Cat and Dog Pair Giveaway Foiled!

Mom asked me what I wanted to giveaway on my blog to celebrate my eighth birthday this week. I though about it for quite a while, and decided a cat and dog giveaway would be wonderful! I figured I better not tell Mom as she may not like my idea, so I decided to keep it secret.

To fill you in, I chose the cat and dog giveaway because cat bro Bert and dog sis Bailie can be a pain in my fur sometimes. I figured I could offer them as a giveaway to some nice reader and we would all live happily ever after. Bert is always in trouble! He not only steals my stuff, he steals food from Mom right out of the kitchen! I think Mom would be glad to have him out of the house.

Bailie arrived last year on my birthday, so I thought she could leave this year. She can be fun, but let’s face it, she gets into a lot of trouble. Mom should understand as she wanted her mom to return her baby brother too at one point when she was a little girl. Bailie and Bert have a lot in common, which is why I wanted to give them away as a set.

I went down to the basement to find a box for shipping. Mom has a ton of boxes to choose from, so I dug around for a bit.

Aha! I think I found just the right box for the two of them!

I brought it upstairs and folded it together. I thought I better write fragile on the outside. For their travels I’m going to put a blanket in the bottom and give them what I have left of my Zukes Mini’s Wabbit flavor. Bert eats dog treats no problem.

When I had it all set up I put the two of the in the box to make sure they fit and they do. Bailie will need to duck her head when I close the lid, but I think they will be just fine. I can always send them overnight shipping.

Things were all in place, but Bailie got all upset when she found out she had to move out and went crying to Mom telling her my whole plan. Mom told me I was terrible for thinking of doing such a thing. She reminded me of all the fun I have with Bailie playing chase and wrestle, hunting critters, etc, and I even have fun with Bert sometimes. I guess she is right. I would miss them and I do love them. My cat and dog giveaway has been officially foiled and cancelled. I also apologized to Bailie and to Bert for my bad idea. Sometimes I guess I think too much about myself. Luckily, I have my other great giveaways Mom and I set up together…you have to wait for Thursday to find out what they are!

As for me today, NO mischief. I will be sitting like this in the back of the car most of the day waiting for my turn, then waiting for results. Today is my Nose Work 1 trial. My second birthday wish is to pass the trial. It all hangs on teamwork with Mom, so wish me luck!
