My friends, yesterday was a huge disappointment for my me and my sisters! Those TV weather folks talked to us for days about six to twelve inches of snow on Monday and what happened? Nothing! The snowstorm went north of us. All we got was a lousy inch or so along with a ton of nasty ice, no snowstorm! The part they did not mess up on was the cold and blustery winds. We had to really bundle up to go out!
Even though we barely had any snow, we made the best of it. Bailie was romping around like some kind of weird ballerina!
I tend to be more civilized and was simply assessing the situation. Still can’t believe this is all we ended up with!
The puppy in Bailie came out, AGAIN! She was chasing a leaf on the snow. I was trying to ignore her immaturity.
Our neighbors let the little dogs next doorΒ out. Bailie and I enjoy running up and down the fence with them. All four of us bark and carry on something fierce until the humans make us stop. (The fourth dog is on the other side of Bailie and can’t be seen in the photo.)
Finally my furs were tired and it just wasn’t as fun as I had anticipated so I headed into the house. What a shame we didn’t get more snow. It will be getting really cold now, single digits, but without snow, that is no fun! Hopefully we will have a chance at a nice load of the white stuff again soon!
I have a feeling you will have lots of opportunity to run on deep snow!
We sure hope so. Winter without snow is no fun.
Typical of the weather blabbers to get it wrong but no worries the white stuff will be heading your way soon no doubt. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
Great term, weather blabbers…that is what they are. Paws crossed for a good storm soon.
It’s cold here too but no snow:( Have a great Tuesday!
Now it is getting really cold and we have only about 2″ of snow on top of the slippery ice, not real good.
Our weather guessers must be helping your weather guessers!
They got the snowfall part correct, but just the wrong area!
I guess I”m sorry you didn’t get snowed in since you enjoy it so much…but I think you’ll still have plenty of opportunities before too long.
We sure hope so. Snow is a necessity in the winter.
Emma, does your butt get cold when you sit on the cold, icy ground? It sure looks like you and your wild child sister are having fun in your blustery weather! It just rained here all day yesterday, and we are the only continental state missing this arctic blast. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
No cold butt here. I guess we have enough furs on our private areas to keep things warm π
I so wish I could send Torrey your way. She LOVES to play in the snow.
She would love it here in the winter. We don’t have much, but hopefully it will come in the next couple weeks.
Yes, as snowfalls go… that was a pitiful showing. It looked like you were making the best of it though. We’re in Florida…. we’ve never seen snow. Might be interesting.
Have a great day.
hugs, Bugsy and Knuckles
Downright depressing! Just a half hour north and they are drowning in the white stuff. Not fair. Better luck next storm I guess.
I have a friend in northern Minnesota who sent me some photos – looks like you guys missed one heck of a storm to kick off the season. But being that it’s Minnesota I have no fear you’ll get more than your fair share of snow to romp in.
We were really looking forward to a good dumping, but as you say, we will most likely have many more chances this winter.
What a disappointment when you were looking forward to snow. π I’m sure you’ll get some soon. As always, great photos!
I’m sure we will get some, but ice was just not anything like what we had planned on.
Ha! They get it wrong here too. We got a silly little dusting like you guys. Mom thinks its cold, but we think it is just right!! Lilly was romping a bit and I did some sitting. We want more snow though! your doodle friend, Dash
Of course, they got the blustery cold part right, but the important part, snow, wrong! Oh well, I’m sure snow will come at a later date.
No snow after all of that?!? You poor thing. I know you enjoy a good romp in the snow, Emma. You and Bailie sure did have fun though…despite the weatherman being wrong.
Oz
It was quite disappointing as just a half hour drive north and they got over a foot. No fair. Oh well, we will just wait for the next storm and cross our paws.
Come a little farther north. WE got snow! Did you know some of the northern cities got more than a foot of snow? We missed that, too.
We want to be where they got the 17″, but no, we have ice covered with about 2″ of snow. Oh well, the winter is young, maybe the next storm!
SORRY that you got the DANGEROUS ICE…. Snow is Actually BETTER than THAT,,, butt we gotta say… WE hate snow … and WINTER in General. Dachshunds are 70 Degree Dogs…. 69 is TOO COLD and 71 is too hot……
Wow, you guys have quite the wide temp range! We love cold and snow, but not ice, no fun.
Don’t feel bad Emma. That is about the total snowfall that we get for the entire winter! You just have to learn to build itty bitty snowmen! BOL! Love the hats. β₯
We are crossing our paws the next storm hits us big. We love a good load of the white fluff, and it is such good exercise hopping through it all too.
I’m sure you will get some more snow next month for a white christmas. But even an inch of snow leads to an emergency situation in my part of the world. Two snowflakes and you can wait till the first car lands in the roadside ditch :o)
It was like that on the North Sea in Germany too, 1/2 inch and they closed up everything in town! Crazy!
Snow is so much fun, even if there’s only a little bit! π
True, but it is not good when there is ice underneath it. We have to be careful and poor Katie really has to be careful she doesn’t fall.
Well. they said we would get snow , and all we got was WIND and COLD and some rain sprinkles! Lucy and I DO NOT like rain! The wind was like being at the sea shore – biting!
Chablis.
We still have the wind and cold and it will continue. I think we will take a vacation to a warm climate until proper snow and weather is ready to arrive!
I wondered if you got a lot of snow where you are, because I also heard you were going to! We like the snow too, but the bitter cold and wind we could do without. I’ve heard that’s what’s headed our way this weekend, and we haven’t even seen more than a flurry and a little snow mixed with the rain so far!
It still looks like you had a little fun out there though. Snow tends to energize Cricket, even at her old age of 10. We’ll see what Luke does with the first snow of the season too.
Katie was out romping like a puppy this morning. Cold wind and snow energizes her but we have to be real careful she doesn’t fall on the ice. We got about 2″ of the snow all told, but the cold and wind is here and it is not nice.
Maybe it is a good thing. I am watching reports from the UP and they are getting hammered. Just think of the hunters planning to go up for firearm deer hunting! I bet a lot will cancel and snowmobile instead…lol.
Lots of snowmobiles north of here too where they got over a foot of snow. We would sure prefer the snow over the ice, though.
Can you believe it was 60 here today? I did not even wear a coat. We hate ice. You are right, snow would be better.
It is seriously nasty cold and windy here. We always wear our fur coats no matter what the temps, but it is real chilly and that ice is nasty!
Pretty sure you can count on more of the white stuff soon Emma, here too. Sorry you were so disappointed. Love Dolly
We are all pretty bummed and mad too because of the layer of ice on the ground. Yuck!
I was thinking of you guys yesterday and was jealous of this so-called storm I kept hearing about. I guess you’ll have to wait for the next one. There will be plenty to come, I’m sure.
We are still bumming about missing out by about 30 miles and it really stinks getting ice!
No snow? Oh noes:-(
I know, terrible, right?
UGH! My huskies have been tricked twice now!!!!
We have had two days where a little bit of snow fell, but not one flake stayed on the ground!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
We have about 2″, nothing really. Hopefully we will get a big load soon.
Well darn! You guys look ready at least. It’s “cold” here too but you would probably bark out loud at me if I told you the temperature lol. Shiner and I chill easily!
Living in Minnesota, cold has a whole different meaning than it does in most places.
We only got a dusting here in Iowa, too! But those winds have been pretty nasty! Riley isn’t too fond of the snow…do you wear booties when you go outside, Emma??
We rarely wear booties, only if it is more than -10 or if the snow is really wet. We love the snow, and hope for more soon.
The deep snows are right around the corner
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
A dog can only hope!
Sorry Emma we thought you would be covered in snow!!! We are getting the cold weather today started 61F and was down to 38F tonight. The weekend is suppose to be low 20’s hi 30’s. in fact that is our temps. for next 7 days maybe more, but no fun snow. Just freezing:(
Freezing isn’t so bad if it comes with snow, but just freezing cold and windy like it is isn’t fun. Cuddle up with the newfs and you will stay warm.
Don’t think Aspen has his 20’s coat yet, but Mica radiates heat:)
I’m sure it will come.
Looks like you managed to make the most of it!
You have to work with what you get, so we did.
She just looks like a happy girl:)
Can’t link up to you, tried 5 times
What do you mean link up?
Emma I just couldn’t get my blog to link to the pictures and titles this morning. I had something wrong because I tried another besides yours and it rejected it too.
Okay. I wanted to make sure I didn’t have a problem with the blog. Thank you!
Your welcome π
How disappointing! You didn’t really get enough to get a snootfull!
No, it was a real bummer!
I thought you were going to get a ton of snow. You girls look so warm in your snow gear.
It seems like they always over-estimate the amount of snowfall in forecasts, especially at the beginning of snow season. I love getting huge snowfalls, it make the cold temperatures worthwhile. Here’s to some major snowstorms this winter!
Alright, someone that feels the same way as we do!
Bummer. We’re really sad that the big snowstorm never happened, too. We got a little bit of snow, enough to still be covering the grass. I feel like a lot of places north of the Cities got quite a bit more snow! Maybe there’s something about the Minnesota River that changes the atmosphere when the storm goes over it. Who knows!
Those northern suburbs really got lucky with getting a load of white stuff.
I say if it’s going to be cold, there better be snow. We are expecting snow tonight, but only a couple of inches. Not enough to make it a snow day. π
Exactly, cold and no snow, no good!
No snow nevermind. You guys look really festive π
But cold is no fun without snow.
It was just a “sneak preview” before the big one!
A little “trial run”.
