Hey, there! It’s me, Emma, in the manger with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. Since there were no wise men, I was blending myself in as one wise dog. They weren’t very friendly folks, didn’t even say one word to me when I posed with them!
I think in Minnesota a family needs more than a manger for shelter! What is that I see? A baby Jesus clad only in swaddling clothes? That baby is going to freeze to death if they don’t bundle him up – how irresponsible of them! No wonder his arms are stretched out, he wants help!
Looks like I better check him out and see if he is alright. Man, I keep hearing Jesus is the reason for the season, but I’m not so sure. I think an Eskimo may be a better reason for the season in Minnesota! Happy Second Sunday in Advent my friends! Remember, don’t leave your pets or children out in the cold!
Today IβmΒ joining the Black and White Sunday Blog Hop, with a splash of Christmas red, sponsored by Dachshund Nola and Sugar the Golden Retriever. Remember to stop by and visit some of the other blogs on the hop to meet new friends!
LOL! Maybe you have a blanket you could share with the baby, Emma?
That baby needs a warm house I think!
Wotten waven!
xox
Tootsie
π
I think you have to sing some carols and then they will sing along with you π
I didn’t try my howling, that might be an idea.
You are a VERY wise dog!
Thank you. I do my best.
You do really look wise sweet Emma…and I love your hat!
Gotta keep that Christmas mood going!
Good job keeping an eye on the baby jesus!
Someone has to worry about those mini humans.
LOL! I love Emma’s look in the second photo. Hilarious!
I am thinking Emma is wight about the eskimo. With the storm coming today, the baby Jesus is going to need some covering.
I think that whole family may sadly be on ice by days end. At least in a good snow storm, the snow would cover them and keep them warm.
This made me giggle. She is making sure Baby Jesus is ok!
π I was quite concerned about Jesus just laying there.
you are a fabulous wise dog and I agree with you, hope all have a warm and comfy place when it is cold outside. I feel sorry for the poor baby… shall I send my blankie?
I have some at home I can bring over and cover the poor little fellow with.
Yeah, cover that baby up. Give him some of your fluffy Emma.
I should have Mom brush Katie and then bring all that fur over to cover him. She sheds enough to make an entire blanket.
You are too cute as a “wise man” Emma. The original manger should have had a wise dog to watch over the baby Jesus.
Oz
I’m just glad to know the original manger wasn’t in Minnesota because I think that whole story would have ended differently. We have camels and stuff here, but they are locked up in a zoo..
such a great photo! Happy B&W Sunday!
Thank you.
Cujo?? j/k Happy b&w Sunday
You definitely fit the part of the “wise dog!” Your whiskers scream “sage.” And myrr! Or… brrrr? π
Hmmm…I think brrr…
you make an excellent wise shepperdess π π
I think I maybe should have had a different type of hat, but I was feeling Christmasy at the time.
An excellent wise person you make Emma and you look lovely in your hat. Have a serene and easy Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
Thank you. Have to keep that Christmas mood going, you know.
Who need 3 wise men when they have Emma?! Wish we had a LITTLE statue of a GBGV for my nativity. Wonder if one of our PBGV Christmas tree ornaments might suffice? The Mom would smile every time she saw her nativity. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
At least you have PBGV ornaments, we don’t have any GBGV ones. Try putting one in the manger and see how it works out. Just be careful. Cat bro Bert took an ornament off the tree yesterday. Bailie thought it was a ball, carried it to the foyer where we have hardwood flooring and dropped it…smash…such a mess. It is not easy living with those two! A trouble tag team!
The Christmas tree to be seen from the street is in the dining room, and it has lights with no ornaments. The tree for the great room is on top of Panda’s crate. It has only lights and doggie ornaments. I have left it alone…so far. Sparkle
The problem is cat bro Bert takes ornaments off and puts them on the floor. Bailie assumes they are then dog toys. Oh well, the nicer ornaments are on the top half of the tree for safety reasons.
Yepβ¦. dat’s what was neededβ¦. a wise shepherd. High Paws.
Wags,
Ranger
Maybe I should find a German Shepherd dog to sit with them?
Emma , you are indeed a wise dog. Take one of Bailey’s blankets to cover him, or maybe you three wise dogs should take turns watching over them??? Katie would make a Fabulous blanket for baby Jesus! OR …could you bake them a big gingerbread house to keep them warm?
I think I will just save up Katie’s fur and make a fluffy blanket. She sheds enough for a blanket almost daily!
PERFECT addition to the Manger Scene… that is what has been MISSING … A WISE DOG.
Exactly! I can’t believe the original story didn’t include a dog! Who needs a camel?
Emma, major faux paw! Something I’ve learned since living in Chicago is that you NEVER put the baby Jesus in the manger until Christmas morning. I mean, you know he isn’t born yet right? Love Dolly
Well, no wonder…this whole setup is probably a fake! What are people thinking?
Emma, you’re such a cute photo bomber! π
Thank you! Some dog needed to liven up that boring party!
That’s what I’m missing for my nativity set! I need to add a GBGV, then it will be complete!!!
You could add yourself, and we need one more dog and we have all three wise dogs!
Saw your photo on FB and cracked up! Love these, Emma π
Thank you…I love to have fun π
This is so funny! You need to snuggle with Baby Jesus and keep him warm. I love that song, “Away in a manger, a GBGV at his head…” β₯ β₯ Your Boy, Bentley
I love your words! They are so much better than the original ones! That baby was just too cold to snuggle with!
Haha! Hilarious! Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus look a little creepy. You added some friendliness to the “manger” for sure!
They were all real stiff for sure! Strange family!
How funny! Glad they didnt mind you sniffing around!!
They just sat there and did not move a muscle. I think they might have a fear of dogs?
We love that you are so concerned about your neighbors…and their mangers Emma!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
Some neighbors obviously need some assistance!
You’re so cool Emma.
Thank you, I try.
You make a good stand in for the wise men. π
Much more fashionable too I think.
HAHAHA the photobomber has such a bright red hat!
Have to liven up that boring scene!
I agree! He definitely needs some warmer clothes! I mean, what were they thinking?? BOL!!
I love the red santa hat color pop!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thank you. Our weather has warmed a bit, but it is still winter and not good for a baby to be just sitting there in almost nothing!
What a pawsome photo bomber you are Emma!! I’m sure Mary and Joseph would have loved a doggie in their family too! π
Happy Holidays to you all,
Your pal Snoopy π
Who needs a camel when you have a GBGV in your manger?
So funny! Emma, you remind me of Haley. She always wants to investigate the latest ‘scene’ and hang out with statues and figures too!
It’s always fun to sniff around a new area with new stuff.
I think baby Jesus would have been much warmer with a GBGV to cuddle with!
You got that right!
Crack me up, you are a wise dog, love the photobombs!!!
I hope I am a wise dog!
Awesome pictures π Just made me laugh π Cutie!
Thank you. I like to keep humans smiling.
