I was out and about as usual this past week, and I ran into my manger friends again. Evidently, they are like nomads as they move around. This time, they were not alone. It looked like a huge party at their campsite! Some funny looking dudes and lots of animals – I blended right in! I don’t know what folks like this are doing in Minnesota, I think they are confused! They really need to move somewhere warm with their lifestyle..
Having seen Mary and Joseph last week and telling them about the need to keep their baby warm, I was a bit upset to see the baby still out in the cold. I decided to have a dog to human chat with Joseph about their situation. He said they did have a roof over their head now. Well, not really, I told him. I explained to him that he needed an actual house of some sort to keep the baby Jesus warm.
Mary and Joseph were a bit friendlier this time, but still a little on the stiff side. I think with all the animals and people visiting them they felt like they needed to loosen up some.
On the way out, I saw this poor camel sitting off to the side all alone. I stopped to ask why he was alone and got a real ear full (and I have big ears). His name is Joe Camel. I guess he used to be like the most famous camel in the world and everyone knew of him, but then the company he worked for came under fire and now no one wants anything to do with him. I felt sorry for the poor guy as it was not at all his fault. I guess it is a good reminder that life can change at the drop of a hat, so appreciate what you have at the moment.
Happy Third Sunday in Advent, my friends!

Thank you! Wish the folks weren’t so stiff, though!
Wow you come around Emma.
My furs get around…I’m a busy GBGV.
Those are the greatest pictures! Funny, funny story. Thanks for starting our day off with a laugh. β₯
Usually I am so serious, I thought I would change things up and be funny for once! Hugs to Bentley!
BOL! You are a great conversationalist with those poor manger folks. Hopefully Mary and Joseph wind up taking your advice and completing the house for the winter… they need a carpenter!
They need a lot of stuff and all those odd party guests were bringing were gold, myrrh, and Frankincense…who needs that stuff? What is that stuff anyway???
Terrible gifts!
Ridiculous gifts!
It’s just not easy setting those people straight, is it, Emma? Well, at least you keep trying. It was nice of you to befriend Joe the Camel too, I’m sure not too many people (or dogs) will talk to him these days.
He was real down and out. From famous to an outcast, sad for a camel. Hopefully Joseph and Mary will get that baby a decent home soon.
You do look right at home there pretty Emma!
It was rather homey/cozy.
You have such a good heart, Emma! You take care of everyone!
Mom says I like to have my big nose in everyone’s business. I don’t know if she means that in a nice way or not, but I do like to be in the midst of everything.
This was a awesome manger visit. You are such a good girl.
It was crazy wild there this week! No loud music at least, but one big party.
maybe Joe is no longer po(o)pular because the people know now how they made that cigarettes? I’m glad the Ox has still a job at your manger although popie fired that poor guy last year :o)
Gotta feel bad for Joe, he had no clue what was going on and that he would become an outcast. The ox were nice, so were the sheep and other animals.
maybe popie confused the poor Ox with the camel as he wrote the pink slip?
Oh dear…that would be bad! Could be a lawsuit if it comes out!
Imagine them still letting baby Jesus be cold. Tsk. And I always wondered what happened to Joe camel.
Joe Camel is really in dire straits. Quite the sad tale. Hopefully Joseph will get a decent place for his family after my chat with him.
Emma, you are certainly a thoughtful GBGV to take the time to chat with Joseph and Joe. I”m sure the appreciated your tips on keeping warm.
I like to help out when I can. It sure was an odd party and strange mix of folks there.
The baby Jesus shouldn’t be out in the cold he isn’t born yet! Geez. Love Dolly
I know you said that, but they have some baby out there in the cold and that is just not right.
you have found some interesting friends
Hmmm…I think I will leave them all as acquaintances…friends not so much as they are all a bit odd.
Oh, Emma, you are too funny! “A little stiff,” the talk with Joseph, and Joe camel had the mom and me giggling. Yesterday she left me to go to Orlando to a dog show and did not take me! She watched my kissing cousins in the ring, and made a point to go to the ‘Meet the Breed’ GBGV location so she saw your kissing cousins too. She brought me some stuff so I may be able to forgive her for leaving me. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Those GBGV guys have quite a set up at the meet the breed in Orlando. I’ve seen the photos! Hope she had a nice time. Isn’t it weird dogs can’t go with to a dog show! In Germany I could go, but Mom never wanted to go.
She had a great time shopping for ME! She got a contraption to hold me on the grooming table – not sure I will like that! She got toys (I peeked) and an antler for ME! She also got a special pillow for us (the mom and me) to rest our heads on at night. She really wanted to buy -for her – a $700 PBGV gold pendant. That could buy me lots of toys and antlers! She resisted. Oh, she bought a shirt for her with a PBGV on it and the PBGV SPARKLES, like me. π Sparkle
Wow! Sounds like it was good shopping! You got lucky, I think. Thankfully, we don’t have a real grooming table, but I do have to go on a table upstairs sometimes to get my coat stripped. Every three months I have to go to the spa too.
Haha! I love it! π I could be your sheep in your diorama- I graze on grass AND I follow people everywhere! You have such great photos!
Thank you π Sometimes I graze on grass too, but that is because I need to puke. Mom doesn’t like it when I do that. You could play a sheep with my Kuvasz sister Katie who kind of looks like a sheep and is a sheep guard dog.
Emma! You rock! Im glad this family is starting to “warm” up….they really should try and get a blanket for that baby and maybe a proper house.
A snowsuit would be proper in Minnesota, but a house would be the best.
Fabulous, Emma.! Thanks for looking out for baby Jesus. Gaudete! We also are watching strange figures come out of the closet and nestle into pine branches in our library. Some of them appear to be Joe Camel’s relatives. Mom has to be very careful, because my darn ( I mean darling) older sister, Lucy PBGV, is tearing up and chewing up everything that isn’t too high for her to find a way to reach. She is Definitely a holy Tearror!
Your kissing cousin, Chablis.
p.s. I was SUPPOSED to be at Eukanuba, but mom went and had a bad car accident. I hope her friends send lots of pictures from the shows and that her freind nancy finds her a good souvenier.
My cat bro Bert is the only one stealing Christmas decorations, he is a rotten cat! I heard about your mom not being able to go to Florida. We felt bad as we know she was so looking forward to it. Maybe next year. Hope she is feeling better as her health is the most important thing.
You take the Mostest INTERESTING walkies, Emma. And meet interesting folks.. like Joe the Camel.
I lead a strange life, but it is lots of fun π
Wow that is great and yes appreciate the moment without humps LOL. Have a serene and easy Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
Thanks, Molly. Hope your Sunday is going well.
What a wonderful story and pictures. My Mom LB said she was in the Christmas play at church when she was little. She played Mary and Jesus in the manger was played by a 40 watt light bulb. Abby the Lab
I don’t think my manger friends have power or the light bulb would be an idea to warm up that poor baby Jesus.
A dog in a manger, BOL!
Hey, I’m much neater than those camels, sheep, cows, and stuff!
Maybe you need to bring them some frankincense and myrrh as a housewarming gift first?
I don’t know where to buy that stuff. I think those other guys brought some, though.
Definitely a great reminder to have!!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
This just cracks me up! How do you get Emma into these scenes? Does the neighbor love her enough to let her pose there?
Joe Camel??? LOL!
Mary and Joseph always seem a bit stiff to me too. π
We just find them when we are out and about and then I go back when I have my camera and the Santa hat. We never ask, just pop in, do the photos and leave. Emma loves to do photos, so that is the easy part.
BOL! A dog manger π Woofs to you Emma.
Thanks Sugar. You might find some out there in CA where it would be more practical!
You ROCK that manger Emma!! xo Chloe and LadyBug
I did try to bring some fun to a rather stiff and boring party!
That gang looks a little flat to us. π
That is true!
Making furrends with Joe Camel are you Emma?
I feel sorry for the poor guy.
Lucky babe to have you looking out for him π
