I received two products from a company called VetIQ to review. I started by testing out the Minties Dental Treats. Being a big fan of kissing, I was hoping they would improve my breath so I would get more kisses!
The package was closed but my highly trained hound nose could smell the minty freshness right through the bag! I could not wait to give them a try! A few important facts about Minties:
- Made in the USA
- Remove plaque and tartar
- Clean teeth
- Help maintain healthy teeth and gums
- Freshen breath
- Gluten, soy, and corn free
- No animal by products, sugar, or salt
- No artificial flavors
We opened the package and Mom said they smelled real minty fresh. It was time for me to give one a try! I had it chomped in pieces and eaten in about four minutes, so it did not last long. This was also the medium size bone which is just right for my weight.
Result: Yep, my breath was better and I got to give Mom lots of GBGV kisses!
I also received a package of VetIQ Hip & Joint. Actually, I chose this product for my sister Katie. I was supposed to review this product, but Katie was the one testing these out
so I let her handle the review for the first time, okay, I can’t lie…I was soaking wet from playing in the rain. Mom said she couldn’t do a shoot with me looking like a dirty drowned rat, so Katie got the job. Since the chews were for her anyway, that was fine. I sure hope she does a good job since she is working under my name!
Katie here. I must say, these are quite interesting chews! As with Emma and her Minties, I could smell the goodness right through the bag! They are supposed to be chicken flavor, but Mom says they smell like gingerbread. I don’t really care, they are going to be tasty!
Being my first review on my own, I thought I better read the bag and find out more about what these treats are for and what they do. I have to have my cheaters as I am almost twelve and my eyes just can’t read that fine print like they used to. It is not always easy being a senior dog.
I figured I better check out their website as well to see if I could dig up any further important information. The most important facts I could find were:
- Made in the USA
- Support muscle cartilage
- Lubricate joints
- Maintain muscles
- Wheat free
It was time for me to give one a try. They were over the top tasty, so I was happy that for my weight I should get two a day! I would need to take these for several weeks to see if they help my joints or not. Since I am taking several products for my arthritis/joint pain, it would be hard to decipher if these chews were making a big difference or not. I am going to continue taking them, as they can only help. Each chew has 500mg of Glucosamine and that is something I can always use!
Thank you, Katie, you did a great job! When it comes down to it, Katie and I both give these products a paws up (or paws on the package)!

For the first time, Honey’s breath is a little stinky. Well, I like it. But my husband was complaining.
I finally broke down and started brushing her teeth. But I’d rather give her a few chewies. And you know what? I bet she’d prefer it too.
We love getting our teeth brushed and do it every night, but some chews can only add to our chomper health. These are nice and minty fresh.
Looks good. We have a dental chew everyday and dried food at night keeps our nashers clean. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
We do the same, but we also brush our teeth every night before bed. We love it.
Looks like two great products! Gman would like to kiss you Emma he is a kissable guy that loves to give kisses too!
Us GBGV’s are real hugging and kissing dogs. Send him on over!
Those look yummy. Glad you both enjoyed them.
The Minties are good, but those Hip & Joint Chews are really good!
Great review of the goodies. They look delicious and helpful. – Petnetio Anu
Thank you. We are enjoying them.
That was a great review! And how nice you doing your first one by yourself!!!! I enjoyed it, so thanks for sharing!
I love treats that are filled with that minty goodness! Plus it’s great for doggy breath!!!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Fresh dog breath is a wonderful thing!
Emma, great reviews! But…I find it hard to believe that a beautiful girl like yourself would not have kissable breath. π Katie did a great job on her review. I sure hope those treats help her!

Mom says I am always kissable (well since my lip fold surgery), but now it is even better!
You are kissable no matter what your breath smells like Emma. Thanks for the reviews though – particularly the glucosomine. We are always looking for supplements that work for our two seniors Jack & Maggie.
They are super yummy too! Katie is taking all she can find to help her out.
I’m thinking the list of treats you haven’t tried is shorter than the list of ones you have tried! We should contact Guinness and see if you can get in the record book for most treats tasted.
I know, it is pretty crazy! Good thing we get lots of exercise or it would be a problem. We actually turned down a treat review and opted for a toy later this month.
I’ll have to give these a try. Always looking for good dental chews!
If they smell minty to a human nose, they have to be good, right?
Hey Sweetie, Hmmm…kissable breath huh? Sounds great to me and I would be glad to give you a smooch . (for the sake of science & all) I love dental sticks and Mom just started me on some joint supplements. Tell your big sister Katie that she did a really good job on her review. My mom loves her glasses and totally knows where she is coming from with that small print. Have a fun day! Your Basset, Bentley
Hi Bentley! I am super kissable now! Hope you don’t have joint trouble already? Watching Katie deal with it is not easy. Keep popping the dental sticks π
That was a great review and we send you seven smoochies!
Wow! I think I will review dental chews more often!
Ever since we changed toothpaste (using vanilla mint) Leo’s kisses have been enjoyable. Love the studious look on Katie with the glasses and the tablet –
Katie is a pretty serious girl in general. Since my lip fold surgery, my mouth smells pretty good, but a little extra mintiness doesn’t hurt π
I bet you’re more smoochable than ever now!
I sure am. Too bad I don’t have a kissing booth gig somewhere!
What a great review! I get those mint treats too, specially when I had seafood. But by now no girl came over to kiss me… do you think I should eat more of that mint treats?
My sister Katie would kiss you no matter how your breath is. She loves to kiss boys π
We are huuuuge believers in the helpfulness of joint supplements. Caleb – the Cat who Came Before – went on them and in a week, he was leaping up onto things he wasn’t supposed to be on again! (although as with all supplements – YMMV – your mileage may vary *wink*)
They seem to help Katie for a time and then not as much, so we keep trying new ones. Rotation may be the key.
those sound like great products – we use glucosomin powder in the boys food – for some reason they won’t eat the chews
Wow, even picky me loves the chews.
Very proud of you Katie! Love Dolly
She really did her best to do a good job for me π
Katie really stepped up to the plate and did a good job for you, Emma! She looks cute in her cheaters too!
She looks like a fine older lady I think.
You girls are so lucky you got to try these awesome goodies. Emma, did you also taste the second product? I bet you did! Katie did a fine job on her portion of the review.
Bailie and I are both eating the Hip & Joint Chews too, but Katie had to do the review. They are super yummy!
I love that fluffy paw picture!
Just call me fluff paw from now on!
Great reviews ladies! We reviewed both of these last year and think they are pawsome products. Shiner really likes those <Minties and I don't think I've ever smelled such a lovely smelling dog treat before!
Mom says they are just like human breath mints.
We are all about fresh breath when kissing … dog breath is no fun. I should probably get my dogs on hip and joint preventative. They are getting older fast and are not the puppies they used to be. Not quite old yet but definately maturing π
Mom is starting me on a joint supplement now and I am 7. We didn’t really know about doing all that kind of stuff until Katie already had issues. We may even start Bailie sometime in her first year just to build up what she needs to prevent problems later on.
We are trying a new one for Sampson too. So far it seems good. Great job Katie!! You better watch out Emma. π
Katie just started Revitamal, it is supposed to be a super wonder supplement. We will know in a few days if it helps or not. We are hopeful.
