You may remember, I got my driver’s license about a year and a half ago. I have been sharing a car with Mom since then and I was thinking I would like to have my own set of wheels. I have made some money with my modeling and blogging, Mom pays all my expenses, so I figure I could afford a car now. Mom has a practical SUV, but a girl like me needs something more sporty. The other day I went to see our sales lady Linda at Burnsville Volkswagen to see what they might have for me. She is real nice, never pushy, and likes dogs too. I am a German car dog who likes good quality. I figure if they are safe on the Autobahn, they should be safe here. I just wish we had an Autobahn here. I miss riding with Mom when she drove really fast! There is nothing better than racing to puppy school at 150mph!
They have so many cars on the lot and being short I have to go up and down every aisle to have a look. Humans can look over the lot when standing, but not me. It was hot out too, so it was not an easy task.
Out front I found a cute red EOS convertible. Gramma has one in white that I like to ride in. This baby in racing red could be an option. I am thinking I need a small car, since I am pretty small.
This Beetle looks a bit ridiculous. I think the racing stripes are kind of “boy like”, but boys don’t drive yellow cars. It could be my bumble bee car I guess.
I pretty much have decided I would like a convertible. I love the feeling of my ears blowing in the wind as I cruise down the highway, and I already have a pair of Doggles, so I am set. This one is kind of fun and it comes with balloons!
Finally I found just the right car for me! Look at this baby! Small, white, convertible. It is loaded with all the options, I know this is the one! Linda let me take it for a test spin in the store. It was perfect!
We went back to Linda’s desk to run the numbers. This is where things all went south. Evidently, I have no credit, my income isn’t stable, and as a dog is is very expensive to get insurance on a car. I was really disappointed. Even if I paid cash, the insurance would kill the deal. What a shame as I loved that little car. I guess I will keep sharing a car with Mom. Maybe she will get something more sporty some day. That was my car shopping trip. Even though she couldn’t make it work for me, if you are in need of a Volkswagen, Linda Radue is a great sales lady! Tell her you are a friend of Emma the GBGV ๐
PS:ย If you like cars or vehicles in general, tune in on Friday to find out about our vehicle searches in nose work!
I am joining theย Monday Mischiefย blog hop brought to you byย Alfieโs Blog,ย Snoopyโs Dog Blog,ย My Brown Newfies.
You can come drive my sporty little convertible anytime Emma! It’s only a two seater so you’d have to pick who else to take with you (Wilhelm, Brychwyn and Huxley all fit but Bailie would not.) I think you all cruisin’ around Cascadia in your Doggles would be quite the sight!
Oh that sounds like fun! I can take whoever would like to ride along. My sister Katie loves convertibles too from her time in the Beetle convertible in Germany.
Gotta tell ya, I am a Honda guy but that little VW mini bug was too cute for words! I think you should have gotten it anyway! This was such a great and unique post, loved it! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Hey, it’s a free country, some like big, some small, some Honda, some VW ๐ The car sure was cute, wasn’t it?
Nevermind but something sporty does sound good. Maybe one where the roof comes off and you can let the wind blow in your furs. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
That wind in the fur feeling is unbeatable!
LOL. Sorry, Emma. You were really rockin’ that convertible!
I know, it had Emma written all over it. Back to the drawing board for now.
Can you get the car and only drive on your property? Would you need insurance. You look so cute, it just breaks my heart that you can’t have it. You have worked so hard for it. You deserve it.
My neighbor has a red Mercedes convertible in red that I have borrowed. He is 3 and lets me drive his cars some times, so I will settle for that.
BOL!!!!! That’s just to bad!!! Sheesh! You found such a pawfect car too! It fit you like a glove! Sorry to hear it didn’t work out! Those cars are all beautiful! And it must have been SO much fun racing to puppy school at that speed! Wowza!
แฆ husky hugz แฆ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Mom loved driving fast and I liked riding with her! It is a bummer with my car idea, I guess I have to figure out a new plan.
Oh, I love that little BumbleBee Bug…but I am a boy, so I guess I would. And why do you say boys wouldn’t drive yellow cars?!? You looked perfect in that little convertible, Emma. I cannot believe they wouldn’t sell it to you. Good grief!
Happy Monday,
Oz
Well, I could buy it, but I couldn’t afford insurance to drive it ๐ I don’t know, I see boys in black, tan, blue, more darker colors I guess, but in FL it might look awesome on the beach with you driving!
I’m so sorry you couldn’t get a car, sweetheart. Maybe in time you’ll mom with chip in on your insurance so you can get that little one. It’s perfect for you, and it’s too small to be any good to an adult human anyway. =)
It sure was a cute ride…we will see what happens.
What a super FUN shopping trip to the car dealership! Sorry it didn’t work out with the financing…a convertible sure would be awesome!
A least I can still ride with Gramma in her convertible. She loves driving topless and so do I ๐ My mom didn’t inherit that gene somehow.
What a fantastically fun and creative post…loved it!!!
Thank you. Now I just have to get creative so I can get that cute car!
I’ve been writing my senator for years asking for approval for dogs to drive cars but I’ve yet to hear back. One day, one day! Looks like you’re ready to hit the highway and let the wind blow back your hair/ears.
I’m ready! Mom doesn’t even like to drive, so I would love to chauffeur her around if I could.
Lots of fun options there. Those driverless cars are coming. Just hold on and we’ll all be out on the roads soon enough.
That may be a good thing as if a squirrel or wabbit crosses the road, I may crash out of excitement if I’m driving.
Oh Emma, you poor thing. You finally found a car where your paws would reach the pedals. I’m so very sad for you.
A serious bummer. I’m the kind of girl that should be driving topless here in the summer.
Emma, you made us all laugh today! But what a drag about the money. But now I want to get my license. I like to ride in the car, but I have never thought of driving the car! I will have to check this out. Have a great day, your doodle friend, Dash
I always want to get in the driver’s seat, but Mom never lets me, I am relegated to the back of the SUV.
Do I smell a Road Trip?! ๐
I hope not…still getting over the Vegas trip last month! That car is a bit small for road trip anyway ๐
Emma, you looked so cool in your mini beetle. You would look even more pawsome in a human beetle. I get put in a crate in the back seat of our Honda, and I cannot even see the moon roof! Bummer. I got to ride shotgun one time and the heated seat felt weird on my beautiful butt. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
I normally ride in the back of the SUV, I love to look out the window at where we have been and also make cute faces at the people behind us!
Lucky you!
Not so lucky because I didn’t get the car.
Well dang! If you can’t get a car, us kitties don’t stand a chance!
Good point. I have trouble with looking out and the pedals, you cats would really have a task!
Emma, I think a SUV is a good ride… you can see what other car drivers do and you are safe if someone will cross your way who has no clue about car driving… let’s say someone like my mom. Butt the cute white beetle is a a nice ride for a girl too I agree… I can see it with my minds eye how your ears and your fur flap from the airflow and how all people turn their heads when they see you in your white ride… but at least every car is ok, as long as you aren’t banned on the back seat like me ( that’s annoying!)
I’m belted in in the back of the SUV. I love to look out the back window and see where we have been and also make the people in the cars behind us laugh!
What a shame. You looked so cute!
Thanks…back to the drawing board.
Here I was hoping you’d drive up to Nord East and I could get a ride in your new car. Sorry it didn’t work out. Girls like to have fun, and it is not fair you didn’t get your white convertible!
I will just have to ride in Gramma’s white convertible for the near future at least.
Emma so sorry to hear you didn’t get your car! I don’t think you know this but my mom had a convertible sports car, she just sold it a few weeks ago. I wish I would have known you like convertibles you could have come with us, I didn’t like it. Once we got the new car I didn’t want to ride in it. Broke mom’s heart, one of the reasons she sold it (and something to do with a bad back). Love Dolly
My mom is the one that isn’t keen on convertibles. She claims it is too loud and messes up her hair.
Dang, and you had such great plans too Emma!
I know, money sure gets in the way of things!
Emma, you sure would have looked awesome in that red convertible! Maybe you can talk your Mom into it someday. I just finally got my first convertible, and guess what? It’s yellow! Luke said he would still drive it though…if I let him. ๐
Everyone seems to love a convertible except for my mom. Oh well, at least Gramma has one I can ride in now and then.
Emma, You know there isn’t much sweeter than a girl driving a convertible! You looked awesome. It’s a shame about the insurance, but I can see where it’d be a deal-breaker. I wonder if I could get a driver’s license. I read the story of yours and am waaay impressed. My mom says nobody should drive 150 m.p.h., but she isn’t a fan of driving fast. She would wear out an imaginary passenger seat brake at that speed. Your Basset, Bentley
I think convertibles are awesome, but Mom isn’t a fan ๐ Driving fast is so fun! We really miss it, I think you would love it, really.
Can you really drive that fast over there? Wow! I’m not sure I’ve ever even gone that fast before lol. I do like that little car, but I might have chosen the big blue one.
The autobahn has no speed limit, it is awesome. Mom got up to 210 mph a couple times when there wasn’t any traffic. You adjust to the speed and traffic rules are real strict and followed by everyone because at high speed it has to be that way. It is a blast!
That little convertible looked like the perfect car for you Emma, sorry it didn’t work out!
It really was a downer, but I’m over it and on to the next thing. Maybe I will figure out a solution at some point.
And that little car was so perfect for you, too! I am so sorry that it didn’t work out for you this time. Better luck next, maybe?
I have my thinking cap on…maybe I can find a way?
Emma – Tell your Mom to take you to a Harley Davidson dealership. You would look so cool on a “lowrider”
Wow, that would involve some serious balancing…do they come with training wheels?
Darn, too bad Emma, I was hoping you could pick me up and we could go for a ride together. Oh well, such a cool car.
Maybe I can use Gramma’s wheels, her convertible is pretty sporty!
You do not need your own car Emma, โโwhen you have your mother’s car with private chauffeur ๐
Sometimes a girl just wants her freedom, you know ๐
Holy CAT, bad credit Emma? *sigh* We animals just can’t catch a break sometimes, can we?
I know. How can I improve my credit if they won’t give me any credit? I feel like they have me chasing my own tail!
That would have been the perfect car for you. Too bad the financials did not work out! ๐
With humans it always revolves around that green paper stuff. As a dog I say who cares, but I live in a human world.
I are more of a Mustang girl myself, but I gotta share wif momma.
Mustangs are for wild guys…good to know that about you ๐
Well, Emma, you could look into a bicycle. They’re much cheaper. And you don’t need insurance. ๐
Mom has seen Norman riding his bike, but with my short legs it would be tough. I may just stick with walking.
A convertible would have been so cool! We could see you driving with your ears blowing backโฆhow awesome that would be! Darn credit anyway!
Humans and their money/rules. It was worth a try.
Well, that certainly is a cute car, but from what I can tell, cars are a real headache with having to put gas in and wash the windows and change the tires and stuff. I think you’re better off letting Mom deal with all that stuff.
I figured I would have her handle the maintenance on my car if I got one. I don’t know anything about that kind of stuff. ๐
Oh man, what a cute convertible! And you look so cute in it! Doesn’t Snoopy sell insurance?? You’d think he’d help a dog out!
You would think being a scent hound I could sniff out a good inexpensive policy, but no luck.
What a clever and awesome post!
Thank you.
That was an awesome car Emma! Too bad it didn’t work out with the insurance. Maybe a bicycle would be nice? Or a skateboard? You don’t need insurance to drive those!
With my short legs, a bike is pretty tough, but maybe a skateboard. Being low to the ground I can balance pretty well.
Typist loves the idea of you having a bumble bee car!!
Bzzzz, bbbzzzzzz, buzz.. ๐
That car was perfect for you Emma. To bad they just couldn’t work it out for you. Personally, I liked the one with balloons. You can never have too many balloons and the car is cute ๐
Balloons are always fun and the cats could play with the long ribbons.
What a day!!!! Your pictures are always amazing…what a joy to share that day with your fav four paws!!!!
Thank you. We have had a funtastic day and the birthday girl is worn out!
That is an awesome car!!! Why????
Hey Emma
So sorry you didn’t get to take home your dream car – doh! Maybe Santa might bring one? ๐
I hope you’re having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy ๐
Santa…he won’t be here for like forever! I will see if I can figure out a way, otherwise, I will just have to borrow my neighbors little cars. He is three and has a nice collection.
