I’m joining my pal Oz from Oz the Terrier who is hosting the #FuelTheCure blog hop, contest, and fundraiser with Zuke’s, makers of awesome dog snacks, to raise money for the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund. Zukes is donating $5 to the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund for every blogger that enters this bloghop!
All we are asked to do is to write a short post and include a photo of me loving life, one of life’s moments. Easy peasy really!
Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow is a mystery,
Today is a gift, that’s why it is called the present!
When life gives you a lake, walk around it, enjoy it, take it all in!
Mom lost her first dog Trine to pancreatic cancer in October 2003. It was a fast moving cancer and there was no cure, nothing to do for her. Just one week after being diagnosed she was gone at the age of ten. It still brings tears to Mom’s eyes. The lake where the photo of my sisters and I was taken is right behind the last home Trine lived in America. Trine moved to Germany at the age of five. She walked around this lake with Mom many times, swam in it, fetched tennis balls in it, so it is very appropriate for a post to raise money for cancer. Trine had a lot of wonderful life’s moments here. We always think of Trine by being at this lake because Mom tells us stories about her when we walk there.
Today is the last day to join this bloghop. It is not to late to help raise money to fight cancer in dogs and cats! A big apaws to Oz and Zukes!
What a beautiful girl trine was. Thanks for sharing her lovely story with us I know it still hurts and she holds a special place in your moms heart. Keep loving life girls.
We do our best to keep up the fun. GBGV’s are great dogs because we are always happy no matter what, it keeps Mom going sometimes.
This is a perfect post for this hop, Emma. The photo of you three happy girls is beautiful, but knowing the story behind the lake makes it even more special. Trine was a beauty as well, it’s so sad that cancer took her the way it did. It sounds like your Mom has a lot of special memories of her to share with you though.
Thank you. It is a special place for us to walk.
Oh Emma, Trine was such a beautiful girl. I am so sorry your mom lost her to cancer; cancer takes so many before their time. I think it is great that you all remember Trine when you visit the lake! Thank you for joining in to support such a great cause. Have a terrierific weekend.
Oz
You are an awesome dog for holding this hop and getting the support going!
Trine was beautiful. I know how it hurts to lose a dog to this disease and glad to join the Hop.
Thank you. Katie spent a little over a year with Trine, I never knew her, but I hear about her all the time. I think she may have been a dog saint they way Mom and Katie go on and on about her.
she was a beautiful girl……it never gets any easier – to lose them but memories never die.
It will never be easy and that is probably a good thing. Keeping the memories alive is most important.
That was such a nice post about Trine. We are sure happy Oz and Zukes are taking on this battle.
Our last kitty died of cancer three years ago, but since it is a dog blog, I went with Trine. It is terrible no matter what creature you are.
I LOVE your quote….Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow is a mystery,
Today is a gift, that’s why it is called the present!

So sorry mom lost her first dog to cancer 🙁
I have lost family members to cancer, but have not yet experienced it with my pets.
Thank you for taking part in Fuel The Cure today.
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
It’s a simple action for a super important cause!
That’s so sad that your mom lost Trine. It’s the worst to be helpless and when there is nothing what we can do. Every day is a gift, I agree and it’s not only a common gift like perfume or a bone it’s a special gift and very unique :o) Thanks for a great post!
Thank you. We need to remember to live every day to the fullest!
What a beautiful lake to spend time loving life. Trine was magnificent and I’m sure a wonderful friend. Speaking of lakes, I hope that you aren’t in one of the flooded areas. I think about you every time I see it on the news. ♥♥♥♥
There is a lot of flooding not far from here, but we don’t live close enough to any water that is causing floods. It is pretty bad in many areas, though.
Trine was beautiful. It is so hard to lose a furry friend and to lose them to cancer is even worse. Mommy had a beautiful yellow Lab named Summer that she lost to liver cancer. Mommy still gets sad when she thinks about Summer, just like when your mommy thinks about her Trine!
It is good to know they will never forget us, but it is also sad.
We are all here for a specific length of time. It’s hard sometimes, but the human tries to be thankful for the time that we have.
This is true. Anything can happen to anyone at any time, but we try to not think of that and just enjoy life every day.
What a beautiful photo and tribute to Trine. All you can do is enjoy the time you have, no matter how long or short it may be.
That is exactly right.
Trine was beautiful.
From the photos I’ve seen and what Katie has told me, she was a gorgeous black dog.
