Hey everyone! Here I was on the weekend cruisin’ in Gramma’s convertible to the Galaxy Drive in! We had perfect weather and since it was the last weekend the Galaxy is open this year, we were off for a Galactic adventure. I went with Gramma once last summer too. You can see that post here.
I love riding in Gramma’s convertible, feeling the wind in my fur, and all the smells going by. It is important for dogs to protect their eyes from the wind, so I wear my doggles, and I always wear my seat belt.
We got there really fast as it is not far from Gramma’s house. She is so lucky to have the Galaxy Drive In close by! We pulled into our parking spot and the car hop girl came over to get our order. I popped my head up, still wearing my doggles. She took one look at me, smiled real big, and said…I quote, “That is the cutest thing I have ever seen!” It kind of made me blush under my fur, but then again I know I am pretty cute.
Mom and Gramma ordered and the car hop asked if it would be okay for me to have my free doggy ice cream cone. What? Are you kidding me? What dog would say “no” to that? Mom and I got out of the car to sniff around and take some photos. We were a bit away from the car, but that nice car hop raced my ice cream cone all the way out to me. You can see her running over to me in the photo by the arrow!
The car hop gave my cone to Mom who held it for me. It is nearly impossible for a dog to hold such a cone without making a real mess of the paws. I gobbled it right down! Boy was it good, especially on an 80 degree day!
They have a real cosmic menu, but I love how it says all over the place, four legged friends are welcome. This Galaxy Drive In is my kind of place! They even have numerous poop bag dispensers around the grounds in case a furry friend has an accident.
There are lots of fun things to do besides just eating. They have two smores fire pits, one is always burning. Humans can purchase a smores kit and make their own over the fire.
I tried my paws at chess too. This is a real silly game if you ask me. the point is to capture some piece I guess. Well, I captured the black one and refused to let it go!
These kids were playing chess too, but I think they had played a bit too long as they were super stiff!
That was the end of a fun adventure to the Galaxy Drive In with my cool Gramma in her pawsome wheels! Good bye Galaxy Drive In! See you again next summer, and thanks Gramma for letting me ride along!
PS: Afer that ice cream I took a nice walk back at Gramma’s place to work it off. Speaking of walking…have you heard about our National Walk Your Dog Week Celebration. If you havenβt heard about it yet, click on the link for all the info!
What a fun adventure. How have I never noticed before that you have the same color Doggles as Huxley?
Katie got those in Germany years ago when she had a convertible, but now I use them now and then. They work great!
This brought a huge smile to my face. Just loved the entire story, especially the first picture. I wish I could have been the here.
π Thank you. We had a blast and I was really worn out the next day from all the fun and excitement!
Mom says she remembers going to the drive in’s all the time when she was a young un – they were very popular in Australia. She also remembers the Drive in that was near where she lived in Woodbury Minnesota too
There aren’t too many left, but they sure are fun. This one is really fun, old style, and caters to dogs which makes it really a special place!
That was fun and nice one having an ice cream cone all to yourself. Have marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Mom said not to tell my sisters when I got back…it was my special outing.
Holy Moly! Can your Grandma bring me along, too? π We live in the area of that drive-in, too, but have never been there! We will have to check it out, since they appear to be so dog friendly! I’ll go tell my humans, stat! π Looks like you had a ball!
How cool! I guess you live near my Gramma too, then. It was the last day for 2014 yesterday, but you have to go again in the spring. It is super fun and they really do love dogs!
You are one lucky girl Emma to get to go to the drive-in in a convertible. I think I would love riding around like that. If you move to California, you can ride in it all year round!
It sure is fun I must say, and the food part only makes it better!
That is one awesome adventure! We love your goggles!!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I don’t mind wearing my doggles at all, but I told Mom it is high time she cleans the lenses so I can see better out of them.
This is one of my absolute favorites of all!! The Red Man wishes he had a Galaxy Drive In around here…LOVE the pictures today!! π
Awww…thank you! I love to go there, it is really fun and the convertible ride only adds to the fun.
That looks like an awesome drive in! Sure wish we had one of those!
Mom says it is the best drive in she knows of.
Way cool! I love your doggles, you are so stylish.
Thanks! They are important when I’m riding topless and it is always good to look stylish.
So much fun!!!! Love your goggles, you look pawsome!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thanks, it was a ton of fun and tasty fun too!
What a cool way to spend the day with your Gramma!
Gramma is great! She is one of my biggest fans.
Wow, you are so lucky, Emma! Not only a ride in a convertible, but what a cool place for a tasty treat!
It is a pawsome place to go with a pup!
The Galaxy seems like a pawsome place. You are so cute in your goggles! =D
Thanks, I love to go there.
I love drive-ins it always means ice cream! Looks like summer is hanging in there in Minnesota too. Mom hates it! Love Dolly
We don’t like the summer thing either, but lucky as of today, fall is back. Drive ins and ice cream are like cats and catnip – made for each other!
You look ready to blast-off in those doggles, a perfect fit for the intergalactic theme of the day. Summer weather is hanging on so we have to enjoy the last days while we can.
Yesterday was the end of it here. Today, we already had the high temp and the week is supposed to be pretty cool. That’s fine, we love the cooler temps!
Well look at you! You look like a movie star
Lily & Edward
LOL! I need a nice scarf to fit that bill!
Great shades!
Gotta have the doggles if you are in a convertible to protect your eyes from the wind!
that was really a galactic adventure. and I’m glad you wore doggles, you look so cool! and I bet no one was brave enough to compete with chessmaster Emma!
No one should take a chess piece from a dog…no one! π
Emma, you’re the coolest dog in the whole dog universe! Don’t tell Chewy I said that.
You should get him his own mini doggles…I bet he would look adorable in them!
Love your goggles Emma! <3 I have never heard of Galaxy before… it looks pretty much the same thing as Sonic Drive-In that we have down here. I have eaten there way more than I might have liked lol…
We have Sonic too, but the only thing they have in common would be the car hops. This is an original all decked out like the Jetsons and made to be a real family plus dog spot.
That sounds like so much fun! I love your sunglasses!! π My girls love ice cream, too!
Thank you. They were originally Katie’s doggles, but I get to wear them too!
We need to move to Minnesota, you have the coolest things to do there! Chicago does too! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
I think Chicago is much more dog friendly, but we find things to do here in MN too.
That looks like a wonderful place to get your paws on some ice cream. You are really rockin’ your Doggles. I gave your Walk Week a shout-out today on my newscast. β₯ XXOO Bentley
I have to paw my way over to your blog. It was a busy morning, so I’m a bit behind on my reading. Thanks for putting it in your news π
You fun adventures always amaze and bring along smiles Emma!
Yay! I don’t want my friends to ever say Emma is too serious or boring!
What a perfect way to end off the summer, Emma. That looks like such a fun place, and you certainly got the best service….they know a good customer when they see one!
No one has offered Mr. N ice cream but he did get offered fries once at a drive-through. I declined but I don’t know if he would eat them anyway!
The Galaxy is known for the free dog cone and they advertise it too. Really yummy!
I’m glad to hear they took such good care of you Emma!! And you’re right, who would turn down a free ice cream cone? Not this girl!
Never! It was so good. I ate it so fast it didn’t even have time to melt and make a mess.
That looks like a fun place! Barley’s charmed the girls at the drive-thru we go to after agility class and they always have a cookie waiting for her–but I bet she’d go crazy for an ice cream cone!
I wouldn’t mind a cookie either, but on a hot day, the ice cream was pawfect!
I love the seat belt but I really really love those doggles goggles! π
Gotta have both in a convertible!
Looks like a lotta fun!
Fun and good eating!
What did Katie and Bailie have to say when they smelled your ice cream breath? I bet they were mad at you. This post is so late because the mom left me all day and went soimewhere to swim with dolphins. I am mad at her! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Mom distracted them with a walk when we got back, so there wasn’t any big trouble.
Omd, too much fun! Rita is very jealous about the ice cream cone!
Any reasonable dog would be as it was so delicious!
That ice cream looks so yummy and the Galaxy Drive in looks like a far out place. π
It is “out of this world”!
Hope it was a fun movie! We have never been to a drive in, and Mom hasn’t been in way too many years to mention:(
This is just a food drive in. Sadly there are no drive in movies in the Twin Cities anymore. The last one closed 2-3 years ago. Maybe some day they will make a comeback?
I hope they do make a comeback, I really enjoyed being able to watch them from the car. Get out walk around, get some popcorn and drink and fall asleep on the back seat π
Hahaha! Galaxy adventures with Gramma are simply the best π
Grammas are simply the best…always lots of love and snacks when she is around.
That looks like such a fun place to visit!
Fun and tasty, especially fun if you arrive in style!
Cute set of photos… love the close ups with Emma in doggles best!
Thanks, I enjoy wearing my doggles!
