This year for my birthday, I wanted bacon, so I got bacon! Being as it is my birthday, Mom does the kitchen work, I just supervise. This year is a bit different, though, in that Bailie actually stepped in and helped her out a bit.
We started with Fruity Bacon Ice Cream. I’m drooling just thinking about it. Remember, on a birthday, health food goes out the window! Bacon, Maple syrup, yogurt and fruity baby food blended together and frozen in my bone molds.
I couldn’t resist! I had to sneak in and have a taste of the ice cream. It smells so good!
To go with the ice cream every dog needs some cake, so I chose Beefy Bacon Pawcakes.
Bailie helped Mom with baking the pawcakes. She has turned into a fine little kitchen helper after learning from the best, me π
She was quite taken with the bacon. I guess we can call ourselves lucky that she didn’t eat all of it. Mom still needs to keep a close eye on her in the kitchen.
As every good chef knows, it is always important to give the batter a taste before you bake it. The pawcake batter met with Bailie’s approval, no problem.
Both the cake and ice cream are real simple and quick to make. After the pawcakes cool off, you can plate them up with an ice cream bone and serve! I elected not to frost the cake as it wasn’t really necessary, but you could if you wanted to. See if we enjoyed them or not on my birthday, on Thursday!

Had to top the wabbit cake and ice cream from last year!
That looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing your recipe and wishing you a wonderful and very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Thank you! So far birthday week is going pretty well.
Great job. We are drooling all over the keyboard as we type. YUMMY! Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
You may need to invest in a plastic keyboard protector!
Mmmmmmmmm B-B-B-B-BACON!!! ice cream and pancakes look so yummy. I would have eaten everything at the ingredient stage. The mom says I cannot be trusted. That stings! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Bailie has a hard time waiting too, but she is learning.
BACON! Who doesn’t love bacon, Emma. Oh my…those recipes sound delicious! Ma made a first attempt at making me a homemade treat for my birthday but she chickened-out since she is not a great baker and just made something super simple. It’s from my new canine cookbook…and there’s lots of great baking recipes in there. I think I need to send Ma over to you so you can teach her a few things and build up her baking confidence! Enjoy!
Oz
You could make these easy peasy yourself. I like to stick with pretty simple stuff. I should send you one since it is your birthday too!
You had us at bacon! Barking good recipes!
I thought bacon might draw some attention!
Those look delicious!
Bacon is always good.
Wow – all I got was a store bought cake…I’m coming to your house for my next Gotcha Day celebration!
Mom loves to be in the kitchen, and since it is just her, she can’t bake much which means she bakes for us. Yummy!
Emma, there isn’t doggy on the internet who is as good of a baker as you are! YOU ARE THE BEST!! These sound nommy and your photos are superb (as always!)
Thank you. Little Bailie is starting to get the hang of helping out.
Emma, I think you are ready for your very own cooking show. Harley is going to write a letter on your behalf to the Food Network Channel. Those treats look fabulous, what a wonderful birthday you’re having this week. Bravo again…
I would love a dog cooking show, but I don’t have any fur cook contacts in Hollywood!
Bacon, bacon, bacon. What’s not to love!
Exactly!

Bacon, sniff, sniff, bacon!
Wow! Bonnie saw my computer monitor when I was reading this, and now she says she wants to go stay at your B&B, because nothing I make for her looks that good. Did you get a taste, or do you have to wait until your birthday?
We actually had my party early because this week is way too busy, not enough time for a party.
Hope you got to taste test them as an early birthday present – Thursday is forever away when it comes to treats.
Birthdays are always so hard to wait for.
What a delicious looking recipe. Who doesn’t love bacon? – Petnet(io)
I guess a vegetarian may not, but I am definitely not a vegetarian dog!
Omigoodness, Emma! You got some amazing treats for your birthday! I’m with Slim Doggy on this one. Coming to your house to pawty!
Come on over…bacon for everyone!
Emma you have me drooling and I’m only a human! I wouldn’t even let Chablis read this post. He would be all over me to make some right NOW. I thank you for the recipes!
Make him some ice cream at least…super easy and tasty!
You are the best Birthday Chef ever Emma!
Cat bro Bert did try to steal stuff while Mom and Bailie were baking. He had to be locked up.
We’re going to guess that you DID enjoy them, Emma, because they look pretty yummy!! Bailie seems to be doing pretty well in the kitchen, other than not keeping her tongue out of the batter!
Emma! I hope you are having an awesome birthday week! It looks like you are! Those pupcakes look yummy!
Thank you. I’m having a great time so far!
Looks tasty!
Let me ask you this…did you ever have bad bacon??? π
OMD! That sounds incredible. I am sure that you must have loved them. It’s always nice to see the younger ones try to follow in our paws prints. β₯ XXOO Bentley
