The other day, my friend in the big brown truck stopped by and left me a box. I wasn’t expecting a package, so it was a fun surprise. The important wording on the box for me was Merrick and Dog Treats!
I opened the package and was amazed by what I found! There were four bags of treats – Merrick Kitchen Bites, Merrick Power Bites, Merrick Dental Chews, and Merrick Jerky Chip Treats. As you can see, I was real proud to have this box in my paws!
You humans think these closed bags don’t smell, but a scent hound like myself can smell the goodness right through the packaging! It was clear to me that they all smelled wonderful, but I wanted to try out the Jerky Chip Treats first.
My box also had a flash drive which I figure I will give to my mom, and some napkins, bags, tongs, and info booklets. I was thinking about bringing some treats to my neighbor dogs, but then I decided against that. We have cousin Lena staying with us, making four of us and we are not small dogs, so we can easily eat these treats on our own. I thought the best thing would be to hold a short lecture for my fellow dogs as to why Merrick is so tasty and healthy.
I told Katie, Bailie, and Lena they could each have their own treat bag assortment if they attended my lecture and paid close attention. Some of my top points were:
- Merrick treats are made in the USA
- They are all natural
- Grain and gluten free
- No sorbic acid, corn, soy, or wheat
- No artificial coloring, preservatives, or sodium copper chlorophylin
- The treats are irresistable
The three of them did each get their own pamphlet about the treats, and they did pretty well paying attention to me.
After class, they got their treats and we all did some serious tasting work! Katie sure likes the Power Bites, I love the Jerky Chip Treats, but all four of us really loved all four varieties.
What constitutes mischief here? Well, sneaky Bailie wasn’t satisfied with the bag of treats I gave her. When I was busy with my lesson plan, she managed to sneak in and eat some of the Jerky Chip Treats right out of the bag! Luckily I heard the rustle of the bag and was able to get her away before she ate them all!
A big apaws to Merrick! Your company rocks with us dogs! Thank you for a swell surprise!

I am joining the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies.
What a great professor you make Emma! Everyone is paying attention so well! And you gave out treats at the end! I would definitely listen to a lecture like that. Gotta keep an eye on those treat bags, though. Some students can be sneaky 🙂
Food is an easy subject to teach dogs. We are always interested 😉
Excellent tuition there Emma – you make a great teacher. What a wonderful box of goodies and we bet they tasted wonderful.
They are so good. I hate to share any of them, but I am sharing.
Nice one Emma and that sure looked like a great box of goodies. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
It was a super surprise.
Emma, whan awesome box of treats. I’ve also impressed at how well you handled the treats. Our three pups (age 17 months old) would have had the box and treats torn to pieces in a few seconds.
Thank you. We learn pretty early on to be patient with treats. Of course, if the box was left unattended, it would be a different story.
Wow, that was some box of goodies!! We think you make a great teacher!!!
I know, can you believe it! Merrick is a pawsome company with pawsome products.
What a fun day at class with yummy treats!
Students will do almost anything for treats.
Good job Emma ! I would like to be in your class!
Sometimes I get carried away howling about things, but usually, I hold a pretty good class lecture 😉
Hey Emma, we loved this post! You look great as a teacher. Hey, do you know if Merrick has chicken in it? I can’t eat chicken. We are always looking for yummy treats without chicken! Have a great day. Your doodle friend, Dash
Thanks for the lesson Emma – we always love learning about treats. I think Bailie had the right idea though….did she get detention?
No, I just chased her away and wrestled her down.
That’s the best kind of surprise, ever. They look super yummy.
You got that right!
Wonderful blog post, Emma! I love the pictures when you teach. 🙂 I bet you’re good friends with the delivery truck drivers. My doggies think delivery trucks are fire-breathing dragons, and they do their best to protect the house from trucks. lol!
We love to see the delivery guys show up at our place! Usually the stuff is for me, so I would never try to chase them away!
Bailie stealing extra treats? I’m shocked I tell you, absolutely shocked…
I know, such a well mannered girl. I was appalled myself!
Great review! Many thanks Emma! I’m glad I have just plush-students, when they do mischief, I can eat them :o)
I have had a plush reading group, but always live students 😉
It’s best when you least expect it

I know. It really made our dog day!
That all looks so pawesomely yumyumwumwumwum!
And they are yumyumyum!
Meowm just started feeding us some Merrick dry cat food. We like it and now we have to talk her into getting us some of their wet food!
I have just dog food, but it is mighty tasty, and we love the names of their foods, so fun!
I bought a big bag of Merrick’s dry food for my dog Ace last month. I like to always have dry food on hand, and because you had recommended the brand I knew it was one I could trust. We haven’t tried their treats yet.
We are all in the process of switching to Merrick food, but the treats have passed the test with flying colors and that was a few months ago.
Wow what an incredible post, surprise and to think, no strings attached! ? They should hire you!! Loved the “lecture” photo BOL!!
I could work for food and treats! Would love to work for such a fun company.
Those treats sure look yummy!
They are all tasty, and a nice variety too!
Oh, YUM! I wish I lived in your house. We fortunately get to try new stuff in out Bark Box. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
I bet you enjoy your bark box! We tested one, but don’t subscribe.
We received that surprise package too! I can’t wait to dig into the treats. My mom put them away until I finish my current bag of treats! I don’t think she understands I can happily have several bags open at one time! You look like a great teacher. You should make Bailie write lines for sneaking treats!
We always have a few bags open around here because we get different sized snacks here and there during the day, Mom likes us to have variety, and there are three of us…four right now with Lena 🙂 You will love yours!
YUMMY! Great review Emma! I know you will enjoy.
We are definitely enjoying all four bags!
Emma, you are THE Professor of Yum!
I should have barked with you before writing. I could have named the post a lesson from professor yum. I will save that for later 😉
What an amazing box!!!
It sure is! We are so happy!
Great post!!! Love your photos! And you sure got one big box of goodies too!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Lately, it is like Christmas or my birthday here, but it is neither! I’m a lucky dog!
We thin Merrick is a truly pawesome company – they make top-notch food and treats!
My mom, sisters, and I fully agree!
Emma – Harley would be the first one to tell you that closed bags are the best! Thanks for turning us on to Merrick – big hit in Doodleville.
I thank the Merrick campaign we did in May for introducing us. We just love their products and they are such a fun company too!
YAY Ruckus received a box too! Exciting 🙂
Pawsome! It sounds like lots of my friends got a box – party!
We received this awesome surprise pack too! We love Merrick (the dogs are on their food now and the cats get their canned food), so I also thought I might write a post about this, but I hadn’t thought of an “angle” yet….I love your angle, doing the lecture for the other dogs, very creative!
Thank you. We know it wasn’t asked of us, but we were so thrilled by their kindness and we had the idea, so we did it. My sisters and I are switching to their dog food, but not the cats, and of course, we have lots of their treats in our treat drawer! Enjoy!
What a fab box of goodies
It is amazing and especially since we love them and were not expecting them.
Those are the cutest pictures I’ve seen all day! Merrick seems like such a pawsome company.
Thank you 😉 It must be the dog you find so cute, LOL! Merrick makes wonderful products and they have a great sense of fun, which fits our family perfectly.
I would have eaten out of the bags too LOL. 😀
Bailie has the same manners as my cat bro Bert…NONE! That’s okay, dogs don’t really mind.
What a pawsome package to receive! Anything Jerky must be good 🙂
Oh yeah, jerky is a great word!
That was very nice of them 🙂
Merrick really is a fun and friendly company to work with.
Enjoy your treats!
Thank you, we will for sure!
Emma, with your nose, I bet you smelled them as soon as the big brown truck pulled up. 🙂
Actually, I smell the brown truck when it is down the street! In the summer, that dude could use a shower – LOL!
Been hearing lots of good things about this brand. Definitely going to look for it! Cute pics. Rita would like to sign up for that class! 🙂
We noticed recently that PetCo is not carrying it. It seems like it used to only be in fancier pet supply stores. We love the company and their products.
OMD what a pawsome idea to have a treat seminar while your cousin is visiting! It looks like she really learned some great stuff there. I was also pleasantly surprised to get one of these boxes because I was not expecting it!
We didn’t expect it either, love surprises! Lena doesn’t get much at home in the way of treats, so that is one thing she loves about staying with us.
Wow! That’s some big box with delicious treats! Lucky you!
I know! It was an awesome surprise for me and we are all enjoying it!
Bailie needs a bit extra she is a growing pup. 🙂 Lucky doggies getting a big box of goodies.
She is starting to fill out now, maybe too many treats, or too many of my treats 😉
Ohhh we’ve tried the PowerBites and Riley found them to be very, very tasty! So lucky to get a big box 🙂
Katie really loves them, but we all enjoy them. Nothing bad in that box!
That’s a great picture of your lecture, Emma!
I was guessing that Bailie got up to some mischief!
Of course! She still has lots of puppy in her!
That’s a real nice thing for Merrick to do and I’m glad you caught Bailie before she finished off the bag. Do you think she might be somehow related to Delilah?
Such a nice big box!! But why do you guys have to attend lessons before you eat?? I say break out the food and party NOW. 😛
Since they sent me a lot of information about the products, I thought I should spread the word to a few dogs at least.
