On my birthday morning last week we got to take my favorite morning walk, and then in the afternoon, Mom surprised me with a trip to Jensen Lake for a walk, and some balancing practice! Katie stayed home as it would be too difficult for her, so only Bailie and I went with Mom.
We love it there so much, we usually take off down the trail as if we were shot out of a cannon! Mom lets us race since we rarely see anyone there during the day, but on this day she wanted to do some photo shoots with us and thought we could do some balancing work to slow us down a bit. There are lots of rocks and downed trees to get up and balance on.
This was my big mischief. Mom wanted me to sit down on this tree, but I hopped up and wanted to walk out to the end. Mom had a fit as she was afraid I might fall or not be able to get turned around to get back to her. I did stop right after this photo and was able to turn around and get down.
And…up pops little Bailie…she wants to be in a photo too!
I’m thinking about doing a movie and calling it “Emma the Jungle Dog”. Do you think it would be a hit?
How about two dogs on logs? We were having a good time!
Sometimes a girl just needs to take a break and hang out on a tree stump.
Bailie decided to sit on a bench and look out at the lily pads for a short break.
The walk was coming to an end. We were super happy, got some good aerobic and core fitness in, as well as some photos, and we had a ton of fun! Jensen Lake is a spot we only get to visit a couple times a year, so when we go we always have a blast because it is something special we love!
I am joining the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies.
what an excellent park walk and your balancing on rocks and logs is to be commended. Those are some awesome photos and you two look so cute 🙂
Thank you. We love to go there even if Mom makes us do some balancing.
Emma and Bailie…you both rock! I knew that the trees could not stump you! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Wowzers! Someone is on a creativity roll 😉
😉 Glad you enjoy my sense of humor. The mom made me do it. Sparkle
🙂
What a pretty place and your mom go some beautiful pictures. You sure got a wonderful birthday treat!
Walked my paws right off on my birthday, but loved it.
Looks like great fun, and you got some fab photos!!!
Thank you. We always have fun there…well except the time when we got on the horse trail and Katie wouldn’t stop eating horse poop. Mom did not have fun that time.
But I bet Katie did BOL
Looks like a fun place and great pix. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Thanks Molly!
What a great birthday present and beautiful pictures!
And as an added gift, you are back in my comment stream, which means you are getting posts 🙂 The other person having issues that I know of is also using AOL, so it has to be something there.
Harley is a balancer too Emma, he fell asleep last week balancing his head on a stick! BOL
I saw that pic on fb I think. He is one funny fellow!
What a cool place! You two are great balancers, we’re going to have to try that next time we are out on a hike!
It is something different to do that keeps us from just racing full speed the entire walk.
How cool you got to be off leash at such a fun place! Love the photos. Love Dolly
Oh heavens no! Off leash and hounds is not going to happen! Mom just hides the leashes because she doesn’t like them in the photos. But even though we are on leash, we are not being held onto or tied down while posing, so there is some discipline going on 😉
Awesome photos! You are so good at posing for your mom. =)
Bailie and I both love the camera and think it is fun.
Looks like a really fun park. And tree climbing, awesome!
It was my first tree climb ever!
you two have some really great balancing skills and that park looks like lots of fun!
Not as good as a cat, but we are working on it.
You lucky dogs!! What a great day. Our mom has a fit too when we go out too far or too high. These moms… yeesh.. Love your doodle friend, Dash
Moms can be big worriers, but they only want the best for us.
Not only is that a beautiful place but you can do agility
Lily & Edward
Bailie was asked to do agility, but we are sticking with using our noses.
a movie? of course, it would be a blockbuster! I would sit in the first row and I would give you 87 academy awards!
Awesome! Now I need to find a producer!
Looks like your two had a blast! I would totally go to see “Emma The Jungle Dog” at the movies and think it would be a big hit…although we’d probably wait for the DVD so Daisy could watch it, too! Happy Monday and have a GREAT week!
I would request a Hollywood premier with dogs allowed!
They were worth sniffing
Lily & Edward
Hi Y’all!
For a minute there I thought I was watching “fit dog Friday”.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
I know, it was kind of that type of post, but I have other things scheduled for Fridays right now, so I put it under mischief 😉
Great photo shoot!
Thank you, we had some good fun!
The Adventure Sisters look ready to host their own wilderness show for sure.
A wilderness reality show maybe. We could sniff out berries in the forest with the bears!
Good thing neither of you got stuck! I don’t think your mom would like having to call the fire department to rescue you. Do they even come out for dogs?
I think Mom would have saved me, but she would have been a muddy wet mess, and not real happy 😉
EMMA… we have always heard about “GOING OUT ON A LIMB” butt girrrrrrl you really DID DO IT.. Glad you got back safely.
Geez, that would have made a good post title! I did it and I survived!
Aww!! Beautiful photos looks like the perfect way to spend a birthday!
Hugs, Carrie and Pups x
It was great fun!
OMD! You look so beautiful in your pictures Sweetie. ♥ I want my mom to print them out, so I can put them in a frame. She said that she would have freaked out if I walked on a downed tree too! BOL ☺ XXOO Your Basset, Bentley
I’m not really a ballerina type, so it was nerve wracking for Mom, but I did get down safely and continued on with the fun.
Wow, you girls did great, balancing on so many different things! What a fun way to spend your birthday playing at the lake on the trails. I can see why your Mom got nervous when you headed out on that one tree though…glad you made it back OK! 🙂
That was totally unplanned and I just started going. She was glad it was me and not Bailie as who knows where Bailie would have ended up!
I agree, it looks like a wonderful place, and great exercise!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
We were wiped out after that fun walk!
Wow!! You get a PERFECT TEN!
Maybe I should become a gymnast…or maybe not…
Whole done Emma…balancing is good for the abs!
It was a fun way to workout without feeling like having a workout.
It looks like a good place to visit, Emma! I’m glad you got to go there on your birthday. You and Bailie are adorable doing your balancing acts. I especially love the two dogs on a log!
Thanks. Sometimes we are two peas in a pod…or on a log.
LOL Emma the Jungle Dog sounds like it would be a cute flick. 🙂
I think it would be a hit…know any good producers???
A fun walk AND a great workout – sounds perfect! And I’d totally want to see the Jungle Dog movie! 🙂
I think it would be a box office hit, I just need a producer!
Hey Emma
You guys are starting to look so similar I’m starting to get you mixed up!!
Great mischief on the tree branch! Tee Hee
I hope you’re having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
We are quite similar, but also very different. If you saw us in the fur it would be obvious who is who 😉
Looks like fun!
We had a great time!
Such great photos! What an adventure climbing out on that log! It looks like you two had a great time exploring through the woods- lots of great smells!
We had a great time, but we always do when we get to go there.
What a beautiful spot!
We sure love it there!
those are some super fun photos, glad you all were safe.
I kind of went out on a limb, but no danger.
What a lot of fun!!
We just love to go walking there!
