Collars are a big deal at my house, heavens, Mom has a serious collar addiction as we have over sixty in our collection! dogIDs.com contacted me to see if I would be interested in reviewing some of their personalized dog collars. I jumped on that offer as if it was a wabbit! One kind of collar we have never had would be the personalized variety, and being birthday month at my house, I could give my sisters each a personalized collar as a birthday gift. ***Our collars all came with our phone number, but I took it off or just left the first number for my blog photos. I figured all the boy dogs would be calling us gorgeous, fun girls if they got my number, and I didn’t want to use up all my minutes.***
I picked out three different collar styles. There are several personalization fonts to choose from, but I like to see something fun, so I chose the Kristin font. For Bailie and me, I chose something sporty with a metal buckle, and for Katie I got something a bit more classy with a side release buckle like our collars usually have.
To tell you a bit about dogIDs.com, they are a family run business in Fargo, ND founded in 2005. Their products are all made in the USA, and eco friendly. They specialize in high quality dog ID tags and personalized dog collars, but they’re constantly adding new products including leashes, safety clothing, harnesses, bowls, health products, etc. Because they believe dogs deserve only the best, they only offer high quality products!
For myself, I chose an Engraved Reflective Personalized Dog Collar in my favorite color red. Some of the features I love about it are:
- Durable, stink proof and waterproof
- Scotchlite reflective strip for nighttime walking/activities
- Available in seven different colors
- Non-corrosive hardware
- Five buckle holes for just the right fit
- Laser-engraving guaranteed for my lifetime
I have a lot of outdoor activities and am low to the ground, so my collars normally get dirty and smelly in a short amount of time, but not this collar. My name and phone number are engraved on the collar, so I don’t have to wear all my tags which means I don’t jingle. No jingle means I can sneak up on wabbits and squirrels and it makes concentrating on my nose work easier!
Katie is a fancy lady, so for her I chose a Personalized Designer Nylon Ribbon Collar in her color, pink. Some of my favorite features of her collar are:
- Available in five adjustable sizes
- Ten designs to choose from
- 2-ply tough construction using high density nylon webbing and grosgrain ribbon
- Welded “D” ring that you can count on no matter how hard your dog pulls
- X-box nylon stitching that is guaranteed to never come apart
Katie loves it, and her collars rarely get dirty, so it is perfect for her. She has her name and phone number on the buckle, so wearing tags is optional for her as well.
Last but not least, I chose a Reflective ScruffTag Personalized Dog Collar for Bailie. She was purple girl in her litter of fourteen, and likes accessories in purple, so naturally I picked out a purple collar, and I loved that I could put a few words on it. Because she is the baby in the family, I added, “Call my mom!”. Features of her collar I really like are:
- 3M™ Scotchlite™ embedded for bright reflection in the dark
- Waterproof & odor resistant
- Corrosion proof stainless steel hardware
- Lifetime Guarantee
- Seven color options to choose from
- 5 adjustment holes for a good fit
- Tough
Bailie loves how her collar looks; real fancy, but real sturdy. She will be starting tracking later this summer, where she will need a collar that stands up to the elements and doesn’t have tags jingling as she moves around.
We are really happy with our new collars! dogIDs.com has been a pleasure to work with. Being a small company their customer service is real personalized…just like their collars! They answered questions we had about the products in a timely fashion and shipped our order out in no time as well. We would definitely recommend ordering products from dogIDs.com.

Those are great collars. They look pretty and sturdy. Love the idea of personalizing them. 🙂
The ones Bailie and I have would be great for your pups as they are waterproof, don’t get dirty or smelly. We swim and so do your dogs which makes them ideal.
Those are great, I love the pink 🙂 xxxooxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
Pink is our Katie dog. Pretty in pink we always tell her.
those are stylish indeed and a wonderful color choice
Thank you. We think they all suit us well.
We used to get personalized collars years ago, but it was stitched into the collar itself and didn’t always last, so we stopped getting them. I like that the lettering goes right on the buckle. I especially like that they are odor resistant! I thought we had a lot of collars but I was looking for a different one for Sheba yesterday because hers was stinky, and we don’t have as many as I hoped…so I might have to look into these.
The ones Bailie and I got are real weather and stink proof. Katie’s will get wet and smell if I wear it, but for her it works fine. They have a ton of great collars to choose from, and if you have questions, they get back to you right away.
Great review, I like the waterproof and non stink part. Thank you for sharing.
That was a big influencing factor when I picked the ones for Bailie and I.
Very nice! I particularly like the photo of Katie. That is a beautiful collar on a beautiful lady. =) We have a really cool collar from http://www.montanagrrl.com/ – it is handmade for Topper. I bet Bonnie would love to have one with her name, I might have to check out this website. =)
Take a look, they have a real wide variety to choose from.
You girls are so stylin’! You should be on a runway in New York or maybe even Paris (a perfect place for a French scent hound!) XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
You are right. I wonder if we could swim the Atlantic to get there? I don’t want to fly in cargo again 😉
You need your own luxury liner…the Queen Emma. Dream BIG! Sparkle the PBGV
I really like Katies. I hate tags, so the built in ID tag is great.
It looks real nice on her and is as high quality as the other ribbon collars we have. For us dirty and short dogs we wanted to try something different that doesn’t get all dirty and smelly but Katie doesn’t have that problem. No real need for tags with any of these.
wow! Those look super cool! We have personalized ID tags etc….but not a personalized collar yet! Thanks for sharing!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
We always have the tags, but never had a collar with our info on it. These are going to be great.
These look great, I want to get a couple new collars for Eko and Penny so I’ll have to check them out.
Will they be sporting the partner look or something totally different for each one? They have a wide variety of styles, colors, and materials as well as other great supplies. We recommend them. For Penny just get a piece of pink elastic for the first months since she will be growing like a weed – a cute weed.
I’m thinking a partner pair at the moment but we’ll see. Penny the weed will keep her basic puppy collar at least until she’s ready for the full size neckband. Which at this rate won’t be very long.
Great review and awesome collars! I like that they are waterproof and stink-proof! Pierre and I do a lot of down & dirty wrestling, so our collars get dirty pretty quick. I love all three of your collars. I know your sisters were impressed with their early birthday gifts. I’m glad that you didn’t give the other boys your phone number. XXOO Your Basset, Bentley
Bailie and I get pretty dirty too, so these will be great! Have a fun day, my dear 🙂
I must say Emma, the color selection for you and your sisters are pawfect. They all seem to match the pawsonalities I’ve grown to know through your blog posts. I especially like the fact that they are waterproof. Harley & Leo only wear collars when we’re outside. All collars seem to mat up their hair around the neck line so we take them off indoors.
So you live in a nudist home? Wow! We only get naked at night when we go to bed 😉 The boys look more like Katie’s type, fairly clean, not down and dirty like Bailie and I.
Those are beautiful collars Emma, you did a fine job picking them out. I love the reflective stripe. Delilah being chocolate and all sometimes gets lost to me in the dark. No worries, she is always on the end of the leash but I can’t always see where exactly she is. (It stinks getting old!) I would love a nice reflective collar for her.
Thank you. We are all quite happy. The reflective stripe is great for Bailie and I since we are short and hard to see in the dark. Plus ours don’t get dirty or smelly 😉
The look great. I specially like Katie’s but I’m not sure if they are for boys too…. no wait… if they are for real men too :o)
Oh, no worries, they have manly ones too in manly colors. We like to stay feminine around here 😉
Oh! How cool!
Lots of Woofs from Earl and I at Earl’s World!
Thanks 🙂
Those really are attractive and y’all look wonderful in them!
Thanks. Bummer they don’t have them for kitties.
Very cool collars but I’m only allowed one at a time! Darn! Love Dolly
What? Don’t you have a closet where you keep your collection? We are always switching our collars around here.
Hey Emma. You girls are stylin’ in your new dogIDs collars. You know, I won a nylon scrufftag collar from dogIDs at My Pawsitively Pets and I love it! The best part…they had my signature color too…blaze orange. How great is it that they have so many colors and patterns to choose from? You always look smashing in red…and the pink for Katie just seems sweet and purrfect…and purple for Bailie? Do you think she will consider herself royalty now? Don’t let that young one’s head get too big! BOL
Oz
Oh Bailie already has quite an ego for a puppy! Luckily I don’t think she knows purple is a color for royalty, and I most certainly won’t tell her! I think our collars will be great for our sports stuff. We should get together with you for a real colorful collar shot!
They look LOVELY. Allie approves of the pink – she says one can NEVER go wrong with that color choice 😉
It suits Katie real well. It is a bit too feminine for Bailie and I. We each have a touch of tomboy so bold and bright is more us.
I’m a big fan of dogIDs, and you ladies look so pretty in your new collars! Ace has two collars from dogIDs, and they are high-quality products. I also love when you don’t have the annoying, jingling tags.
Awesome! They seem to be a great company and the collars are all great.
Oh we do love the dogIDs collars here too! My favorite is Katie’s I think. But I do like your red one too Emma. The waterproof idea is great.
The ones for Bailie and I are more for our sporty times and summertime when we are in the pool or lake a lot. They are real nice.
Well, those are pretty fancy indeed!
Mom does call me fancy pants sometimes, but I never really wear pants.
These collars look paw-some and great timing! When I was at my grandma’s this past weekend she was telling me that my pals Louie and Callie don’t the jingle on their collars. So these collars would be wonderful for them!!! Thank you so much for a great review! 🙂
Mom really tunes out the jingles most of the time, but she does use them subliminally to hear where we are.
Looking lovely ladies!!
Thank you!
What great collars and so stylish! Love that “Call my mom” 🙂
I thought it was perfect for the baby in the family!
They all look great! For some of us it is very important for a collar to be strong!
I think you were right about not exposing your phone numbers, Emma. Your phone wouldn’t have stopped ringing!
Hah! I;m also the paranoid kind who doesn’t want my phone number to show up. The reflective in the dark feature is convenient. We walk alot at night when it’s cooler.
The reflective stripe will be great for us in the winter in the dark.
I might have to look into the reflective collar. We’re looking for waterproof options!
The reflective ones are waterproof and the metal parts will hold up in salt water as well. We really like these collars.
