I’m so excited to tell you about what My GBGV Life (yep, that’s me) and my friends at Cascadian Nomads have planned for this important week I just had to howl loudly! If you think my furry family is a bit crazy with three dogs and two cats, you have to visit Casadian Nomads, you will love them! They have three dogs a cat and a bird. The bird is always out with them on their adventures which is so neat to see. Mom, Bailie, and I met their Cockatoo named Leo Xavier in the feather along with their dogs in the fur at BlogPaws in Las Vegas last May.
Anyway, you know my sisters and I are real active and walk with Mom all the time. The Cascadian Nomad family is just like us, always out walking and having fun adventures which is why we are teaming up for National Walk Your Dog Week October 1st-7th. Walking your dog at least once a day is so beneficial for the dog and the human for so many reasons. Our goal is to get people out walking their dogs, at least during this celebratory week. We are offering two blog hops and prizes, but even better, if you aren’t a blogger, you can enter using social media as well!
There are two parts to our celebration:
- October 1st-7th will be the Walk Your Dog Week Blog Hop, Challenge and Giveaway. This blog hop will be for bloggers to share as many posts on walking tips as they want, challenging readers to walk their dogs everyday. Bloggers, readers and followers are invited to enter the random drawing giveaway through the PromoSimple widget (available October 1st.) Entrants will accept the Walk Your Dog Week Challenge and commit to walking their dog everyday through a blog post comment. They will then share an inspirational photo or video via blog post or social media during the wrap up using the #DogWalkingWeek hashtag. Old photos with the hashtag added cannot be accepted. Facebook shares must be on the wall of Cascadian Nomads or My GBGV Life. Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+ and/or Vine shares must use #DogWalkingWeek and tag Cascadian Nomads or My GBGV Life.
- October 9th- 12th Walk Your Dog Week Wrap-Up Blog Hop and #DogWalkingWeek social media share: How did National Walk Your Dog Week go? Did you walk your dog everyday? Share the highs and lows, live and learn, as well as how to continue walking your dog beyond Walk Your Dog Week via blog hop post or social media. The random prize winner drawn on October 13th will have to have shared a #DogWalkingWeek wrap-up photo or video in a blog post or on social media or the prize is forfeited and a new winner will be drawn.

Emma, is that a big mouth or a yawn? I will try to walk the mom. She does not do walking very well because of her back. I think I am getting a bath today as the mom says I stink! I go in the shower with her, and she has a bench to sit on while I get bathed. P-U! I do stink! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Bailie needs a bath, I got mine last week. Any walk is a good walk we think. 🙂
Wow, Emma, I think I heard that howl from here! Walk Your Dog Week is pretty exciting. And weather permitting, Leo might get to walk with the dogs and I some too! Thanks for hosting this fun event with us.
Thanks for the great idea! We are walk lovers and we love seeing that bird out and about!
We can’t wait! Except we’ve done all our dog walking tips already, mom is trying to think of an exciting new walk for us. Plus, she wishes you would have thought of her since we are all about dog walking! Love Dolly
Cascadian Nomads asked me just the other day. All you need is a nice walk 🙂
I don’t live in the U.S. but I will walk with you, the main thing is to have fun together :o)
Exactly, a great reason to just walk.
we will in for sure – it drives mom crazy that there NO sidewalks where we live so we can never take just a quick walk around the neighborhood (unless we want to risk walking on the roads which is something we don’t like doing because Arkansas has the WORST drivers in the whole USA) but we will certainly walk in one of MY many parks for you 🙂
You can walk wherever it works best. Busy roads with no sidewalks means no fun. It is like that at Gramma’s house.
Emma– mom wants to do this but we only have two followers on our blog. So maybe she is silly but we want the walks so we are supporting her!! Thanks for doing this. your doodle friends Dash and Lilly
You have to start somewhere. Enter your post on the blog hop and other bloggers will go to your blog 😉
OMC! Hopefully you won’t give ideas to my human! Apparently the little dog she presently lives with is scared of going outside.
Otherwise, it does look like a yawn in that first pic of you 😉
I do yawn loudly sometimes 😉 Silly kitties!
This sounds fun and is quite the challenge, and we love being challenged….it always gets us motivated! I don’t have to walk all three dogs every day, do I? Can it be one dog per day? 🙂
We were hoping you would do six…my sisters and I are on our way to your place, LOL! No really, just walking 1 or more is all it takes.
I did LOL at that one!! Thanks…..phew!!
Once Mom knew she was alright she laughed too!
Emma– mom wants to do this but we only have two followers on our blog. So maybe she is silly but we want the walks so we are supporting her!! Thanks for doing this. your doodle friends Dash and Lilly
Dakota just came back from a walk!
He will have to walk again starting Wednesday!
I hear that walking thing is very, very healthy and fun!
You better hurry up with your leash training, cats can walk too!
We hear ya loud and clear! I will make mom walk at least once a day! We love the Cascadian Nomads too. I think Leo is part bird and part dog…hey Leo is a birddog! BOL! BOL! XXOO Bentley
Love it, birddog! We think they are cool too! See you on the pavement in a couple days!
Sounds like fun, I luv my walks!
Walking is a great activity, and we love them too!
Great picture Emma! Maybe we can get mom to walk at least one of us!
I sure hope so, it is a fun way to challenge her to get out with you guys…at least one of you.
Nice one and of course we will walk with you from across the pond. Have a serene and easy Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
Maybe you can walk with my parents and siblings since they are still across the pond in the UK 😉
This is awesome! We’re so in! I can’t wait to see it all!
Yay! We are hoping it will be a really big fun event!
Such a great idea, I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. Can’t wait to participate and see everyone else doing the same. Our dogs will be most appreciative of this special week.
It will be great for dogs and their humans. Glad you will be joining!
This was such a great idea!!! I’ll be there!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Your husky dogs will love it for sure!
We will definitely walk Emma, walking is always a lot of fun. Mica already had a woods walk and Aspen had his first trail walk. But we will walk for fun not to win. Hope everyone has a great time 🙂
The most important thing is to just get out and walk. If people want to enter and win, that is an additional benefit, but our goal is to get everyone out walking their dogs.
We will be out walking and I plan to share some tips this week, but will also be out of town for the wrap up so unfortunately will not be able to participate. I can’t count on internet access, although I am going to try to post a photo or two while we are gone. 🙂 Best of luck to all who participate!
Bummer, but you can join the first hop with your tips at least. Hope you get internet access!
Emma Darling, we are “in” we’ve snagged the banner, it’s up in Doodleville, and we’ll be ready. Here’s one question, are we to blog every day? Or just our regular schedule?
You only have to do one post the 1st to the 7th about walking with a photo or video, or you can do more if you like, then a second post between the 9th and 12th with how your week went and another pic or video. 2 hops, one prize total. So happy you are joining!
That sounds like a great prize! I would love that Nike gift card! 🙂 This is a great way to encourage people to get out walking more with their dogs. Like your mom, I am always out walking with my dog, but I like to encourage others to do the same. So many behavioral problems could be eliminated if the dogs got adequate exercise. Heck, I think humans are better behaved when they get enough exercise too!
Mom is a bear if she doesn’t get her exercise, that much I know. Our only puzzle is Bailie that runs, walks, does nose work, tracking is dead tired but still shreds her bed when Mom goes away sometimes. Hopefully she will outgrow that phase. It only started a couple months ago. Nevertheless, we are such believers in exercise, it is so healthy and fun!
This is right up our alley! Our whole blog is about it! Woot! What fun!
With your blog title, it would actually be funny if it wasn’t about walking, but walking/exercise is a big part of our blog and what we believe in. Sadly, many dogs don’t get to go for walks and we want to help change that.
We’re doing lots of walks and are having lots of fun together!
That is good for all of you!
Hi! Is there another Linky List for the wrap-up posts through Oct 12?
