Once upon a time in a small town in Missouri a litter of fourteen, yes, fourteen adorable GBGV puppies was born. There were ten girl and four boy precious puppies, one of which was nicknamed “Purple Girl”. This once upon a time was June 17, 2013, and “Purple Girl” is my little sister Bailie! I can’t believe she is already turning one!
Mom remembers the day she heard about the litter. She told Katie and I she wasn’t going to pay any attention to those Facebook posts because a puppy was out of the question. She did her best to hold off, but somehow, the stars aligned themselves, Bailie showed up on my birthday, and never left. Now Bailie is already turning one and becoming a dog! Everyone put their paws together to wish Bailie a howling happy birthday!
You know me, I love a party, especially when it involves baking! Because my sister is a banana nut, I am baking her Banana Pupcakes. They are real easy to make and fast. Best of all, they taste awesome…I did sneak a taste while working on them.
Cake alone is boring, and it is going to be 90 degrees out, so I chose Blueberry Paws Ice Cream to go on top of the Pupcakes for decorative and cooling purposes. The paws are so easy to make, and they look so fancy. I’m using blueberries because they look purple when you blend them up and purple fits “Purple Girl” when she is turning one!
I think the finished product looks pretty nice, don’t you? It even matches her fun party decorations!Β Click here for a downloadable PDF with my recipes! I promised Bailie she could hold a giveaway on my blog for her special day, so I am turning it over to her.
Woof! Bailie here with my one year old paws on the keyboard. You know my sister Emma is a Pawtner with PrideBites toys. I have three of them already, and I really love them! When Emma asked me what I wanted to give away, these toys were on the top of my puppy mind. I love them all, but Fishy is by far my favorite! I have traveled with Fishy, I can squeak him, shake him, take him in my pool, and he can even go in the washing machine! Because I am turning one, I’m offering one of Emma’s readers one Classic PrideBites toy! All you have to do is fill out the rafflecopter below and one winner will randomly be chosen after a week. Sorry, it is only open to US residents. Good luck to everyone!
Thank you to Easy who sent me a birthday greeting per email π What a charming fellow…maybe he likes me, you know what I mean, wink, wink…
I would also like to wish my thirteen brothers and sisters, wherever they are, a wonderful first birthday as well!
Stay tuned Thursday for photos from Bailie’s actual birthday!Β Follow me on Facebook for some photos during the day tomorrow if you can’t wait until Thursday! Wednesday, I have my next Peanuts post, don’t miss it, who will it be this week?
I am joining the Tasty Tuesday blog hop sponsored by Kolβs Notes and Sugar the Golden Retriever. If you are looking for tasty ideas, take a look at what other dogs are baking and eating!
Happy birthday Bailie!! Were each of your siblings named after a color or something? And you were purple? I would love to see all 14 of you together for an anniversary. Can you imagine?
It seems like many breeders use colored ribbons to tell the pups apart, and Bailie was purple girl. With fourteen, there were more than the basic red, white, yellow, green, etc. Teal girl was another one Mom considered but purple girl stole her heart. It would be great to all be together again, but I doubt it will happen. Bailie saw one of her sisters a month after she had been living with us and they had zero interest in each other. So odd! Mom was expecting them to be all excited, but nothing at all!
What a Doodle*tastic birthday pawty Bailie!!! Emma those treats you made are incredible. Happy Birthday Bailie. Can’t wait to see more photos
We had a really great day on her birthday. She was worn out and actually went to bed early, but it was a good tired.
Oh geez – I like the ice cream cone, the pizza, squirrel, steak and dog LOL some are sold out – – happy birthday cutie!!
I know, it is hard to choose just one, but with several sold out, it helps to narrow it down.
I’m a little late, but happy birthday! Looks like you had some pretty awesome treats to celebrate with! Those pupcakes look incredible – nicely done!
Thank you. We are celebrating for the whole week.
I’m late but I hope Bailie had a wonderful Birthday!! I think we’d take the skull and crossbone!
Late is no problem, she is still in celebration mode. Good luck on winning the toy!
Happy first Barkday Bailee!
Hugs,
Pepper
She really enjoyed her birthday week and has adjusted really well to being one.
