My sisters and I were up at 5am on Saturday, ready to hear, “O´zapft is!“. 5am our time is noon Munich time which is when the mayor taps the keg and Oktoberfest 2014 officially begins.
Having lived in Germany, Katie and I know a lot about Oktoberfest and we were ready to party like animals! If you are a fan of mine, you know we love to have a good party at my place! We got a real early start, so by afternoon, things were getting a bit fuzzy at our Oktoberfest party!
Little Bailie was fascinated with the German trinkets we have, the garden gnome, the wachen Dachel, and the Kuck Kuck clock. She tried to get that Kuck Kuck bird and damaged the clock…grrr…
Katie had trouble sitting up, so she kind of fell into the corner with her Bowser Beer. She even gave up on using her fancy liter mug at that point and just drank from the bottle.
I enjoy drinking my Bowser Beer from my beer stein. Boy is it tasty stuff!
Since Bailie busted our Kuck Kuck clock, I thought I would repair it. I guess it was a bad idea to try after several Bowser Beers! I think I made the problem with the little bird even worse!
Bailie’s judgment was a bit clouded and she took off with a frog thinking he was some kind of prince. He seemed to be a real wild party frog and he even stole some of our Bowser Beer and Katie’s beer stein!
She got a whiff of his foot and almost passed right out! I guess he never wears shoes and they smell pretty bad.
Katie had had enough and crashed out. You may have seen this photo yesterday in black and white.
I crashed out myself eventually, dreaming of wabbit brats and more Bowser Beer.
Little Bailie really overdid it. This was her on Sunday morning trying to hide in bed. She said her head felt like squirrels were throwing down acorns on top of it and that is bad! Youngsters have to learn to take it a bit easy at Oktoberfest!
I am joining the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies.
OOM “PAW PAW!” OOM “PAW PAW!” You sure know how to party up there. I should have never left Minnesota. I break many things just like Bailie – it is so much fun! I am now able to steal off the kitchen counter if things are close to the edge. 😉 XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Awesome that you are learning to countersurf! You will be able to get so much good stuff!
Wow that was one heck of a pawty!!! Glad you didn’t drive 😉
No driving when we party! Walking is dangerous enough!
You gals had a great time. A little hair of the dog the next morning?
Living with a Kuvasz there is always hair from a dog, so it is a good excuse!
you 3 know how to celebrate in style….we sure hope no kissing of that frog was involved
No kissing the frog…yuck!
LOL well looks like you had fun at Oktoberfest!
The party animals in the neighborhood!
Oh, wow, Emma! You and your sisters look like you had a REALLY had a great time! We like Oktoberfest around our place, too. Big Boss travels on business trips to Munich, and likes to brew his own beer at home. Maybe I should put a little request in to make or buy some Bowser Beer! Yum! Bailie, sounds like you might’ve had a little too much fun, take it easy today. 😉
-Sadie
You do need to try out some Bowser Beer, it is real tasty stuff! We are all tired out and planning on a lot of napping today!
Just love this entire series. Especially love the one with the hat over Bailie’s head. It appears that a fun time was had by all?
Thank you. We know how to throw a good party!
Wow that was one heck of a party dudes. Hope you are all not feeling too jaded today. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Lots of napping on the calendar for today!
Sounds like a lot of fun…we’ve never had bowser beer – going to have to get some of that. Say, how come Oktoberfest starts in September?
You would love Bowser Beer, it comes in beef or chicken, so you would be okay. It started in mid October for a few days eons ago, but they wanted to extend it and the weather was better in September, so it gradually moved to mostly in September.
haha! You pups are adorable!!!! Don’t drink too much!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
I don’t think there is such a thing as too much Bowser Beer.
Looks like you guys had way too much fun! We’ve never had Bowser Beer either. It’s on sale at our pet store for 50% OFF and there is a $20 OFF coupon code that you can use, so mommy thinks she will go over and buy us some! Yippee!
You will lap it up, trust me! It is good stuff for special occasions.
You girls know how to party! Emily has nixed the idea of me ever buying lederhosen.
That is a bummer, Lederhosen are so cute! Maybe for Eko?
LOL…What fun! Poor Bailie though, hopefully next time she will take it easy.
You know those crazy teenage dogs! She will be fine.
What a pawrty!! Those big feets do look stinky
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
Frog feet…ewww…
Y’all always have the best time!
Party animal central!
Emma, your post today brought back so many memories. We lived in Neu Ulm for five years (that was before Harley) and your post, the mugs (which are in our kitchen cabinet) all brought back wonderful thoughts. We loved our time there and there was nothing like Oktoberfest!
Mom went to Neu Ulm many times and really loved their Weihnachtsmarkt! Maybe you can dust off those Biersteins and put in a nice German beer in memory!
OMD Wabbit Brats and Bowser Beers…. now this is how we GERMANS like to celebrate… RIGHT? Sorry about the minor Clock incident…
Well, stupid kuck kuck. What kind of a bird wants to live in a clock anyway??? Back to the important stuff – wabbit brats!
Love it! Though it looks like Bailie partied just a little too much 🙂
Teenagers, you know. She is still learning and discovering.
OMD how can you celebrate Oktoberfest without a Doxie!? You girls had way too much fun and are now paying the price for not inviting me! Love Dolly
You should have come over! We always have plenty for friends.
HA!!! That Bailie!! She is a party girl, isn’t she!! What a fun weekend. Happy Fest!
She is a crazy teenager!
That’s great! I love your way to celebrate, no smelly beer tents no drunken peeps … just some happy dogs… that’s perfect!
Good clean fun except for the dead kuck kuck.
BOL don’t celebrate to hard now!
My sisters and I, never 😉
Now that is one fantastic party! Take it easy on the Bowser beer, Ballie. The day after is never as much fun 😉
The day after is never a good day!
BOL! I love this guys. That is definitely some party you had there.
We were just missing your rats!
Oh, you wild and crazy girls! I guess you taught Bailie quite well how to party….a little TOO well I think. She needs to watch out for those frog party crashers…..they obviously can’t be trusted!
She is still young with a lot to learn!
OMD, those pics are hysterical! Hope the hangovers weren’t toooo bad!
We’ve been resting a lot today 😉
What a fun party you’re having, Emma!! 😀
We had a great time!
Wow! What a pawty! Loved this post! The pictures really made me smile. 🙂
Yay! We love bringing smiles and laughter 🙂
Haha
Did you guys get a little sizzled? You can tell Bailie’s a novice! 🙂
Glad you all had fun,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Bailie is pretty wet behind the ears, but she is learning.
Looks like y’all had fun!
We had a great time, but now back to regular dog life.
Wow! What a fun party! Too bad Bailie had to learn the hard way about too many beers. BOL! You girls really know how to throw a party! ♥
It’s probably a good thing we don’t live in your neck of the woods as Mardi Gras would be really wild!
You 3 really know how to pawty!!
One complete set of three party animals!
I’m thinking of heading to your place next October. It’s cheaper than Germany and looks like it’s a great party. 😉
We speak more English too, although we do have some German mixed in 😉 Guest room is ready, so book your reservation!
My dogs are confused because our calendar still says September, but since they’re GERMAN shepherds, we definitely need to start celebrating Oktoberfest.
Germans do make it confusing! Oktoberfest was originally just a couple days in October, but it moved earlier and got longer because they realized the weather was better in September. Schaeferhunde is what you have 🙂
Haha! You girls sure know how to live it up! Super jealous that you had so much fun! I think I need to get some of that Bowser Beer for Ace. He’s always trying to get a lick of my beer.
I’m sure he would love it!
Looks like you all had a lot of fun. What a great way to celebrate Oktoberfest. That Bowser Beer looks pretty good. 🙂
We had a great fest with lots of fun on a gorgeous weekend.
That’s a wild party! I hope Bailie’s head is feeling better now.
She’s young and bounces back quickly.
sweet dreams, party animals!
