Mom can’t take a photo of them because she needs both hands and all her muscles to hold us back when we see one!
So much beauty. I too am glad to see the snow and ice leave for a new kind of beauty that awaits us.
Hard to believe a week ago we had a half foot of new snow and now the snow is pretty much gone and the ice is melting fast. The grass even seems to be getting a bit more green!
Beautiful eyes! And i love the sun glistening on the ice, very very nice.
The sun on the ice and water is so nice and sparkly!
Pretty eyes, and those geese and seagulls make a lovely pattern π
Thank you!
Beautiful post! I love taking photos of my huskies eyes! Eyes say so much with no words! Love it!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Mom loves the color of our eyes. Bailie and I are similar in the brown, but Katie has gorgeous amber colored eyes.
beautiful shots and beautiful quote beautiful post!
retro rover
Thank you, thanks for sniffing around!
Beauwoowooootiful eyes!
Thank you!
Dogs have the best eyes – so soulful! Love the ice/sparkly water pic!!
That may be a good one to look at in July when it is so hot out!
Love the close ups, they reminded me of a question I meant to ask. You can see that Bailie and Emma have slightly different hair textures. Is it because Bailie still has a puppy coat, or is it more just the diversity of the breed? Along the same lines, will Bailie’s hair end up growing down her ears like Emma’s hair does?
The soft hair like Emma is a lot of work, so it is slowly being replaced with more coarse, wire hair. Bailie is simple to care for. I like the cute look of the soft fur better but Bailie is so easy! Both coats attract dirt and stuff like a swiffer, though. I don’t think Bailie will ever have longer hair anywhere as Emma already had it by Bailie’s age.
Katie’s eye contrast so perfectly with her coat- beautiful!
Mom calls them her amber eyes.
Beautiful eyes, mommy said. I said beautiful eyes for dogs. Everyone knows cats eyes are mysteriously lovely.
Oh, okay, yes, your eyes are lovely too!
I think cat and dog eyes are beautiful. We have great shots of my kitties eyes too, just not on this post.
Aww, so pretty. I love the little hairs over the dogs’ eyes. Like bangs. π
As long as it doesn’t get in the eyes we like it too.
Love the Thoreau quote with the closeups. Couldn’t agree more, winter has overstayed its welcome by a long way.
We are enjoying the springiness right now for sure!
Our park is full of seagulls right now so I have to chase them away. At least they are better than geese! Love Dolly
Both are pests but we prefer seagulls, geese are bad news!
EMMA WE LOVE YOUR POST WE ALL NEED TO SEE BEAUTY THROUGH THE EYES OUR PETS.
HUGS MADI AND MOM
Thank you and thank you for coming by π
Each and every photo is beautiful, Emma. I love the colors in the water shot. I’ve been hearing the geese in the mornings, but haven’t seen any yet. I’m so glad it means spring is here, it is time for that change.
Always better to hear than to see them. So pretty but such rude creatures!
You and your sisters have lovely eyes. Do you bark at the geese? Pierre used to live in an apartment and ducks would come to the window. He wasn’t a fan of them and liked to make them scatter.
No we don’t bark or howl at them, but we would love to chase them. Mom would love to let us go right into a flock, but who knows when we would come back, so that won’t happen.
Love those photos – and pleased I could tell who was who from the small glimpse.
Bailie and I are similar but have our differences.
Great pictures!
Thank you!
Emma, your eyes say so much – they speak to me… Harley
Shall I take that as a bit of flirting π
Hi Y’all!
This time of year there is beauty everywhere!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Around here it isn’t quite that far yet, but soon. Still pretty brown and dirty.
Gorgeous!!
π
Emma and Bailie’s eyes are the same color. All the snow melted here … all gone (but its in the news snow might be coming back π ) We hear lots of quacking around … Happy Seeing Beauty. Golden Woofs
Our snow is gone too and now it is raining but they say some snow next week. That’s okay as it is too warm for it to stay if it comes.
I wonder if the geese and gulls are wondering when the ice will finally be gone for good. π Beautiful pictures. Love the ones of the the dogs’ eyes. Have a wonderful weekend.
We always think they came back a bit early, but we don’t know how they decide when to return. They don’t seem to be cold at least.
Your pictures are beautiful! We like to bark at the geese when they fly over our house and quack!
Mom wants to let us go and chase them but she can’t because we may not come back or might run onto a road. They are major pests!
Beautiful photos! And, I love the concept of this post. I would love to be able to see the world through my dogs’ eyes, if just for a moment. I wonder how they experience the world, what they feel, and what it is like.
Mom would like that too. My Sony Action Cam gives her a peek from my level but not how my eyes see things. She says she doesn’t want my nose, though.
We could not agree more. And it’s difficult to be teased with a whopping 81 degree day yesterday and then to hear reports of snow overnight tonight. (!!)
We just walked and had some lovely ice rain…spring is on break again.
Some truly stunning photos!!
Thank you!
You showcased some truly beautiful photos here Emma.
Thank you!
