I spent most of the day yesterday adjusting the clocks…you know falling back an hour in the fall. The work is exhausting and ridiculous. Why is it ridiculous? Because in a few months we will be springing forward an hour and in a year, falling back again. I think I need to move to a state that doesn’t mess with time!
No matter, after falling back, there is nothing better than really enjoying that extra hour of snoozing! Hope everyone enjoyed their extra rest, I know I sure did!
Today IβmΒ joining the Black and White Sunday Blog Hop sponsored by Dachshund Nola and Sugar the Golden Retriever. Remember to stop by and visit some of the other blogs on the hop to meet new friends!
I agree with you, it’s ridiculous and exhausting ( and there is always one clock we forget and what leads to mischief). Have a super sunday!
Mom always forgets one too, but she always forgets one Halloween decoration, one Christmas decoration…humans just can’t get it all right.
or maybe have a few less clocks to change π π π
Mom likes time and she insists on exact time, so we do have a lot of clocks.
It is silly but you sure have a lot of clocks. I hope Bailie and Katie are helping.
This isn’t even the half of them. My mom is crazy about time and always has to know exactly what time it is, so we have lots of clocks.
Amen Emma! I am SO with you! This whole time change thing is a pita. Of course, you have more clocks to change than I do. π
Shared your photo on FB to remind people to turn back their clocks. It was too cute not to share. <3
Thank you. We have tons of clocks, but I did manage to get everything set correctly. Don’t worry, I don’t live in a clock shop, though, just have a time obsessed human!
I’m not a fan of the time changes either. All it means here is that the dogs were up an hour earlier! Luckily, Dad got up with them, and I actually did end up getting an extra half hour of sleep….for whatever that’s worth. π
Mom was the only one that got up early at our place, but she is always up way too early and waking us furs before we are ready!
An extra hour was perfect for some extra snoozing, Emma. I think Ma still needs to change the time on a clock or two around here…so I am still a bit confused what time it is. BOL Happy B&W Sunday
Oz
My mom is nuts about time, so everything has to be set before we hit the bed.
Hope you enjoyed the extra hour in bed. We hate changing all the clocks. Have a serene and easy Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
It is so ridiculous, we hate it too.
We sure don’t understand that messing with the time thing!
It really cuts into your cat napping too, having to wake up to adjust the time.
We opted out of the stupid time change. Nice snoozing Emma. you look so peaceful.
We would love to opt out too, but we don’t want to live in the few places that don’t change time.
The extra sleep was so nice, but….now the sun goes down so early! π
I know, we can’t have it all, but it is safer for us being out in the morning now I guess.
We agree…it would be so much easier living in a state that doesn’t mess with the time change! Although we are liking the extra hour of sleep but now it’s going to be dark way too early. Have a great Sunday!
It is some human’s crazy idea that no one seems to really like.
Haha…we don’t even bother changing all the clicks…too much work. Enjoyed the extra hour of sleep though.
Oh, that wouldn’t fly at my house. Mom insists that all the clocks have exactly down to the minute the same time all the time. It is her obsession I guess.
Emma you are so helpful!! These silly traditions that humans have though….we just sleep whenever we want!
I know, always in a rush, have an appt., etc. Why not just be laid back and do what you want when you want, the hectic human stuff is just not healthy.
Come to CuraΓ§ao–no daylight savings here π (But I do miss that extra hour of snooze-time π )
Guilie @ Life In Dogs
LOL! That would be an extreme solution. The bummer is they steal that hour back again in a couple of months.
You guys got lots of clocks π Enjoy the extra hour and your SUNDAY. Golden Woofs
We have tons of clocks, but on the bright side, we always know what time it is. Happy Sunday.
We hear the Weather is GRRRREAT in HAWAII… butt it gets really HOT in Arizona in the summer. So we vote you go to Hawaii and we will all come to Honna Roo Roo to visit you… OKAY????
But we would miss the cold and snow of winter. We don’t like heat and humidity much π I think the humans should revolt against this silly time change rule.
I used to have to have early or late night calls with co-workers in the US. Obviously the timing of the calls get adjusted with daylight savings as well… our time doesn’t change over here though… meh :/
It is the most useless thing, but it keeps being done and no one sees a good reason for it.
Time changes…BLEE! It messes with my tummy time. Six sharp is my dinner time. Do I really have to wait until 7 o’clock tonight? XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
We are all off too, but in 1-2 days we are back on track.
After all that hard work, you deserve an extra hour of snoozing.
Sometimes, Mom has me working like a dog around here!
I forgot to adjust the clocks and my hubby went to work an hour early. Maybe next time!
Hope you guys will join us for NaNoWoofMo this year. π We need more writers to help us decide what happens to the homeless dog in our story!
Better him than you π Thanks for the invite, but we have a lot going on this month and I don’t think we have time to really work on anything else right now. We are spread a bit thin at the moment.
We agree that it is a dumb thing to do, but it looks like you are doing a great job Emma π
We have yet to find anyone that finds it to be a wonderful idea!
Great job, Emma!! π
Thanks…I think you mean the snoozing???
Sweet dreams xx
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
Want to come over and help change our clocks too?
My paws are worn out from turning those little wheels. Mom has so many clocks! I think you will have to do our own π
UGH! These time fall backs always mess me up! This day has felt like it has gone by SO slow!!!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
It has gone by slow, but we loved that since we got tons of stuff done…now we are ready for bed but it is only 5:30!
Hi Y’all,
There is another option, Emma. Get atomic clocks that change automatically. My Human changes only the clock on the stove and the grandfather and mantel clock that you have to wind weekly.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
We have some of those too, but we don’t want to throw out all the other clocks and buy new. Slowly, like a turtle, we will have them all switched except for the antique clocks.
Extra sleep are always good.
That is exactly how I feel too!
We can’t seem to set our internal clock
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
We switch pretty well. We don’t like getting up early like Mom does, so that is not a problem, and we eat “around” the same time every day, but often we are an hour or more off, so it really doesn’t bother us much. Just at night we want to go to bed really early.
We’ve just fallen back here – I’m missing having some light on my evening walk :0(
Luckily, our evening walks are usually fairly short, so it isn’t a big deal, but now our long morning walks have a bit of light for a few weeks until it goes dark again. It’s just silly to mess with the time!
For me it’s the other way round. Our morning walks usually got lighter anyway so it was only the first 10 minutes or so in the dark, but now my morning walk is all lovely and light, but the evening walk is dark and glum!
Pretty soon both the morning and evening walks will be in the dark! Oh well, it is the way it is and in another six weeks the days will start getting longer again.
Woo hoo that’s cheered me up – although my only 6 weeks!!
π
We don’t like it getting dark too early. Pierre sees monsters in the corner of our yard in the dark. That means Mom & Dad have to take us out in the backyard on our leashes at dark. I’ve never seen these monsters but feel the need to bark them up for Pierre’s peace of mind. You have a lot of cool clocks to turn back. XXOO Bentley
We always love to howl and bark in the yard. Last night we chased a wabbit, we were super loud and Mom was not happy. Since we are early risers, we enjoy the fact it gets light out a bit earlier.
Personally, I think since “time” is all relative I think we should agree to split the difference and NEVER fall or spring – it’s hard on the internal clocks, it’s hard to change all the clocks we have in the house and cars, it is HARD on my knees to FALL OR SPRING. Let’s stop this craziness and let a good dog sleep when ever and where ever they want!
Chablis
I think we should just keep it the same all year because no one wants to change, it is crazy!
LOL time changes are tough in our house.
The change itself isn’t too bad for us, but setting those clocks is a real bear of a project!
I was dead tired at 6:30 last night. What a rough weekend.
Mom actually likes to go to bed early and be up super early, so that part of falling back is easy, but still it is silly to change the time.
Haley still hasn’t adjusted to the new time! She knows when it’s time to eat despite what the clocks read, lol!
Luckily our food times vary by an hour or more often during the week, so we aren’t having much trouble.
