The Fourth of July is just a couple days away, do you have something festive and fun for your pup to eat? With the birthdays in June, we had a lot of ice cream, so I wanted to make something fun and festive that would also be refreshing but not ice cream. I decided to make Patriotic Jigglers.
These are so easy to make, are healthy, low calorie, and red, white, and blue! You can use any fruit that is red and blue, I chose blueberries and raspberries. For the white, I decided on pure coconut water mixed with water to add some flavor but keep the gelatin clear for the white. Make sure and have your mom help you out with this recipe as it deals with boiling water and you wouldn’t want to burn your paws!
Patriotic jigglers are super easy to make, but I do have a huge hint. Make sure and leave the gelatin in the molds until it is completely set. My dear mom wanted to see if the jigglers were set and flipped over the mold and they all fell out. Unfortunately, they were only about 3/4 set, so instead of nice stars, we got round piles and had no time to redo the recipe for this post. Next we took them outside into the heat which really killed them.Β Please excuse the look, but I can tell you for sure, they taste awesome! We will get some decent ones together for the actual holiday.
If you would like to download this recipe, click here for the PDF. If you are looking for some patriotic dog ice cream bone treats, check out my post from last year. They were awesome and looked awesome too!

Emma, you are so pawsome when you cook! You have all the right stuff for each holiday. Your recipe sounds yummy. The mom says I am still too young to cook, and right now my cone would get in the way, I do have on a red, white, and blue t-shirt to keep my brother and sisters from licking my stitches. Happy July! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Yikes, that would be terrible if your siblings licked your stitches! Hope you get that cone off soon, I can’t imagine wearing one!
They sound yummy. Blueberries are my favorite. Who cares about the shape!
True. They end up in a pile in our tummies anyway, and the main thing is that they taste great!
Your are a excellent cook and I love them, great job! Have a great 4th.
Thanks! Sometimes things don’t turn out the way we wanted, but they taste great.
Oh Emma…we haven’t had jigglers in a while. They are usually so fun! How unfortunate that your mom pulled them out before they were set. They do look a bit like a pile of goo with fruit…but I bet they still tasted good. BOL

We were a bit pressed for time and Mom got impatient, we rarely have disasters, so I figured I would post the blobs instead of the stars. They taste great and that is what matters.
It’s usually the dogs that are in a hurry for the treats…this time it was mom! They look good even so.
They are tasty and that is the most important! Mom just has too much going on lately and didn’t want to wait any longer.
We think taste is more important than appearance anyway! We humans do get impatient sometimes, and it doesn’t usually pay off. I didn’t even know dogs could eat jello, never really thought of it….these sound great and healthy.
We use Knox unflavored gelatin as it doesn’t have all that stuff in it like “Jello” does. It is low cal too.
Looks tasty and patriotic, the rest is just details. I’m sure the pups don’t mind the shape when they’re scarfing them down.
We did not mind at all when asked to test them out!
They look DELISH! Just be careful using Coconut water for humans. Happy Tasty Tuesday. Golden Woofs
We chose one that is all natural with only the coconut water and just a small amount mainly for flavor
You always have the most creative and fun ideas sweet Emma!
Thanks π
Great holiday treat.
Tasty too!
These look tasty and I’m sure no one minded if they weren’t perfect stars. They sound refreshing and I can’t wait to try these out!
We love them! Just make sure and leave them in the refrig until they are set.
Emma, you are the best cook in Blogville π xxoxxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
Thank you, but it was a bit frustrating when Mom ruined my masterpiece. Oh well, it tastes the same!
We just bought some bone shaped treat pans so Mom can make us some yummy treats! Your recipe sounds delicious! β₯
Try the recipe I had last year on the fourth, I made them in bone molds. Have fun…hope to hear about it and see pics!
Emma, your gigglers look so tempting! Mom got us some molds, but so far she only used them twice. Maye she will use then more now.

Having fun molds makes it more fun to make treats. Summer is the best time to make treats because it is so easy to make frozen stuff and it all looks so good when it pops out of the molds. All you really need is some non fat yogurt, fresh fruit and maybe a bit of real maple syrup or honey, mix, freeze and yummy in the tummy time!
Great idea! Gelatin is so good for dogs (and humans too)-hair, skin, connective tissue, joints, etc.
Just leave it in the refrig until it is set π
Those sound very tasty, Emma, and quite refreshing. It’s not even going to be that hot here for us for the Fourth of July, so we could really enjoy these. I think we might even have everything we need on paw except the gelatin, so I’m going to work on getting Mom to pick some up!
Bunny
It isn’t going to be too hot here either, thankfully! Hope you enjoy them. We really like them.
I’ve never known dogs who like jiggly food. You and your sisters certainly have unusual tastes.
I think I’ll look up the ice cream bone recipe for Honey. It sounds more her style. π
Interesting, we never thought twice about jiggling, but these do jiggle nicely and we love them.
They look very patriotic and sound yummy. π
Thank you, yes to both points.
I like the name… π but is it hard to pick up for you? Them being all jiggly π
No problems because when the gelatin is set, it jiggles but it firm enough to pick up. We have had no trouble eating them.
Yummm, hope you enjoyed them! Happy 4th! π
I made a lot of them, so we can enjoy them for a few days straight. Happy 4th of July!
How cool!!! Thanks for sharing! And your photos are adorable as always π
We just celebrated our Canada Day, and I wish you a happy 4th of July!!

We heard it was Canada Day…the noise came over our northern boarder with the wind π Enjoy!
And I always assumed you’d be the eager one in the kitchen!
Eager to test, yes, but Mom needs to get my stuff done properly for my photos. I have to look good you know!
What a fun DIY project to do with your dog this weekend! Thanks for sharing.
