About a week and a half ago on a Sunday, Bailie and I got really wild. It was fall, but there was a big cold snap and snowstorm headed out way for Monday and we could sense the end of fall. We decided to make the best of it and get a real good workout. We love cold and snow, but the best traction for paws is the grass and we wanted to get some good chase and wrestle in before fall ended. Once outside, I told Bailie about my secret strategy.
Mom couldn’t keep us in the house as we had a serious case of wild pants and were threatening to destroy the living room if kept in the house! We hadn’t had our tunnel out in ages, so Mom brought that out for us to play in.
We took turns racing through the tunnel. Bailie decided to run around with a tennis ball. I had no interest in that.
I ran in the tunnel and Bailie chased me on the outside.
Poor Katie just wanted to nap in the grass but we almost ran her right over with our chase games.
I thought I better give Bailie a little dental check up. I used to do that with Katie, so why not Bailie?
We took turns going through and around the tunnel. It was tons of fun. One thing we love about our tunnel is Mom puts it away after we play so we don’t see it real often. It makes tunnel time more special!
Bailie and I spent a good hour racing in and around the tunnel, and playing chase and wrestle. It was a great workout for our last real day of fall! That night we both went upstairs and hopped into our cuddle beds at 7:30! Getting a good workout doesn’t have to be complicated! Our best tip is to have your human outside with you as we seem to enjoy playing more when we have an audience. Fall is now gone and we have cold and a bit of white stuff, but chase and wrestle will continue for sure!

BOL!! That looks like so much fun! I keep bugging Mom to get me a tunnel. Your head in Bailie’s mouth made us laugh really hard. Have fun and stay safe. XXOO, Bentley
As a big sister, I need to make sure she is brushing her teeth, you know. You should get a tunnel! They are like $30 on Amazon and it is so much fun, plus it folds up so easily into a thing package. We keep it in the closet when we aren’t using it.
Looks like y’all had a whole lotta fun.
We always enjoy top speed fun in the yard.
We are debating whether or not to ask Santa for one of those tunnel things….Ladybug just MIGHT be afraid…but we are pretty sure Chloe would love it! You all had fun!! xo Chloe and LadyBug
I guess some dogs are afraid of tunnels, but we never thought twice about it, and even Katie went in one time. She is a bit large for it.
You two look like you are having the most amazing time!
We sure do enjoy getting our wild pants on!
LOL poor Katie did almost get run over and Thunder wanted to know what all the barking was about. π Have a great weekend.
When hounds chase, we give our hunting call, so it is always loud. I know the neighbors love it!
BOL! Great photos! Looks like you had a wild time and I can’t blame Katie for keeping her distance π
She would get mowed down easily.
I think Katie enjoys watching her sisters as much you enjoyed enjoyed playing!
She likes to stand on the sideline and bark at us.
What fun!!! You did have your wild pants on!
Mom did not know what to do with us as we were totally crazy!
there is nothing better than having a good run to burn off some energy
We definitely earned some extra treats after that episode.
I hope Santa brings a tunnel in my size this year… and not one where I have to call the fire fighters to get my butt free… Where have you bought yours? Is it a “pet”-tunnel or one for little bipeds?
My sister Katie can fit in it, but not standing up tall. We got ours from Amazon, an agility tunnel for dogs. Here is a link to the post with the information on it. https://mygbgvlife.mystagingwebsite.com/2014/01/03/tunnel-fun/
thanks Emma, I will look at amazon… if even the cat likes it it must be the perfect tunnel :o)
Well, a cat like Bert is not really a normal cat!
Oh boy, that looks like a lot of fun! We have a short tunnel, but we love yours. Rocco also loves an audience… funny how that works!
They say dogs just left alone in the yard really don’t do much, they want their human there with them.
What a big bunch of fun and that tunnel is amazing!
No surprise, but Bert likes it too when we play in it indoors.
Wow, that tunnel looks super fun! Great action shots too.
Thanks. You guys could have one as it folds up to almost nothing for storage.
Barley loves her tunnel, too, but it stays at her grandparents’ house since we don’t have a fenced-in yard. They live over 12 hours away, so Barley doesn’t see her tunnel often, either! Looks like you girls sure had fun!
Seeing it less makes it all the more fun!
Hey Emma!
Wow, you guys did tennis-ball-tunnel-tricks! That looks like such fun and I’m gonna ask for a tunnel for Christmas. Holy Moly you guys to some seriously fast zoomies! Great video of your speedy selves. BOL
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, Police Commish
We really get the speed on when we play chase and wrestle! The tunnel is tons of fun and sometimes we even wrestle inside the tunnel! I think our was only like $30 on Amazon. Mom bought it for us at Christmas last year.
A tunnel is even more fun with a tennis ball.
Wags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats.
For Bailie. I don’t have any interest in tennis balls myself.
Yay! That looks like so much fun! Ours have had a case of “wild pants” lately, too, bc of the colder weather. Hee hee. π
Colder weather is a contributor as is wind, but Mom is sure we sensed the change in weather coming.
Hi Emma that looks like so much fun. I wish Kilo had friends and a closed garden to play in- he regularly gets a case of “wild pants” LOL. He loved racing through the tunnel at PawsWay. Fantastic photos! Have a great weekend XS
A yard and siblings is really a great thing, we are fortunate.
Whooa!!! Those tunnels scare me
Lily & Edward
Some dogs do have a fear, but none of us do. We love zooming through.
You two did almost run poor Katie over there a couple times! It’s good to see you having so much fun. I was going to get our tunnel out one more time too then we got a whole bunch of rain and I hadn’t thought about it since. Maybe this weekend if it’s not too windy (it’s very windy and cold today).
We usually have ours in the house, but Mom thought it would be fun outside. Bailie likes to drag it around, so indoors makes that harder to do for her.
I never thought about buying these tunnels before! These look like a blast…adding to Haley’s Christmas list.
I think I need to sell them myself as every time I post about them everyone loves them. We have a blast in ours for sure…Mom says it was well worth the $30!
7:30 bedtime, the sure sign of a great romp!
It sure is and it for some reason made Mom real happy!
Emma, tell your mom that those tunnels can be used inside as well if you have the room. We haven;t used ours much lately – mostly when the grand kids come and then they crawl through them with us ( we are faster and sometime they and we are in the tunnels together ! OOPS!!! We will send of a picture of us and them in the tunnels
We mainly use ours in the house in the winter. Bailie likes to drag it around which is more difficult inside. It gives us something to do when we are wild inside and it is too cold to be outside. We can’t even stake it down in the yard because Bailie pulls the stakes out!
Now that looks like a fun time! I love Katie in the background just keeping watch π
She is the supervisor/referee!
You girls sure do know how to zoom around the yard. We’re glad we don’t have an older sister to get in our way. Miss Katie didn’t look too happy when you ran over her.
Millie & Walter
She does get pretty mad at us. She likes to be on the sideline and bark orders at us. Mom says Bailie and I are rude to not be more careful with Katie, but we think she should simply get out of our way.
Mr. N has a kid’s tunnel. He’d probably enjoy it more with dog friends!
I think unless you have a playmate, human, feline, or canine, it would get boring fast. Our cat bro Bert plays with us when we have it indoors.
That looks so fun!! Please more videos!!
Thanks Elvis. We just don’t want anyone to get bored with our videos.
What a great workout, that is one big tunnel!
Isn’t it awesome! Mom bought it for us last Christmas. Katie can fit in if she bends over a bit too, but she isn’t really into it like we are.
This tunnel looks super fun! I work at a dog hotel, and I think our daycare dogs would just love something like this…what do you think: worth the purchase for our “guests”?
Some dogs love tunnels, some are scared of them. I think it would be great for a dog hotel, but it isn’t built to hold up to chewing, tugging, etc. Mom has to be with us all the time so Bailie doesn’t tear it as she likes to drag it around. If it is supervised play I think it would be great!
Happy Fall, ya’ll! I run like that in the yard solo. Today I am having to behave. The mom had her pacemaker replaced this morning. I am trying hard to stay gentle. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Oh goodness! You better be nice to her! Careful in your yard that there are no creepy reptiles. My mom doesn’t like us out in the grass much in Florida.
There is nothing so good as racing through a tunnel. LOL.
It sure makes for a fun game of chase!
Glad you got one last fling in because winter is here! Love Dolly
It was the very last day before the cold and snow showed up. Mom said we could sense it.
Wow!!! That sure sounds like a ton of fun! I love watching you guys run around in that video too! I’m not sure my huskies would go in the tunnel or not, they tend to be leery of things like that.
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Some dogs are scared of that kind of thing, but we are not.
You girls had a good goodbye to warmy weather. Now comes playtime in snow and cold! Still a lot of fun!
Oh yeah, we are happy with winter as well. It is great having the different seasons.
It looks like you two had a great time! The tunnel looks like lots of fun!
Oh yes, we had a blast and we always love it when Mom gets our tunnel out.
Looks like so much fun!
It sure was and we were sacked out after!
Oh Emma, you had tunnel fun without Harley. He hasn’t been back in his again – we might be able to squeeze in one more romp – maybe….
We needed one last good romp before winter hit and before we went on vacation. It was so fun!
I can see you were having a great time!
We really enjoyed that last romp! Now we are racing in the snow which we love too.
