Once upon a time, three dogs went on vacation to Florida. Because of the creepy reptiles in the area, they were not allowed to play in the yard, and were relegated to the pool cage for outdoor fun. What can dogs do in a pool cage? Looks like Bailie is already bored and planning some mischief.
Little Bailie brought along her tennis ball for fun. It bounces well and she could chase it around in the pool cage.
We did a lot of just hanging out, but Bailie had to have her antler to chew on.
Sometimes that relaxation really wears a dog out and napping just happens.
Bailie and I both missed running around in the grass back home in our fenced yard. Staring out at the unused lawn was a favorite pastime. We each took out own side to look out.
Bailie did try swimming a few times. She didn’t get all the way in, but she got about half way in. I did not even try. I love to swim, but pools are scary with their steps and drop offs.
One of the first days was really nice out, so we decided to break out the Bowser Beer and have a little party poolside. It was fun! We were waiting for the boys to show up, but they never did.
Bailie over did it a bit on the Bowser Beer I think. I just let her sleep it off in the sun. She is still young and wild, so I was not the least bit surprised.
That was about the extent of the fun a dog can have in a pool cage. Above is a super short video of Bailie burning off some excess craziness with her pool toy.
One more note…Congratulations to Miley, Maggie, and Bruin over at Miley’s Daily Scoop! These lucky goldens won my SUV Cargo Liner giveaway! If you didn’t win, don’t despair! You can still get 20% off retail prices on all 4Knines products on Amazon and the 4Knines website, but hurry, today, Cyber Monday is the final day!
This is Emma, signing off from the pool cage.
I am joining the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies.
How pawsitively fantastic to have your own pool like me. I like to sun myself on the deck, but I am not fond of the water. You all look stunning sunning yourselves. Bailie, I need to show you how to take the cover off of tennis balls. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
So far that is about the only thing she hasn’t attempted to destroy are her tennis balls. She does like to go in the pool, though.
That sure looked like you all had fun hanging out by the pool. Lucky you we so wish we had one this Summer. Have a marvellous Monday.
best wishes Molly
In the summer we just have our splashing pool or we have to find a lake to visit.
Sounds like a perfect vacation to me sitting in the sun and doing nothing.
Katie and I like to do nothing, but Bailie gets bored quickly and that means she starts digging up trouble.
that is one of the drawbacks to Florida – that you could end up as snack food if your are not careful
One big reason we would never want to live there because we love our fenced yard and being able to walk anywhere without nasty creatures getting us.
At least you got to work on your tan…FL is always good for that in the winter time.
I tried, but my ears never darken. I wanted them to turn dark like when I was a pup.
OMD, you guys really know how to vacation! We are so jealous!! Great pics and thanks again for the giveaway! Can’t wait to get our liner!
My sisters and I do know how to have a good time! I know you will love the liner, too bad I can’t just zap one over to you right now!
Fun in the sun. what a great way to spend the weekend. Better tell Bailie to take it easy on the bowser beer though.
You are so well prepared for fun in the sun BOL
Lily & Edward
We try our best!
Now you’ve done it. 6 in the morning and I’m shouting, “OMG THOSE ARE SOME GREAT PHOTOS!!!” at the top of my lungs. You need to put warning labels on these posts. 😛
Thank you! It makes us happy when people enjoy our pics and posts 🙂 Have a great day!
That Bailie!! She does look a bit bored, you’re right to keep an eye on her!! Great post! your doodle friend Dash
She is a real teenager, too cool for her own fur and always looking for trouble!
Aw, now come on Emma….there aren’t alligators EVERYWHERE. I get to play in my yard (though I cannot be out there unsupervised…you never know). Of course, I bet it is nice to not have to worry about such things like when you are at home.
Oz
They aren’t everywhere, but in the community we stay in there are several we know of and two are less than a block away, plus there are snakes, so we watch out. Mom is terrified of reptiles.
You sure do have some mighty fun times on your vacations!!!
We had a good time!
They didn’t show???
How dare they!!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
That’s true, to do nothing can be exhausting and makes you dog tired. But I wish I would be there with you as you had your pool pawty! btw: I saw your comment at Bentley’s blog, what’s wrong with one of the best french breeds and the AKC? Come over in january and we rock that paris dog show :o)
The whole world recognizes the GBGV, just not the AKC, yet! We are moving up in status, but we need more numbers. One day, we will storm the dog shows and steal all the awards!
I’m sure you will… probably that’s the problem of the AKC, they know you will be BIS furever&ever :o)
We think someone must have been turning the boys away at the back fence, you two girls were stylin’ for sure!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
That could be the case.
What a fun pool party!
On the nice weather days we did have quite the time!
Oh sweetie, sweetie, sweetie! I am so sorry that I couldn’t come bask in the Florida sunshine with you. Mom would not let me take her car. Grrrr! You sure look beautiful. ♥ Bentley
Maybe after your birthday she will let you take the car???
About now, I’d be happy to be locked in a pool cage in Florida. Don’t look too wistfully at the lawn, Emma, or your mom will take you back to Minnesota. 🙂
We are back home, and we are enjoying the cold and snow. We are more of a winter family than summer, but vacations are still fun.
No splish splash in the pool cage?
Bailie went in a couple times, but it was pretty cool for swimming, so Mom didn’t want us all wet and not drying off. Bummer, I know.
That sure looks nice and like a lot of fun, Emma, even if you were a bit bored at times. I’m sure you missed your zooming around on the lawn. It’s too bad you didn’t want to swim in there. Luke and Sheba would be in heaven, but Cricket probably wouldn’t swim either.
Bailie likes the pool, but it is scary for me. I enjoy swimming but not in that pool.
Oh my gosh, you girls are so cute! I laughed to myself so many times reading this post. Love the video of Bailie and her pool toy. Ace still needs to get his paws on some of that Bowser Beer. He is jealous. Maybe he will have to get some for New Years.
Oh, I know he would love that beer, it is real tasty stuff! Bailie is one crazy puppy and her hair is always a mess from her rowdiness!
you are having so much fun! doesn’t look boring to me at all!!! Barks and licks and love, Dakota (Dakota just ran over when he heard you barking!!!
Well, it is just not set up for chase and wrestle which means we run out of things to do, but for a short period of time it is alright.
You’re not making me want to move to Florida for sure! I guess coyotes are better(?).
We don’t ever want to move to Florida, for one, Mom doesn’t like the climate, but she also doesn’t like reptiles. We prefer coyotes.
Somehow not feeling real sorry for you having to hang out in a pool “cage” can’t believe its too dangerous to go outside of it. You should be swimming more but since I don’t like water I get that too. Hang in there you’ll be back in the snow soon. Love Dolly
The gators are less than a block from our house and there are snakes outside too, so Mom doesn’t like us to play in the grass. It is fun to go for a short vacation, but we love being back home in the snow and cold.
Wow a pool party. I wish I was there.
Surf is up at the pool! We would love to have a bigger party next time!
Here is one boy that would join that pool party any day! Although, it would be for the ladies and the drinks, and the sun. I don’t like to get wet!
I like to swim, but not in that pool, only Bailie goes in that pool. You should join us next time!
Mowzers, that’s kinda like, oh we dunno, being stuck inside all the time. Kinda like..US! (MOL)
Seriouslies, we can see where it’d be hard to take that nice green grass on the other side of the fence.
It is kind of living like a cat but we do get out for walks and stuff.
I woulda been swimmin.
The pool scares me, but Bailie likes to go in.
Sitting around a pool sounds boring, especially since I hate water. Hope your mom is enjoying the vacation and hope you get to go home to your yard soon!
It was boring when the weather wasn’t real nice, but we like to back in the hot sun next to the pool.
Wow, looks like you had an amazing pool party. Rest, sun, pool, lounging, & beverages…..a perfect doggy day.
We did manage to get out there and have some fun!
We agree, it is pretty boring if you can run around in the yard. Lexie and Mics never like pools because of the drop off they both liked to just walk down into the water. We’ll have to wait to see what Aspen does. Lol
That is how I feel about water too. Bailie is a bit more daring with the steps, but I prefer to swim in a lake or ocean.
Sounds like you guys made the most of a bad situation!!
It’s not really bad, just different and for a short time on vacation, but you can imagine the zoomies we do when we get back home!
What great pool time with some chewy fun. Congrats to the winner, I so wanted to win, better head off to the website to get me a deal.
It is a great cover, and for the price, it is a good deal. We’ve tried several, but this one is the best by far.
Oh no! Girls gone wild! What cute photo ops though 🙂
The party sisters hit Florida!
I love the water, but I like to be able to walk in and out of it.
Exactly why I don’t go in the pool. Bailie is the only one that goes in.
I love these pics, especially the Bowser Beer photos – SO adorable! I would not mind being locked away in that pool cage w/ that beautiful pool to swim in!
Since it is only for a while on vacation it is alright, but long term we would not be so thrilled.
All that nice grass going to waste. Brown dawgs have never been in a big pool. I wonder if they would like it?
Bailie goes in the pool, but I like a lake or ocean where I can walk in more like on a ramp, don’t like the stairs thing.
