Once again here in Minnesota, we went from winter weather right into summer. It is so green out right now, it is amazing. I thought I would share a few odds and ends of what I have been up to around the old homestead since we returned from Las Vegas.
Last week we were finally able to plant flowers. It is always a messy project that I enjoy helping out with. It was Bailie’s first attempt at planting flowers, so I showed her how it works. We got all our planters done and did not even mess up our fur!
We are playing chase and wrestle almost every night in our yard for a good 20-30 minutes. That darn little whipper snapper of a sister is real fast! Her legs are longer and she can take corners like you would not believe! The weather cools off most evenings making it ideal GBGV racing temps.
After all that work and play, we need a bit of resting time. Sadly our second doggy cot ripped, so we are down to just one. Bailie and I both love to lie on it, which means we have had to learn to share sometimes. I think her big butt is taking up too much space, but Mom says we should not fight over silly things like that. I have to say, sharing can be a real pain in the fur at times!
With our activities, we sure work up a good appetite! Just my luck, the UPS dude rang the bell and had a package for me. No surprise since pretty much all the packages that arrive are for me. Merrick sent me a nice card and two bags of super tasty snacks – Wingalings and Brauts-N-Tots! How did they know I was hungry? I tried to rip open the Brauts-N-Tots, so those are the ones we get to eat first. Talk about yummy! Thank you so much Merrick. You have been a pleasure to work with on your #BestDogEver campaign and it was great meeting you at BlogPaws.
Lastly, we have a winner from the Merrick giveaway of one month of the Merrick Dog Food of your choice. Congratulations to Spencer and his mom. If you don’t know Spencer, stop by his blog and give him a howl! What a coincidence, they are also in Minnesota, but we have never met in the fur! Enjoy your prize!

Aw! Looks fun!
Lots of Woofs from Earl and I at Earl’s World!
We are having lots of fun as always!
We had a bit of an increase in temperature for like three days last week but now we are back to the usual: rain and clouds. However, Mama got a lot of the planting done in those days so the yard is looking fine- we even have some new grass (which I totally do not rip up!). Enjoy your summer time!
It is super warm during the day and cool at night for sleeping. Perfect weather.
Thanks so much for joining the hop. π Too bad about your doggie cot. π At least the postman brought you some goodies.
It is the second cot that died on us, so we aren’t getting a new one. Maybe all the treats we are eating has something to do with it all?
Just love you guys in you hats. It’s nice to see you running in the yard with no snow banks. Enjoy it while you can!
We can go much faster with grass under our paws. It is a lot of fun. We love having all the seasons as it never gets old!
The mom says Bailie is taking up to much space on the cot. She says Bailie is centered and you, Emma, have parts of you NOT on the cot! I get in trouble here for thinking everything is MINE! Isn’ t it? XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Around here I know everything is mine, but my cats and sisters always want to use my stuff. Not fair.
Love the cot. Even when they have two, they always want to share the one here. Great job getting all the planting done. Gardening is hard work.
Mom isn’t a big gardener and says it is a pain in the rear but needs to be done. We enjoy the dirt and digging part.
It sounds like you are having a lovely time Emma. I miss watching Sampson and Delilah play. Granted they are bigger dogs so they don’t play for very long, but I still enjoy watching. I’m hoping one day they can get back to it.
And it’s pretty awesome that Merrick knew you’d need some yummies, their delivery was very timely.
Thank you for joining the blog hop!! I hope you have some great weather coming up so you get lots more zoomies in.
We have great zoomie weather. Katie and I used to play like Bailie and I do now, but with her age, she doesn’t do that anymore. Mom says she could watch us chase and wrestle forever.
You too girls look so cozy on the bed together. Have a great day.
We don’t cozy up with each other much at all, so this is a rare event.
Oooh, you got Wingalings? I got the Brauts N Tots and Cowboy Cookout treats. Those folks at Merrick are just the #bestpeopleever, don’t you agree? Enjoy your treats Emma…and share with Bailie.

I love that new hashtag! Perfect. They are really awesome and I love those treats and the food too! I share with Katie and Bailie…Bert wants in too, but I had to put my paw down and remind him he is a cat and has his own cat treats!
Looks like you girls have certainly been busy…busy having lots of fun! Momma says she was unaware that you lived in Minnesota. She went there once to visit family who lives there. Are you near the Mall of America? If you are, you’ve even possible meet her Uncle, who owns a SOCK store in the Mall!
That is cool. We are about 20 mins south of the mall. Mom rarely goes there as it is always so busy and it is so big. We know there is at least one sock store in the mall. That is cool! Mom has a hole in her sock this morning and has been talking about buying more socks, so it is funny you mention a sock store!
BOL, it is pretty funny how things like that happen! Momma says the stores name is Sox Appeal. She’s sure that there will be plenty of no-hole sockes to check out there!
Yep, that would be the one she has seen before.
Sun, fun and treats – life is good! Hopefully Bailie is done growing or you guys are going to get really cozy on that cot.
She still needs to fill out…skinny teenage body still.
We agree sun, fun and treats what more could any of us want? Glad you are now enjoying the big outdoors. Have a tremendous Thursday,
Best wishes Molly
We love being outside when it is nice out and not too warm.
Hey Emma, looks like you’ve been busy lately. A little work, a little play and a few treats. What more could you ask for!
Busy working out hard which is actually fun, so I can eat all these treats that keep arriving at my door. If I was an only dog, I would have to give them away!
How cool – we lived in Minnesota for a couple of years and loved spring summer and fall – winter not so much π Our Dad especially loved all the bike trails you could ride on safely.
We are one of the top bike riding places in the country, and we have a huge population that even bikes to work year round! Yes, we are crazy here, but we love it and we love winter but don’t bike in the winter.
Emma, you seem to be enjoying this gorgeous weather just as much as Harley & Leo. It makes everyday feel like the weekend doesn’t it? We’re so proud of you for sharing the cot too. I know it’s not easy, but somebody’s got to do it!
The beginnings of summer are always great. By August we are sick of it and ready for a new season. It is just so pretty out now with everything flowering.
You gals are so cute with your hats. Love the photos!
We’re the hat girls. We love wearing them and our friends love seeing us wearing them. Have a fun day!
Hooray for summer and planting stuff! We have the garden up and running for the season, as well as an aquaponic garden. Little fishies.
Oh boy! On Monday I will have a fish post π We are lovin’ summer so far!
Congrats to the lucky winner!!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Emma, You flowers are beautiful!! We love these spring/summer days too. Mom planted her flowers this past weekend too. We tried to help, but I am not sure we were much help. Now we have new sod in the back yard and mom keeps telling us “off, off” But we get to walk a lot more so we don’t do any “business” back there! Win Win for us, I say!! Your doodle friend, Dash
We have some dead areas, but Bailie keeps messing around in the dirt and seed. They may just have to stay bare.
I love seeing the nice spring/summer pics of you ladies! And congrats to Spencer for winning the food! Jealous!
It is a nice change up from snow π
It looks like it’s been a nice spring there! We had some warm weather too but it has now cooled down some.
We also received those treats yesterday….it really has been great working with Merrick, they are so generous!
Merrick is wonderful. They were super nice and fun at BlogPaws too!
Congrats to Spencer! Looks like you guys are having a great time even without any snow! Love Dolly
We like all the seasons, but summer is our least favorite because of the heat. We are happier when it is cold. Right now it is pretty nice.
Oh Emma, now I want a dog cot to lounge in when I’m basking in the sun. We still haven’t planted flowers in our containers yet. Mom really needs to get on that so I can enjoy more flowers in my yard. I’m glad that your treats were tasty. Congratulations to Spencer, he is a cool Goldendoodle! Your Basset, Bentley
You would love the cot if you like comfy spots. I am always on it! Down there where you live in the cold and snow, you wouldn’t want to rush on planting flowers π I still have to get a good photo of my sisters and I with our beads, but we have been so busy we haven’t done it yet. I love them π
That’s too bad your cot went kaputt, but the gardening part is right up my alley too. Especially the hole digging π
Yep, getting the old paws in the wet dirt is great fun!
Y’all look so festive and ready for fun and yum!
That pretty much describes us daily!
We are playing chase too all the time. It’s so fun. Sniff from Laika and Vaks.
Chase and wrestle is our very favorite game!
Oh, looks like you have so much fun with your little sis, even if she is a cot hog! Always fun to get treats in the mail! Congrats to the winner!
We do have lots of fun chasing around!
I love the gardening hats! So cute! We just got back from a trip out of town, too, and we were pleasantly surprised to find everything here in Ohio is super green now, too!
It really happened fast and looks so awesome right now! Soon those pretty flowering trees will turn to just green, the grass will be more brown as the weather heats up, so we really are enjoying it now!
Looks like you’re enjoying some great spring weather! Rudy’s nerves are shot – thunderstorms here every day!
That is sad. None of those here. Bailie and I could care less. Katie gets scared at night but just hides in the bathroom and then it is all okay.
Congratulations to Spencer! Mommy tried to plant flowers in our pots but Diesel tore them all up:( Mommy says we might have to go without flowers in the pots this summer. That stinks!
Mom couldn’t have flowers in the house for many years as we had a cat that would eat them and always dump the vase over in the process. Sadly she has passed, but on the bright side, we have flowers again. None of us dogs are interested in the flowers outside. Planting was fun, but that was it.
