As you know, my sisters and I travel a lot. Lately, Bailie and I have been getting a bit more dirty than usual as we do nose work outdoors often, and Bailie is doing her tracking through dirty fields. Mom has had a cargo liner in our SUV for years, but she always dislikes them. They are so complicated to install, they fall apart, they are too big, always something that frustrates her. I howled at the offer from 4Knines to test out an SUV cargo liner as I was hoping it might finally be one we like. The package showed up and I grabbed it right away to take a look! Mom waited three days to take it out of the package as she was dreading the installation process.
Finally I convinced her to open it up and give it a try. Wow! Look at how simple it is! Just hook it over the back headrests and done! So simple a dog can almost do it! We were amazed, and it also fit perfectly! The part Mom really loves is the flap down over the bumper. We aren’t allowed to jump in or out of vehicles because of our long backs and joints, so we put our paws on the bumper, and Mom lifts our little furry behinds into the car. This is awesome as it keeps us from scratching the car! 4Knines was really thinking!
We also love that it has slits in the sides where we can pull our seat belts through. Actually, if you have a smaller SUV, the slits allow you to fold the sides up to protect the side areas of the SUV, but that isn’t the case in ours. What else do we love? The cargo liner is super durable for my sisters and I, waterproof, and it has a lifetime warranty! Even if you don’t have a dog, it would be great for hauling stuff. It works with our back seats folded down as well! I asked Mom for her honest opinion of this cargo liner and this is what she had to say:
Honestly, Emma, this cargo liner is perfect. It is the first one I have ever found that takes just seconds to put in or take out, it covers the bumper, looks great, and protects the car from all the dirt and things you dogs drag in! I wish I had found one of these years ago! Awesome product!
Not only do I love this cargo liner, I wanted to tell you a bit about the great owners of 4Knines. 4Knines is a high-end focused company owned by Jim and Maggie, owners of two Dobermans, Ares and Ana, their motto is: “Nothing but the best for your best friend!” They started this 4Knines to make tough products that would stand up to the wear and tear of their dogs. They are firm believers in customer service and in being hands on, so if you call in, there is a good chance one of them will answer the call. 4Knines offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee on their products. Another great thing 4Knines does, is to donate $1 to the ASPCA for every unit sold. They also support multiple pet advocacy groups such as the Arizona Humane Society, Soldiers best Friend, Marley’s Mutts, Desert Harbor Doberman Rescue and many more.
I give the SUV Cargo Liner my Emma paw up vote of confidence! Love the product, and love 4Knines! Christmas is coming up, this should definitely be on your list!

Looks like a great cargo may that covers almost everything from mess and damage,
It’s great. The best one we have ever had. Mom is in love with it!
Terrific review Emma! Thanks for sharing!! Great idea to keep the car seats clean!!
With all of us and our outdoor activities it would be a real mess without something covering our area!
This looks like what I’ve been waiting for.
Seriously, my mom loves it! She has tried many different kinds and never been happy, but this one is perfect!
Looks like a good one and so easy to use! Great review!
We love that it is so simple to put in the car!
I would love a Cargo liner for my 2 dogs that love to ride in the car and go everywhere with us.
It is a definite must have for dogs in the car!
Thanks for the paws up, Emma. The mom has a plain old car not an SUV. She will try to remember this when she gets her next vehicle which will be an SUV. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
They have seat covers too for cars. It is a wonderful thing to keep the car less messy with us furry ones.
Looks like a very practical product. Thanks for the great review.
It is and keeps the car a bit more tidy.
Well, between my own pack of five rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds, I am also a volunteer rescue transport driver so I have all types of dogs (and cats and even other occasional types of animals) in my vehicle. I’ve had to clean up more messes than I care to even try to count and would love something like this to keep the back of my vehicle clean.
Waterproof and washable too. It is awesome! We were not expecting to love it as much as we do.
We’d like this cargo cover because with 3 goldens, we are constantly cleaning out back there!
Oh yeah, you need one of these!
Great review, Emma! Our review is up today and we love this as well. I think my favorite part of it is how easy it is to install.
As I mentioned, Mom waited three days to open it up because she was dreading the install, but it was simple!
Emma, I so can relate. I have a hammock liner for Harley and it has made a world of difference. Great post, and a really pawsome job with your “paw of approval” photo.
Thank you. We have a hammock thing too for times when we are in a car or in our own backseat. Wonderful inventions!
great review and it sounds like a great company
We are quite pleased with them and their products.
I know exactly what you mean about most of them being difficult to put in your vehicle, I have had the same issues. This one sounds great, and I wish good luck to all who enters!!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Sorry, no Canada once again π
Good review. Boy do we need that!
Lily & Edward
It is great and washable too!
I hope I win, my new car needs this! Thanks for a great review.
Definitely need one for a new car!
This would be fantastic for my Subaru Forester.
It would be great and it helps so much with the mess!
I love trying out new pet travel products. This cargo liner looks very nice and comfortable. One year we rented an SUV to travel from Kansas to Texas. I didn’t have a cargo liner and so used blankets. The blankets protected the floor but not the back of the seats. It took forever for me to clear off the dog hair from the back of the seats so that the car rental company would not charge me extra for cleaning. I love that this cargo liner covers just about everything.
It is super easy to take in and out too, so you can move it around, wash it, and it is also waterproof if there are any incidents or if someone has a car sick dog.
It looks great and I love how exactly it fits. Ours looks always messy, because it always goes out of place. If my mom will get the big bad black SUV my dad promised her a while ago (1996!) we will buy such a cargo liner too!
Well, that is only 18 years, give him some time π
I wish I saw this post before I decided to set the pups up in my backseat. I do have a cover, but I think your setup would work much better.
We have a hammock for the backseat too, but we find the mess travels around in the car more when we are in the backseat, so we are happy in the very back and this liner is perfect!
That looks great! It’s always a problem to find something suitable.
It really is, so we didn’t have much hope for this one and were pleasantly surprised.
How wonderful you finally found one that is just right!!!
It’s about time!
I’m glad you found a liner that works great for you, I’d love to have one in my car for those wet walking days at the park. π
Tell me, what do you do with the part that hangs over the bumper once the hatch is closed? Is there a way to attach it to the inside hatch door?
At first that bummed us out, but then we loved having it and it just folds naturally and we tuck it under the mat. Works like a charm! They are waterproof and washable to, so real practical and simple.
You know Emma, if I was big enough to ride in the cargo area or had siblings to ride in that area with, well this would be the perfect liner! Just look how comfy it is…and easy to install? My Ma is right there with your mom – easy is always best. Great review!

You could turn the back of an SUV into an apartment you are so small!
Obviously, since I don’t have a car, I won’t enter your giveaway. But we have a similar seat cover we really like. And ease of installation was the most important feature.
When you need a seat cover for a rental car, it really helps to have one you can set up quickly so you can go off on adventures.
We have a backseat hammock cover that is pretty simple we use if we are ever in a backseat.
I laughed knowing that we get into the car the same way. Mom says they need to invent a Basset butt lifter! BOL! 4Knines makes amazing car seat covers. I got to use mine on a trip to the v*e*t yesterday. It is the first time that mom hasn’t had to sit in the back seat with me. What kind of seat harness do you wear? Mom has been looking at them but there are so many choices.
In Germany, because of the Autobahn, having your dog restrained is the law, so we got our seat belts there. They are German approved for the Autobahn. We love them and Mom finds them to be super safe. You can now order them here too, so we got Bailie’s here as soon as she moved in last year. I have a post on them with info and photos. If you have questions, let me know. We all wear them all the time in the car and don’t mind a bit. The first few times you might not like it, but you adjust fast. https://mygbgvlife.mystagingwebsite.com/2013/08/23/buckle-up/
We are so getting one of these with all the travel we do with our dog!
I can’t believe you don’t have one! They are so great and this brand is the best ever!
I like the quilted look of it. It wouldn’t work for me though–I declared I wasn’t going way back there EVER. So, we have a ‘hammock’ in the back seat for me. I’ll have to check and see if 4Knines makes one of those.
Sage, my friend, you are in luck, they make the hammocks too! We prefer the back and like to look out the back window to see where we have been. Get 20% off a hammock in their upcoming sale!
It does look like it fits your vehicle perfectly. It looks really nice, and not bulky or like it’s going to slide around. I don’t have a use for it because I drive a car, but I will say the back seat has taken a beating from Ace over the years! I usually just throw a towel or a blanket down, but obviously that only does so much.
They have the hammock variety for the backseat.
That looks awesome…. going to search the internet for one. Hope they sell them in Holland as well π
We always had them from TopZoo when we lived in Germany. They worked, but were so very complicated.
Would love to have my pup be comfy and save my seats at the same time
We are only giving away the SUV cargo liner, but they make the backseat hammock too and it sounds just as good.
would love to have my pup be comfy in the backseat.
This looks like a really fine addition to your travel needs!
It is perfect. We are thrilled with it!
I have several older dogs and this would help in case there is an accident. Thanks!
Defininely since it is waterproof and washable!
i need one b/c my youngest gets car sick sometimes. this would help me from cleaning up my fairly new car. in addition i live in the country, so there is mud, leaves, etc. that get in my car from their little paws, wish their was one for the windows, i have little nose prints all over my windows.,
Oh yes, you definitely need one! They are waterproof and washable, so perfect!
I would love to have one of these! I always have so much dog hair in my car…
It is wonderful. Mom has had several over the years, but this one is by far her favorite!
My SUV would be so grateful if I were to win. I have to large, long-haired, rescue dogs that fill my seats with hair. Please help.
Oh, you definitely need a cargo liner!
Oh, Mom needs one of these! the grand kids are always complaining about Lucy and my hair when they ride in mom’s car.
Chablis
Enter to win or buy one with my links. They are awesome. We’ve had the cargo liner since November and just love it, and now we have this one for the backseat and it is just as awesome! They are so easy to install, and they are easy to clean plus being sturdy.
